An interesting thought that came into my mind: Christ said that we should sell all we have and follow him. When Jesus was on earth, he was teaching and helping the people. Why does no one think of selling everything they have to help someone who is in these rough conditions? Isn't it all unimportant in comparison to human life? God did establish laws for how one ought to treat their slaves. Slavery was very commonplace in the entire world at this time. However, we must remember, a lot of things that occurred in the Old Testament changed drastically with the coming of Jesus. With Jesus, came equality for men and women, slave and free, rich and poor. Before Christ, things were not as equal.
