Does the finish significantly affect the sound? If so, in what way? I'm thinking about buying this cymbal vanilla, and if I don't like the sound, would Saluda be willing to put a different finish on it (for a fee, of course) or trade up?
Finish does not affect the sound at all. Saluda will make any sound adjustments free of charge. Finish changes, however, have a fee. I think it's $16.
Saluda Cymbals is a custom cymbal company. No two of their cymbals sound the same. That's what I meant by similarly. You can go to the website and request a "22" Saluda Mist X Big Bell Ride with Earthworks Acid Rain finish", and you can get something that sounds very similar to my ride.
It's all cool. Go to the Saluda Cymbals website, and talk to the owner, he can cook you up a perfect sounding ride cymbal. 22" cymbals cost around $200, mine was only $100, but because I got a discount and I traded in cymbals to lower the cost.
Reminds me alot of the A Custom sweet ride

if i requested a mist ride but with earthworks blue finish do u think they would do it, would it be a lot more expensive?
JAMIEREDFORD 2 years ago
It would only be $16 extra. Around there.

Have you ever tried cranking up your snare? I'm curious to how it would sound with the heads tight..
wiirluvenit 2 years ago
It sounds very bad. I used to have it tight on some old videos, watching them now, it sounds pretty bad.

What's the size on that bell there?
wiirluvenit 2 years ago
Not sure. I think 7".
JasonDTube 2 years ago
Measure for me if you don't mind because Jamie said my Bell Blast Ride with a 6" Bell was too big also it looks a little bigger.
