I am a TSTC-Harlingen alumni of the EMS program and graduated with my AAS, NREMT-P, LP. I have been in the field for three years and I enjoy every bit of my profession. I've had a call very similar to this simulated scenario and they're never easy to coupe with. I am taking a new path towards my EMS instructors at my alumni and I hope to get the chance to implement more of scenarios like these into the program to give my students a great experience.
I have participated in this event, it is a lot of fun and a GREAT learning experience for our students. They work with the fire department, Air Evac, and other ambulance companies in Abilene. the lessons learned from this event are invaluable in the field!
It's reassuring to see this sort of forward-thinking disaster training. It's obvious that this event has been coordinated with other agencies. Talk about a meaningful, relevant student experience!
