  • This is one of the best versions of Dead Flowers I've ever come across. It was absolutely tragic what happened to Frankie. I've always been a fan of his singing and bought The Rock album when first released.

These vids, particularly this one, are a testament to his talent. My sincere thanks to Creedona for putting them up. Muchas Gracias - Steve Rawson, Dublin, Ireland

  • i have the first 4 l.p. and i love this man since mid seventies when i was in jersey c. i. i'm italian and for five years i have been a d.j in a radio station and i always play him on the air and many people call me to know where they can buy l.p. of frankie but at that time wasn't so easy to have frankie l.p.'s in italy

  • Still gives me shivers after all these

  • I spent a good portion of my life in the music business. Deejay at KSJO San Jose for a long time. Doesn't matter what my name is. What matters is this...Frankie Miller. Go find his LP The Rock from around 75/76. Listen to this white boy do his thing with r n b. I'm just glad to know he's still alive and looking pretty damn good for a survivor. This man should have been a HUGE STAR, but he just didn't get the breaks. Go check him out doing a tune called HAVE YOU SEEN ME LATELY JOAN?

  • Hey, were you there when John Fiddler and British Lions did their promos on your station?

  • YES I WAS! I still have their lp, autographed by all the members of the band. They were terrific! A great interview, great humor, great guys and GREAT MUSIC! I still shake my head when I play that British Lions LP. They were hot! And they did a great live show at the Old Waldorf. Thanks for remembering..."The Mixer".

  • I have the British Lions UNRELEASED album, "Trouble With Women" with all of the on-air ads from your station that they did, and John Fiddler is a good friend of mine whom I had the pleasure of landing a couple of gigs for last year (not a promoter, but knew of some venues in the Phoenix area. He was living in Scottsdale but I haven't heard from him in a couple of months. He did a great solo gig as a support to Ian McLagan (Faces) last April!

  • P.S. - My Frankie Miller connection is that I got to know him briefly about the same time you did, when I was working with some trade journals in L.A. I did a cool interview with him and I still have a photo we took together at CASHBOX. He survived a terrible stroke but sadly cannot grace a stage. As you might remember Fiddler went on to front Box of Frogs - or the Yardbirds by another name. He left them in sad disgust when they refused to tour the states when their album was hot.

  • Got the album that "Joan" is from and many more besides. Frankie is THE best singer to come out of Scotland, a born natural with "a swagger ye could hing a washin' on!" to quote one Peter McDougall. God bless you Frankie, you werethe buisness and probably still are!

  • @kpls72

On the ball mate. Frankie should have been huge. Rod Stewart made a mint and never got close to him in my opinion.

  • @kpls72 Thanks for posting this nice and useful comment

  • @kpls72 I totally agree, why artists like Miller, Willy DeVille, Scott Morgan etc. never really

got their due when there are far, far, less talented singers who are stinking rich is beyond

    me, it's sick.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This brought a rare smile to my face! Frankie you are the man. I have no idea if this is available as an MP3 or an album track, but I've heard the Rolling Stones, Townes Van Zandt and my hero Steve Earles version. Frankie blows them all away. This wee gem should not be hidden away. If Frankie has any media support they should get this and the video out on public display asap.

    It's absolutely brilliant!!!

  • I was shocked and not a little upset when I came across a photo of Frankie showing how he is today. Hardly recognisable as the rocker from yesteryear. It's a crying shame about what happened to him, one of Britain's finest musicians that ever lived.

  • You don't grasp that people grow older, and that they can have strokes, as Frankie did? He's doing amazingly well considering what happened to him.

  • Frankie has a great voice, but there are many other UK rock/blues greats, including Dave Edmunds, Jess Roden, Robert Palmer, AWB....

  • none of those do even come close to Frankie,no matter how good they are..Edmunds isn't famous for his singin',neither is Robert Palmer..

Listen to his older live stuff and hear why Otis Redding's wife called him the best white blues singer she ever heard...

  • hi mate,

I liked what you said on youtube about Frankie miller. I have a dvd of him live and it contains a documentary about frankie as he is now. It's really good and it's not as much of a crying shame as you think. Let me know and I will post you a copy

    Pottsyboy

  • Hi, from what year is that concert, and can i buy it from you ? Have been fan since 1977 and love all the records from Frankie, i have them all, even the bbc radio one live concert cd..

  • Where can I get his song Hurtin Bad? Its on his myspace and no where else. I need help.

  • "Hurtin' Bad is a demo which has not as yet been released

  • @creedona Hi, I´m a big fan of Frankie and I´m glad you found this clips from

SVT Gothenburg. I am the guy who brought Frankie to the show.

  • Possibly the most under-rated singer of his generation and undoubtedly the finest rock/blues voice the UK has ever produced.

Never received the fame/credit/adulation/commercial success his talent deserved.

  • I wish I could find a Frankie Miller concert style T shirt.

  • Frankie Who?

    Frankirefuckingmiller that's who

Couldn't agree more, what a voice, great songs.

  • I remember that day very clearly .. back in the 70's .. when he sang "Darlin" on TOTP ..

I was only a teenager back then .. but the memory of that song .. and Frankie performing it .. has stayed with me for 30 years :) ..

  • Got the Tshirt 3 weeks ago I've waited for since Frankie Played Ayr Piv in 82 and I wear it with pride.

    Frankie Who?

    Frankirefuckingmiller that's who

Best wishes Frankie and a big thanks to annette who never gave up hope.

Only one better Scottish singer than Frankie, that's the late great James Dewar.

Christ i wish i could have heard the two of them together....

  • Frankie could sing a fuckin` phone book and bring folks to their feet. Such great talent is rare.......

  • "A swagger ye could hing a washin' on!"

  • So good, just sooooooooooooo good. Goosebumps, neck hair standing up,chill shuddering rock, blues at its very best.

  • our frankie from Glasgow, does the stones song with great gusto!,he's also a fine actor.

  • townes van sandt is still the best version of this song ive heard, sounds a lot better as an acoustic number

  • Esta versão da música Dead Flowers, é uma das melhores que já ouvi, até mesmo que a versão dos Stones....

  • Frankie Miller can sing like f**k! There really isn't much more to say than that.

Gaunyersel Frankie, keep fightin the good fight.

  • I take my hat off to that bloke! He's the greatest singer/songwriter, everything! It's a damn shame and the worlds loss that he is in bad shape right now, the hit's and songs that could have been from this man.... Frankie you rock buddy!

  • WOW.

    Brilliant

  • Frankie........... The best singer/songwriter Guitar player...Scotland Ever produced..Bar None................

  • Brilliance Frankie your the best

  • Gaun yersel son! Get well soon bro! Pure magic!

  • my dad is the one with the blonde telecaster :D

  • u serious dude? thats cool as sh$t

  • I love Frankie's voice....This man is so underrated it's a sin,Hope one day Mr miller you are well enough to be back in the spotlight where you belong,I for one would go and see that gig even if it took place at the end's of the earth,You make me soooooo proud to be Scottish my friend, take care Frankie....Thanks for posting this to mate

  • Unfortunately Frankie's health is such he won't be able to perform ever again...Such a tragedy..he's a top geezer

  • Frankie is the man the greatest singer Scotland ever produced and at least in the top 5 Britain ever produced,Oh and he is a real Scot not like Rod the Mod.

  • OK Seriously. How many cats can beat The Stones at their own game? I ask you?

  • Shame about Frankie's "condition".

    Damn waste.

  • This is feicen brilliant !!!

  • Magnus Tengby-Lead Guitar

    Anders Möller-Rhythm Guitar,Backup Vocals

    Henrik Olin-Bass, Backup Vocals

    Bengt Bygren-Keys

    Anders Wickman-Drums

    Also known as The Few

  • saw frankie miller at the royal oak music theatre back in the day WOW DAMN SUCH AVOICE AND ATALENT THAT IWAS FLOORED BY THE SHOW HE PUT ON MISS YA FRANKIE ANGEL

  • Gawd, I love this song and Frankie!

  • This is recorded for swedish television about

    20 years ago...Though I detected a very handsome

    young drummer-cone there (lol)

the Crocodile Dundee guy is so cool it's scary.

I know his name but wont mention it incase he doesn't

    want to...

  • When ws this - is he, how can I p[ut this nicely, up and about, recovered ffrom his health problems. Saw him so many times in the 70's, got drunk with his bass player once. Frankie Miller better than Riodgers or Gillan

    N

  • Not Kieffer Sutherland on bass or Bonnie Tyler on rythym, but definitely the wee man from Glasgow on vocals! Otis wasn't looking over his shoulders......... he was singing through Frankie's mouth. What a voice. MAGIC

  • Isn't that Crockadile Dundee playing lead.

Who wrote this song??? Anyone know?

  • It's a Stones song written by Jagger/Richards but even as a Stones fan I think Frankie's version is better, Steve Earle did a nice live version as well on "Shut Up And Die Like An Aviator"

  • what are you talking about?? this IS the fuck'n Jack Bouer... dammit!!!

  • Stones version not even close to Frankie.

That boy has got the mojo goin'

  • Stones sing this song with Subtle Arrogance. This is a cool version but i prefer the original

  • Frankie's magic!!!

  • copado che! =D

  • Fckn amazing - Gaun yersl Frankie

  • when did this happen,he was always able to sing quality ,sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo soulful

    get well soon

  • Great song, great singer - Otis Redding's widow wept when she heard him, get well soon Frankie

  • when is he coming to belfast

  • This guy Frankie Miller is so damned good - something between Mick Jagger and John Cougar. I feel that d late Robert Palmer was also in similar mould but of lesser rockability.

  • love this version love u frankie!! what a legend everyone luvs a stones song

  • didn't you know he sang this song before the stones ever did, they copied!!!

  • Yeah, apart from the fact that they wrote it!

Great version, though. Almost as good as The Bullfrogs

  • must've been right before the stroke. Who was playing in Frankie's band then? - I was fortunate to see him with Minhinnet, Chris Stewart, Hall and Deakin back in '77.

  • Great cover...way better than Steve Earle & the Dukes!!

  • From a consert i Stockholm in the 90-th. What a singer !

  • Love this song. I want the mp3 but can't find it.

  • mick would be proud to hear this

  • let Keith be the judge.
