I respect that work of art, so that's why I disrespected the city of Washington D.C. somewhat on this cold and rainy day to see the house from all directions, or do you believe that that chain was a part of mr. Lichtenstein's work?! HS
If you respected the work of art, you wouldn't be encouraging people to step over the chain, therefore ruining the setting. Do you think people want to see you walking around it? No. Do you think "Mr. Lichtenstein" would have wanted that? No, it was entitled "House I", not "House and some guy with a camera wandering around". Furthermore, the more people feel it is okay cross the chain, the sooner people are going to start vandalizing it, littering around it, etc.
I think we have a different attitude to life: you seem to be of the kind that stops even before a red traffic light at 3 o'clock at night in a completely empty village street unlike Mr. Lichtenstein (I presume, him being an artist) or myself. Came from Europe to see this and wanted to see the backside of the moon too. Curiosity is the beginning of all knowledge. There are other more decent pictures of this house (again no capital!) on YT, so go and see those and stop being grumpy. Thank U!
Roy Fox Lichtenstein (27 October 1923 -- 29 September 1997) was a prominent American pop artist, his work heavily influenced by both popular advertising and the comic book style. He himself described Pop art as, "not 'American' painting but actually industrial painting".
The OSU botched it MAJOR in not giving Roy tenure. That's why Columbus Internat'l Airport has his major sculpture, "Brush Strokes in Flight" and the OSU campus is devoid of any of his works.

YouTube says:
"You can't save changes to this video because it has received too many views."
So adding other or removing the sound (which I preferred) is impossible!
¡Disculpe!

you very clearly walked behind the chain you weren't supposed to go behind... very disrespectful of the art and of the city of DC.

it's a giant dragon illusion, except there is a house instead of the dragon :)
As far as I know this idea was patented by some detergent manufacturer, but that was only about boxes
