@richu27 Well drving any stick in the City kind of sucks, but the Altima is no worse then any other manual tranny. As for the shifter and clutch, there fine. The clutch is not to hard or to soft, the shifts are great but a little clunky (thats just the way Nissan is, my Z is the same way)

nice drive, also got an 08 3.5 se 6spd m/t and i love it! only thing that is a bit a hassle sometimes, the very short gear ratios. if there's barelt traffic i always shirt 1st -3rd-5th. the vq35 has so much torque from the bottom so it pulls quit nice.

yah i own a 07 2.5sl and i totally regret not getting a 3.5. ive got a fujita intake and custom 2.5" piping with magnaflow mufflers and people always tell me my exhaust sounds like deep and throaty like a v8 tho so its aiite, i can make do with a 2.5. its still one of the faster cars in its class especially with the cvt. i always catch up or close the distance when the other car is shifting.
my only two complaints after owning this car for 6 mths is that the drivers seat squeaks on turns and wen i get in the car. also theres random "popping" sounds coming from under the hood either when i put it in park or am stopped at a litght/stop sign whatever
My seat dont squeak... But it does move... There is a fix for it at the dealer... As for your popping sound Iam guessing you have a CVT? If so I have never had this problem... I have heard about it on a couple of 4 cylinder CVT models, is that what you have.... When It comes to my car V-6 6spd these problems are a small price to pay for the huge smile I get on my face whenever I drive it

I've taken it in 3 times and they claim to fix it, but the problem persists. I'm just wondering if this is a common problem with this model.

I bought the 3.5l w/cvt transmission, too much traffic in my area, anyways I still like it the only thing is that you really don't get the most out of the engine. But it is still a good transmission.
From what I have seen/heard the 6spd is a better choice, because it's more reliable and plus when you are on a highway and are pinning the gas the CVT stays at a high rpm which slows the car down vs shifting to a lower rpm. Plus my sister has a 3.5SE Altima Coupe and its a CVT, no fun to drive because when you hit the gas there is no gear changing so it just doesnt feel as thrilling...sorta lame i think a CVT belongs on a luxury car
You obviously don't know what you're talking about for a lot of reasons but to make it simple, you picked a 6-speed over a CVT. If you knew anything about transmissions you'd know that this was the better option by FAR. Again, to make things simple, an infinite number of gear ratios is always better than 6 gear ratios.

You can run faster even w/AC on. Go to an open road, and you should take 4th to about 120, 5th to about 140, and 6th just keeps asking for more.

Um yea its a 08 Altima, not a 1950 Chevy with a 3-spd, stop watching Fast and the Furious, there is know need to double clutch new cars.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about for a lot of reasons but to make it simple, you picked a 6-speed over a CVT. If you knew anything about transmissions you'd know that this was the better option by FAR. Again, to make things simple, an infinite number of gear ratios is always better than 6 gear ratios.
Especially in your case seeing as how you don't even know how to drive the car right. I bet you don't even know what rev matching is do you?

OK iam confused, do you favor the 6-spd or not?? First you say picking the 6-spd was the better choice, then you go on and say an infinite amout of ratios is better then 6, which means your favoring the CVT. Which one is it. And yes I know what rev matching is, do I need to explain it to you to make you feel better. And what happen to the Double Clutching, please tell me why I should do this to a modern Tranny

I was told you cannot double clutch anymore on newer cars anyways because of the computers put in them delete the need to do so, is this true?

You can double clutch this car and any new car with a stick as much as you want, and nothing will get messed up... There is just know reason to do it. A modern manny tranny is fully synconized so there is know need

Guy I know just broke 10's @ 125 in the 1/4 with his auto setup (N/A + 75 shot only).

Yea you are a dick, who watches a video of someone elses car and says my Maxiam which is clearly heavily modded would smoke your Alti. Thats like a person who owns a ZO6 Vett going around and telling people with Civic's that I can smoke you, put all the work you put into your Max into my Alti with the VQ35 and it would smoke your Max, I could have taken a old car and hooked it up like you, but Id rather have a brand new car.
