Bernese Mountain Dogs are so awesome, but its not a dog for beginners, because they are very dominant, but if you know, how to educate and handle them, they are the cutiest and nicest dogs ever...

Berners are the best dog breed out there. My childhood dog was a Berner and she was just the best; highly intelligent, very cuddly, very active and the most loving dog on Earth. They are perfect, especially for families. I miss my girl, but glad I got to share my life with her <3

make sure you train them up, the dog loves to work and it historically pulled small carts with goods on

if you dont burn their energy up, they became withdrawn, aggressive and start to do wierd things around children,

the dog whisperer had a case like that with one

@Court22132 oh please do get one, YOU WONT BE SORRY....they are VERY loving to their family....i have one who is like 6 months old AND I WOULDNT TRADE HIM FOR ANYTHING!....but ofcourse this breed sheds alot so it needs a little work =D....i would suggest you search for some facts about these breed =P....as i said i bet you wouldnt be sorry if you picked one =)

Omg i know how its sad to wait, ive been waiting so much for my first dog.. but tomorrow im going to visit the mother and father of my first berner puppy and first dog! im so excited, did you know that 2 years ago my mother and father said that i was never going to get a dog with them in the house, but look now! Im so excited!

@DogLover1507 It sucked. I have had my dog for a year now =) She is a Border Collie, the second best breed (after Berners of course!). You;re so lucky to get a berner puppy! I would have killed to have one =) My lifetime goal is to have one. Only a year ago my parents said I'd never have a dog while im with them, but hey ive had my dog for now a year =) I hope you have amazing fun with your puppy when you get it! Oh and he will be a "him" and my family wanted a really unique name with an F so we chose "Fold" (Its all the initials of my families name :)

No, not angry at all. I was just sitting watching the video and it was such a surprise to see MY dog! A little sad too because I loved him so very much and he is now gone. It took me a while to work out where the photo came from. I sent the video to my children so the photo is at 1.18. It's a head shot only with almost no background, just a bit of green and he's looking to our right. His name is Louis.

i used to have a berner called dino, we bought him as a puppy while i was a baby and we moved into the house the same day^^ i can truly say if u get one with the right temperament, its a friend ull love forever :) just be ready to rack out lots of food :P

My Best friend has a 1 year old one, great dog. Always friendly<3 do they really suffer from cancer a lot??:( Well, my friend feeds it raw meat and veggies, wich makes the chance to get cancer smaller:)

I got it from my moms friend who was getting rid of all her stuffed animals. I have giants labs, golden retrievers, german shepherds, rottwilers, saint bernards, and my bernese mountain dog. And i think i have more.

I would love to get a Berner. I would if i could. Right now me and my mom almost have my dad convinced in getting us an australian shepherd. I heard alot of berners die young cause of cancer. My dad would never wnat a berner, they shed alot haha. But i would love one. Theyre my favorite kind of dog. My dad also wants a smaller dog like a aussie or a border collie. But i would love a berner!

Yeah, Boomer is our second Berner. Our first one died of cancer she was only 4 so you're right. And people can be so cruel, Nana, our first, was the sweetest, calmest dog, ,and someone shot her! Yeah! Luckily it was with a bee bee gun and she didn't die from that, but it was still really mean.

I would never be able to train a puppy and bond with it so muich and then have it die of cancer at a young age, that would break my heart! Someone shot her? That is pretty mean tho. If i saw someone shoot a dog even with a bee bee gun i would spaz on them.

My Bernese, Harvey died last May at the grand old age of 13, he was gorgeous, gentle, charming, intelligent and the best of dogs.

Oh, and tell your Dad that they don't shed much at all, and certainly nothing like the amount of an Australian Shepherd would.

cause i was wondering if housebreaking is easy with german shepherds. I know EVERYTHING about dogs but ive never really had them so i dont really know if german shepherds housetrain easily. Ive read that they do.

Yea, actually she was like 7 months old, but i could give you the website of the breeder if you want, (that was where i got my dog) they breed amazing german shepherds and can house train them for you if you want :]

haha yea, she old now but we love her! :]German shepherds are Great dogs, but they are very protective of you. so if you get one be prepared to deal with the dog barking at the cars when they come in your driveway :] Good luck in getting a dog!! :]
