  • faith who

  • Wow I thought it was a woman sing this song!

  • out. of. control. vocals. what an incredible performance

  • But its about more than loss isn't it? - it's about betrayal and emotional 'payback'. And that strikes an amazing chord with women. You've only got to see the responses on Faith's video to see that she's touched a chord (with woimen).. Without Faith - this song would never have seen the light of day. All credit to Angie though for writing it .....

  • He is amazing! Wow there is so much depth to this version.

  • there is so much emotion in his voice.

  • This should end the debate - Faith = Autotuned. Angie = NOT.

  • @lowballexpress You are now a hero to me!

  • Great singing on this with the right amount of emotions behind it! 10***

    Keep them coming.

    Skerv

  • Very nice. Passionate and love the way he

    delivers the song.......... poignant~

    Excellent.

  • awesome share! peace2u. eric

  • his voice sends chills to my spine. he has so much passion to sing.

  • Not as big on this version as his album version.

With all the Angie Vs. Faith talk, I have to say: one reason I prefer Angie singing it is that it's more distinctive being sung by a man.

Women, especially in Country music, sing "I'm torn to shreds by the loss" songs all the time. It's great to hear a man sing a song like this... we men don't discuss it as much, but we've been burned just as hot, and it hurts just as bad.

  • he has a neal young quality to him

  • You cant really appreciate Angie until you see him live with his guitar. He slays the crowd every time. What a fantastic songwriter.

  • Yeah, his overproduced album, the american, doesn't do him justice.

  • oh no, no, no, praise be to the songwriter. never must we compare to a performer vs. a songwriter. Angie was the mother who birthed it - Faith is the surrogate (a noble role but still not mamma)!

  • Angie you are great

  • angies version #1

  • I went to one of his shows and I got to meet him and I got his autograph. He is a relly nice guy.(As for the autograph it is proudly framed and is hanging over my bed.)

  • Listen to it on his album, The American. Much better than this or Faith Hill's version.

  • God this is awful! I love his performance with Faith, but he is just butchering the melody of the song! I guess I just like Faith's version better. The melody is just so much prettier. I like his voice though. I will say that.

  • The American is one of my favorite albums. I wish it had gotten more exposure.

  • As much as I love Angie, I have to say that Faith definitely did a GREAT cover. I understand that people are very defensive of the original, but Faith's vocals pack so much pain and emotion into the lyrics, so I definitely think she does the song justice. However, when they sing the song together, that's definitely the best.

  • Hearing this song sung in person is amazing. He's one of the koolest people I've ever watched in concert. His voice... it just finds a special place with each person that hears it!

  • What I love about this song is that it's so beautiful how he sings it. I see so many people comparing him and Faith Hill and I don't think there's any competition. As much as I love them both, his version is so amazing and mellow; the way it's meant to be but he still gets the point of the song across to the listeners. I think Faith's version is so powerful and loud, too much for this song.

  • I think that they both sing the song incredibly in their own ways. The world cannot have two singers who sound the same or sing the same song the same way, that would b so boring and jst terrible. Angie gets credit for the song, I mean we all know that Faith Hill doesn't write all of her songs. I think that Angie and Faith both have different voiced that can b mixed with anything to sound incredibly, in their own way. They are both incredible at this song and BOTH deserve recognition.

  • outstanding!!!!

  • Cept you can't buy the album...they don't sell it anymore.

  • Angie > Faith

  • I guess someone changed the lyrics in the bridge along the way

  • angie aparo, the god behind the song "cry", it's a shame the recognition doesn't go to it's rightful owner. But have a little FAITH, his time will come...excellent cd..keep plugging angie

  • Faith Hill is a huge fan of Angie Aparo but she has a right to do a song the way she wants. They're both great!

  • Love, love, love Angie! Amazing song...off one of my top 5 favorite albums "The American"...

  • Faith and Angie are both amazing singers. End of story. seriously you guys make a big deal of something so stupid.

  • Yeah, Faith is a good singer too...I was a fan of hers before she became cool. But she sang this crappy IMO.

  • I think Faith sang "Cry" very very well.

  • for your info Faiths version is very very good!! he is an amzing singer i have to say!

  • Ummm...it seems like he sings this song differently then he originally did. Like he's trying to mimic Faiths crappy version? Gggrrr....Angie be yourself damit.

  • Faith sings it better than him.

  • There's no way on this planet or any other that Faith Hill has ever, ever sang this song better than Angie. I am a huge Faith fan... but you have got to give the man his due. If you've ever heard Angie's original version of Cry (from the album "The American"), I defy you to maintain that Faith Hill's version is better. Check out the original version. Hell, buy the whole album. It's one of the most underrated rock/pop albums in the last 15 years.

  • well I defy you and say for SURE that Faith Hills version is better. That is one of the most beautiful songs and she definitely puts more emotion into it than he does and it sounds beautiful with her voice. His is kinda boring. However, I've listened to his wonderland song and I've come to the conclusion that he is a great songwriter with a great voice who probably sings most of his songs better than anyone else. But you gotta give it up for cry and Faith.

  • Um... no. THIS version, the TBS Storyline version, is comparable to Faith's. HOWEVER, the original version from Angie's album "The American" is far better than Faith's. In fact, when you listen to hers you can tell she had to scale back some of the notes because they were on the fringes of her range. She was barely handling the song. And furthermore, Faith's version changes the lyrics... and distorts the meaning of the song just a bit.

  • No way. Faith does give the melody something it deserves that he doesn't. He is quite incredible from the wonderland song I listened to on here. I'm not saying he's not amazing. But it's possible even for an amazing singer to be outdone even on their own song that they wrote. You can have your opinion, I kind of understand that his version is a little more delicate and all emcompassing. But her beautiful voice and the amazing emotion she puts into it in this song...

  • .....gives the song another dimension that he couldn't pull off. They are both good in their own ways, but I wouldn't want to live in a world without her version of the song. You've got to understand that a great singer like Angie probably does most of his songs better than anyone else ever could, but he's bound to come across one that could be done equally well by someone else, even though it came out of his soul, and he's probably very glad that Faith gave it that different element

  • I wholeheartedly agree. I give Angie credit for having written the song and having done a nice version, but I think Faith Hill just gave Cry something incredible that wasn't there originally. The version they sing together is AWESOME because Faith's voice is awesome and Angie's harmonies rock.

  • Actually, this performance sounds nothing like Faith Hill's version of the song??? It is actually completely different. I really like his version of it but, to be honest, I like Faith's version much better. The vocals of Faith's performance of "Cry" are so powerful and emotionallly driven which is the reason that she won a Grammy for it.

  • Angie Aparo, you rock :)

  • Beautiful!
