  • i think its easier with a higher angle and more distance between beater and the head

  • its whatever feels comfortable 2 u...as in how you sit. arm reach n long legs does matter to some ppl. but besides the slide tech. check out the rocking tech for double n triple kicking

  • I'm trying to figure out what my footboard angle should be at :s. Would a lower angle be more beneficial?

  • @FRIESENZA I would probably just say what ever feels the most comfortable.

  • The best drumer in the world actually does this same technic john bonham from the great led zeppelin

  • get a PA system and that will make it play out aloud

  • I meant: hey dude you're also playing guitar? Because I do, and I'm to

  • Hey dude you're also playing guitar!

  • here we meet again 240p

  • You look like the guy on American Pie that fucks the pie. But this is fucking sweet!

  • doo yu play ina metal band bro..?

  • nice shoes :D

  • thanks :)

  • wow thanks^^ that's gonna help me a lot and spare the money for a doublebass... plus: its just badass^^

  • Zach Hill mastered this.

  • Every tried that on the meshuggah song bleed?

  • sweet! i'm going to get a bass drum practice soon, just like you have..question: should i start up very even thought is boring? and how many minutes or hours should i do slow? like was showing

  • @drums364 I would suggest playing with a metronome and starting at a slow & very comfortable tempo and slowly raise the beats per minutes. Move on once you have mastered that tempo. Always start each practice session at a slow comfortable tempo.

  • @eBeauLive oh ok...i need metronome then..i don't have one, i'll get one soon...so when i practice. i just concentrate with the bass drum?

  • @drums364 Im not sure exactly what you mean, but you can download metronomes for your computer or even us them online with no download.

  • @eBeauLive ooh cool, interesting!

  • I don't play real drums and needed help as I first started paying Guitar Hero.

Thanks for the video, it is really helpful.

I do play the Piano myself though but it's not on Guitar Hero. haha

  • @ChikoWhat Sweet. Thanks for watching.

  • very nice video

  • 4:36 reminds me of beast and the harlot by avenged sevenfold

  • great video man.I agree that the slide is under used.also for any double bass drummers you can use this instead o f heel toe to get two notes per foot and last very long!!!!!

  • informative :)

  • is that a strap drive or a chain? pls let me know

  • @slashman53 chain

  • so....did you follow your own suggestion and take tap lessons?

  • @mkw28 I took tap lessons for about 3 years.

  • Take what to make your feet fast??

  • lol i just do heel-up, less complicated

  • ay beau its anthony haha

  • WHY DO YOU HAVE A FALAM SLAM ON YOUR PRACTICE PAD ?

  • @MrDIEGOTAPIAP The beater was making a whole in the pad.

  • do u have a better kick if the chain is tight

  • helped alot thanks m8

  • dude i have a god damn question....can i play the slide technique with double bass and get it the same speed as the heel-toe technique?

  • @kyriacos93b Yes! The slide technique is a little more challenging in that without practice, you wont have both hits with equal power. Where as, the heel toe is easier to get an equal hit with less practice. And you DEFINITELY can get it down with both pedals at the same speed and I believe even faster. The slide technique is in one direction there for you can continue your momentum, unlike the heel toe where you have to change direction completely. Hope that helped (:

  • @eBeauLive correction dude.. slide technique is easier to get two solid hits. Cheers ;)

  • great video

  • I made this technique up when I first started drumming. I wasn't fast enough playing 2 notes with the pedal and ended up doing that. Now I have a double pedal and do it with both feet lol.

  • hello, which brand is that kick pad?

  • @manifist0 some pearl with single chain, maybe some p series

  • @donatas17 "Kick Pad" my friend.

  • Very nice :p better than my explanation. :P

  • this is a good technique. its gonna take me a while to do it but imma try

  • I'm trying to teach my LEFT foot how to do this now, so I can manage double stroke rolls with my double bass drumming. I think it'll be a little more energy conserving as opposed to single strokes. I can already do what you've demonstrated in the video, it's just now trying to get it consistent between both feet. I am determined, though.

Real clean stuff, btw. Most people I see day-to-day struggle to keep their doubles clean or even do them at all xD

  • Thanks for the tip, I'm gonna practice that and see if that works for me.

  • Beau, very good demo. I dig your channel logo too, very creative and it gave me the idea how to get around those channel names I want to use but are not available.

  • could u do a video on the heel toe method

  • 3:02 dadadadadadadadada LOL

  • can i "ask you" a question beau askew??

  • @nmiguel8c lol. nick.

  • @eBeauLive Dude, nice vid! What about spring tension and sitting position? Do you sit higher or just a normal 90 degree angle? Greez

  • @EvolRogg I sit just barely higher that a 90 degree angle, but it is all up to your personal preference.

  • @eBeauLive On your example of doing three, it looked like you were doing the moeller technique. But i'd say for the next, get more into to the mechanics of the techniques, specifically doing it properly.

  • @TheMrProtocol Ya. I made this a long time ago and used youtube to record it directly. So I wasn't very experienced before.

  • Honestly do all americans wear shoes inside the house?

  • @PMacnfriends

NO! Everyone who enters my house must take off their shoes! No one has complained so far. It's a LOT more difficult enforcing the no underpants rule!!!

  • @PMacnfriends i think hes wearing shoes cuz its easier to make that technique wearing shoes, its not that he likes to wear shoes inside the house...well thats my case

  • i tried many times but i cant. is it better to have my pedal low or hard or anything??!

    respong please!

  • @titoineboily I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. Are you asking about the tightness of the spring?

  • @eBeauLive yes exactly!:P

  • @titoineboily well I talked about it briefly in the video, but it is really just a preference. I would definitely suggest leaning toward the tighter end tho. This will make it easier for the pedal to bounce; allowing you to hit the pedal for your second bass drum kick.

  • @eBeauLive thank you dude :D

  • nice pedal, i got the same but double:P

  • Cheers for the help man this will really help! :')

  • Very nice!!

Love the pedalgot the same one, very good and very cheap!

    Nice video, thanks alot

  • Nice vid but why bother when u can just get a Duallist D4 pedal which has two heads on one pedal, one beat on downstroke and one on up. I would like to know how to make my stick skills better coz i can't seem to get doubles or triples or even drum rolls. Any help?

  • nice vid bro, i like how you showed this technique in a beat and fills as well. i love the slide technique, especially over the heel/toe. it was funny how you called yourself out on the sloppy beat.....but like thesmar09 said, the second beat was sick. nice post bro, keep it up.

  • This has inspired me to work on my single bass pedal speed. I was way better with double strokes years ago before I got a double pedal. It makes you cheat. This has inspired me to work on single pedal double strokes. Thanks.

  • So true . My right foot was way quicker for doubles before I got a double bass pedal (years ago). you do cheat alot instead of doing things with one pedal. this has inspired me to work on my single pedal foot speed again. Thanks man !

  • Nice video and nice technique! I have wondered how it's done.

  • Nice, Thanks for posting this video. Very informative.

  • @Nootherlove1 Glad I could help! Im shocked how many views this video has gotten.

  • Hello.....

I have a question? how long you've practice in a day just for this technique?

    pls reply....

    tnx.....

  • @josephyu27 I actually don't practice this technique anymore. I already have it down pretty clean to where when I want to use it, it just takes me about 2-3mins of practice to get it down smoothly again. I've been needing to start practicing this on my left foot.

  • @eBeauLive thank's friend.....

  • Cobus uses ths.....

  • how come at 3:27 to 3:37 ur beat sucks but after 3:38 ur beat is kick ass?

  • @TheSmar09 haha, they were just hella sloppy at first. probz because i was recording right on the spot.

  • I agree about the double kick distracting from single kick techniques. I just discovered the slide technique. I have always used heel toe myself. Also I think I will take your advice and tighten up my pedal to gain strength and make it easier. What about playing heel down at fast speeds? I have seen people play heel toe punk beats with heel down like it was a basic 4/4 beat (rock beat).

  • what v-drum set do u use? roland?

  • Im like a year into it with out lessons, so that part about fills actually helped.

  • 30 yrs later!!!

  • lol 4:18 looks like flinstones car starting xD

    good video bro

  • @thebandfrom96 holy shit ahhaha it really does

  • thanks for showing me that

  • hey man just throwing this out there. using the "heel-toe" method (used by drumming great Tony Thaxton) is slightly easier and gets a more consistent sound. the only problem i have with the slide is that often times the first beat is softer than the second. heel-toe is also (for me anyways) easier to learn and master. good video though!

  • @lildrummerboy1718 thanks for the comment bro. i have tried the heel-toe technique, but I prefer the slide technique. the heel-toe technique to me is difficult because i have big feet and the slide technique can be done easily with any size foot. I admit that I am not very experienced with the heel-toe method, so I personally suggest that everyone should learn both techniques and pick the one that they favor more. :)

  • @eBeauLive well put. rock on!

  • do it with two a double bass= super fast bassing lolol

  • @giglfoosm ya, i really need to start working on that.

  • well done!!! how did you find this on an accoustic bass drum?

  • @chopzmasta07 i've actually been considering posting a new video on my acoustic set that is better explained and shows better examples. Now that you've commented, I think I am going to make the video bud. Should be up in the next week or so. subscribe so you can check it out.

    Thanks for the comment,

    eBeau

  • @eBeauLive hopefully that is what you mean by your comment. I just read it super quickly.

  • i love you ♥♥

  • Thanks to this video, I know know how my friend did two counts of 32nd notes with one foot... THANK YOU!!!

  • Nice demo, I am new in drums, I have been playing(well... not actually playing, learning to play) for like a month or two. I don't need this technique now, but it will surely be useful in the future.

  • cool

  • nice,

    your so good,

  • Arg this is hard especially wen u shake ur leg wen ur bored as a habit :[

  • Amazing demostration! I gotta try this technique right now!

  • Nice shoes Beau

  • This guy is great i got it down in 3 days but it was tiring and i had my drum set since may

  • @TheSmar07 thanks dude. glad i could help.

  • This guy is beast i figured it out in 3 days and i hav been playin drum set since may

  • Comment removed

  • @abolisher2041 - Shut up! You're stupid and I hate you :D

  • don;t need a special technique to play 3 in a row @ dat speed...

  • @gwb911 well yes, but if your trying to play consistent 3's. or 3 and then more directly after, i feel that you should hit your 3rd hit on the way down so your ready to attack the pedal again. just my opinion. would appreciate if people didnt constantly try to tell me what im saying wrong. take what you want from the video and its here to simply give some tips and my view of the technique.

  • i use the ball of my foot as a waight to make the bass very fast

  • whoah, whoah... YOU DON'T NEED TO TAKE TAP LESSONS! Just practice. Tap lessons wont help you apply the technique although it will develope your stamina, but it's not need. Also, there's no need to spend extra money that may need for something more beneficial

  • @trueshinchan no need for this kind of comment dude. tap dancing actually will definitely help. a basic move you learn in tap dancing is a Fa-Lap which is pretty much the exact same thing as the slide technique. the only difference is that the slide technique is on a pedal. and i never said you NEED to take tap lessons. I said it will help so take your useless comments somewhere else.

    thanks,

    eBeau

  • @eBeauLive You totally pwned him!

  • Happy poopy beau!!! this is bryan the old drummer from strifer!!! im your biggest fan lol!!! that was pretty sick shibby my friend :) keep up the good work bro!!!

  • @striferdrummer76 thanks! did u happen to find this video randomly on youtube just searching around?

  • Great vid, Thanks.

  • where did u get that bass pedal pad man? im looking for one of those

  • hey thnx man! im gonna try it right noW good vid!! :)

  • Freaking crazy dude. I'm going to try it out the next time i play.

  • hey man thats REALLY good im gunna have to work on this

  • hi dude. do you need to apply much pressure on your feet like vibrating it? or as much as possible relax and constant hit? thanks for the reply

  • @kimwafu03 I believe you need to use the least amount of pressure as possible, while still getting a nice bass drum hit. don't cheat yourself out of a good solid hit. hopefully that helps.

  • @eBeauLive i see so all i really need is to slide my feet and get the rhythm right? I'm kinda confuse right now coz i can't practice that technique.i don't have my drum kit anymore but i'm planning to get one next month. you think heel toe is fine too? thanks for the reply..Godbless

  • @eBeauLive i see,so all i have to do is use the rebound for the slide right? anyway thanks a lot. but i'm still confused because i don't have my drum kit here..and i can't practice it..and also you think heel toe is fine too? thanks for replying. Godbless dude.

  • stamina? what are you playing san andreas?

  • @gabosesy hater.

  • @gabosesy Ummmm.... because San Andreas clearly invented the entire concept of stamina!

  • @gabosesy

No world of warcraft, his shoes provide 50+ stamina :)

  • @MforceArts Yeh and 90 bonus SP and 50 intelllect with the new patch xD

  • @gabosesy no point getting the technique down if you dont last through a song, smartass

  • @gabosesy its funny since stamina which was originally used as an actual word meaning how long you can endure something has now been twisted into some meaningless games definition. I dont understand why it has thumbs up. you sound pretty dim.

  • @gabosesy gabosesy has no videos avalible.

  • @gabosesy its a universal term for your amount of energy, but you would know that if you went out side or played a sport thats not on a television.

  • haha you got an electric drumset, acoustic are way cooler and better

  • @raokin466 I had this when i moved. my acoustic was at my old house. its on my new videos. check them out if you'd like.

  • @raokin466 acoustic are also usually more expensive. Douche

  • @Andhafell yup and i have one and i have money to but another one, stfu

  • @raokin466 sorry, let me correct the last comment. Rich douche.

  • @Andhafell when you've got nothing to do STFU douche

  • @raokin466 that made no sence

  • due your tempo is all over the place .

    try using a metronome n that .

also having ur springs as tight as possible isnt always good , just be careful cause u can strain muscles n that , also u can go just as fast with the pedal looser

  • @mattdadrumer first off, i know my tempo was all over the place. i mentioned it as i fucked up.... secondly, you can strain your muscles?... thats pathetic, and too top it all off, i never said using a tighter pedal will make you fast.... its just like jogging. if you run 3 miles a day for a good period of time, running half a mile one day is going to be piece of cake. i was trying to get the point across that using the tightness to build up muscle is a good idea. thats for shit talking my vid:)

  • @eBeauLive every1 is entitled to their opinion

  • I have those shoes..=)

  • @BlindedbyBullets dope! check out my new videos. im posting more soon!

  • Thats very helpful! Thanks m8 ;)

  • u talk alot....it doesnt help much...sorry

  • i like to use this teqnique alot

  • Never thought of that

    TY

thumbs up for this unknow fact to me :D

  • awesome, that sounded awesome!!

    cheers, that really helped.

    keep drumming dude!

  • this is why i think single bass pedal owns double bass...takes more technique to get the same effect, and it sounds better imho.

  • holy shit u look like jason biggs

  • u kinda look like the guy from american pie :)

  • @TheJarppidudeson random much? lol.

  • Wow. Very helpful! I made the mistake of buying a double pedal for the kit...

  • @BlueCrayolaMarker that's not really a mistake. you can then learn hte slide technique on both feet, then your into a whole new ball game of sounds with fast double bass + slide = epic insane speed, triplets coming out your ass and immense fills. all adds to the goodness

  • @eddiehead Hella ya. Thats what I'm currently working on dude. same thing as people who are hella good at double strokes, they will kick your ass if you try to show them up with single strokes. lol. very good point and thanks for the comment eddiehead

  • @eddiehead triplets coming out if your ass

    awesome

  • How long did it take you to be able to get the slide technique so quick? And do you use the heel toe technique much?

  • i like to play with sliding bass drum technique than hill toe technique

  • Great video man! I use the same technique but I have a very crappy pedal and I can't play as fast as I want. I'd love to blame the pedal but I'm not sure... maybe it's just a matter of time and practice ^^

    Cheers!

  • I think I use that too, but I never stand still with hów I do doubles exactly. When I have a good cam, I'll send you a video of it!

    greetz

  • Thank you VERY much man!

  • azuritereaction uses that technique! :0

  • Comment removed

  • @koolperson55 Thanks for the useless comment. I checked out your video of your drum solo... I figured at least if you were going to talk shit on my video, you'd at least be good... but not, your 13 and have been playing for 6 years and your still playing on a shit drum set doing the type of beats and fills i played after about a year of drumming. good job dude, syke.

  • @eBeauLive lol pwnd

  • @bentleybass lol. :)

  • @eBeauLive this kid kinda pisses me off. i think he should stop playin drums. i watched his vids and iono if thats the skill level one should be at for playing for 6 years.
