reason why is the big v8s you dont have to spend a whole lot of money to get the power your lookin for they come with plenty of hp and tq right out of the crate, and this way there also alot more reliable cause you dont have to mod the enitre motor and take parts to there limits..

no.drifting isnt about power. you need high RPMs. v8s cant have high RPMs because they have large pistons. you need a light car, v8s are heavy, and you need japanese set suspension. you can have a stock ae86 with a turbo, and put vaugn gittin jr in it, and hed kill this mustang if ken block was driving it. he has skill, and ford pays him out the ass.

Power is achieved in two ways RPM and torque, a big bloc V8 will have much higher torque than a small block v6 so you can still get a lot of wheel spin. I don't know much about drifting but breaking the tires loose is all about high torque

actually, it is drifting, drifting is taking a car and over steering to cause the back wheels to lose traction and slide the rear of the car so it is at a greater angle then the front of the car by the apex of the corner. you also must have a high exit speed for it to be called "drifting"

now dont get mad cuz american muscle is putting it to the ricers on their home turf.

drifting has nothing to do with the brand of car you drive, its all about how you drive it

I dont think so. because your explanation, basically says it would be better for a front wheel drive car, to drift, which isnt drifting, its powersliding. real drift cars that would kill that mustang no matter if an 8 yr old was driving: AE86, S13, S14, S15, STi, skyline, s2000. what do all those cars have in common? there weight ratio is 50/50. there stock gear ratios are PERFECT for driting.
