Personally i cant say anything else than that i feel goa as boring. Maybe its just me, but I can't find it progresive enough to fall into it. The melodies are also pretty much the same, which isent new for any kind of electronic music, but i especially feel this in goa and phy. Stuff like synthcore,gabber and sometimes even speedcore(thou, that often goes to fast to have anything to say at all.) can get me drifting, and my heart pumping, but goa will never do anything.

The repetitive parts of the music fall away when in trance and the subtle higher harmonics become apparent and their effect on the higher functions of the brain.

Compare the didgeridoo of the Aboriginal Australians; which to the untrained ear sound repetitive, but which paints pictures in the mind...

I define it by the rythm, the melody ,the pace and the overall mood I get in when listening to it. If the music feels repetive, then the mood gets to me as boring. And this whole imaging thing happens in art,music,book and all kind of art. Dont get too arrogant.

Trance is a subgenre of EDM, and whitin this lays more subgenres again. To mention a few: Epic, uplifting, acid, darkwave etc. It all has the "hypnotic" kind of melody which you would call " visionary state to enhance sensory acuity", but I don't think its like being on drugs just because of that.

I dont feel that with some 2step beat being repeated over and over again with some volum changes. I don't feel liek this takes me away any. It feels boring, gray more kind of.

Also, I dont know why you are mentioning popsongs when neither of us listen much to pop. I stated that I enjoy gabber,speedcore,etc.

Gabber and speedcore are based upon the effects of speed and MDMA, which are mostly adrenaline surges, rising heartbeat, restlessness, genital stimulattion.

Psychedelic trance like this; which is a prime example of VERY LSD-specific visually stimulating excellence, is aimed towards serotonine stiimulated people. What you see as boring is not so for us.

Of course pot makes all music sound great, especially psychedelic music.But this isn't near as psychedelic as stuff like shpongle. Are You Shpongled? (shpongle's first album, by the same guy behind Hallucinogen, Simon Posford) on shrooms was awesome. I had a transcendatal experience listening to shpongle just on pot. (Headphones are necessary to get the most out of shpongle on lsd/pot/shroom)

Your attention obviously is concentrated on a different frequency. Which is cool. Everyone has their own taste and preference.

But it does make you oblivious to the fact that this is not a two-step beat. And, obviously, that LSD stimulation does not lie in the heart-pumping, want-to-dance effect, but in cranial stimulation.

Someone who hasnt done psychedelics, will not understand what the effect is of psycedelics, or understand where the music leads you. I dont mean that condescendingly. Gabber, IDM, speedcore, house etc, do not evoke an even comparable state of mind and trigger different neurotransmitters.
