ok after finally getting this to install. it's jumping and catching way more than it did in your video (i've no clue my mine wouldbe any different. ) there's no swype (which i need for my fat ass fingers) and no task killer. not to mention the bootup and shutdown screens i'm used to (the helix) simply don't load. theres a couple things that i have jsut become accustomed to that i miss like taking the icon names off the homescreen. Is there a favorite mtd GB rom out right now or is this that?

@Varryance CM7 is not a Touchwiz ROM. It is AOSP so none of your touchwiz favorite stuff will be in it. Try CleanGB MTD ROM if you need conversion to MTD. If already on MTD then Sleeper ROM will work as well.

@ladiesman2176468 There is a link in CM7 ROM thread for gapps that will take you to a Google of them. Choose the most recent for your phone and flash. Or simply google gapps for CM7.

@Bod1006 Very good question. Basically it's an updated version of the stable build, but it might have bugs. its for testing purposes and usually you can just wipe cache and dalvik and flash each update every night

I have a question..ever since i downloaded the new cyanogen mod all my incoming calls i get asked " press 1 to answer or 2 to send to voicemail" and i cant find the setting to turn it off..i dont want my calls filtered and the phone goggles isnt enabled so im stuck!! I love the mod but if i cant get this off ill prob revert back to the nubernel kernel..please help!!

@bosika2082 If someone calls your google voice number i think it always does that.

uh i dnt knw looks good but i like my 4g when i travel it works in sum area were i live here in miami also i like my wifi hack comes in handy so i guess i'll wait 4 the fix version or acs srf v1.3 witch ever comes 1st ps with all these goodies out on GB srf v1.3 should b AWESOME!!! & HOW do i find out if im on mtd is it or bmt hope im saying it right

Well, what rom are you on? The rom you flash would specify if it was MTD

@magikwurd - Update: Gmail sync is working after all. This ROM is sooooo customizable I overlooked syncing my 'Priority' and 'Important' folders where my emails were flooding into as well. Needless to say, I'm a happy camper. This upgrade is a must!!!

One more observation.

*My Hulu apk file that previously didn't work, now works great. The only drawback is that the Flash Player required is an older version, 10.3.186.3 (newer Flash versions trigger device not supported msg, I believe). As a result, there's issues with Flash running properly from the internet browser. I'll try to see if I can check if a slightly newer version of Flash will run both OK. Hulu app is version 1.0 Mod by Ihtfp69 (if this helps you Hulu loving people) :)

My observations since upgrading to CM7 on my Epic 4G:

*First off, it's freakin' awesome. Definitely holding off on purchasing a Galaxy Nexus for now.

*Gmail account doesn't sync up automatically. No new mail notification. You have to click on the app and launch it to have your new mail sync. (Gmail isn't added to the 'Accounts & sync' settings window when installed. Maybe this is why.)

*4G is working flawlessly, but the 4G toggle button up top isn't.

*You lose Swype but go--> bit(dot)ly/yoAb8D

Hey qbking. After flashing CM7, I decided to restore my previous (CleanGB) but when I reboot the Samsung log appears and won't go no further. Nor can I access CWM...help!

@royalluv2008 You can't restore a bml rom after flashing an mtd rom.. you'll need to go back to stock, re root and then restore your backup

@royalluv2008 There is a CleanGB MTD version by the way. You should just flash that one. What didn't you like about CM7 that made you go back to CleanGB, which is what I'm currently running. I'm just wondering if I should flash it myself or not.

@ArcherBrianJames Actually CM7 wasn't very stable so I would recommend flashing it. For some reason I just wanted to restore CleanGB which was also pretty stable. Do you have the link to the MTD version?

I personally see nothing special about this one... Everything is WIP, and it's basically just CleanGB unthemed with a couple extra silly features. Want a better looking rom? Get CleanGB + Gitusum's (XDA) ICS Theme.

@qbking77 I'm coming from ACS1.2 on my Epic and I'm looking for something equally, if not more stable. Should I flash CM7 RC2 or wait until it's more stable? Can I flash directly from ACS1.2 or are there special steps? Will the CM Kernel install automatically or is the kernel something I need to install separately? @tasoli You can just wipe and flash CM7.. it should be very stable and work well. Just follow my video to install CM7
