I love drippy icing cakes! Yes, Andrea is from here in Canada (she is amazing)! You did a wonderful job relicating that! As far as using an impression mat, I think it is the MMF that doesn't hold it's shape as well as the satin ice. For the balloon maybe get heavier wire? Your baby is sweet!! Now I can't wait until mine is born in September! I will have 3 kids :)
Congratulations Purbasha! And well done in doing a cake with a newborn by your side! I'm sure this will be the first of many more cakes for your little son ; ) Andrea
@mackandnorm , thanks. i am glad u liked it. Well yeah it was hard innitially ..at one point i thought i bit more than i could chew..but at the end it all came together. i am extremely happy how it came out. I am looking forward to more caking for my son.
I love it Purbasha! This is adorable! Congratulations on your baby turning one month old! No wonder you've been busy! You have a new little one! God bless you and your beautiful baby! :)
Hi Purbasha! Congrats on the new arrival, he's adorable, Great cake also. Yes MMF has a mind on it own, i watched a video on here and the lady did not use water when making the MMF as a result it came more elastic, see if that helps! Happy Caking, Sharon xx
@Lilartcakes, thank u. Well yeah i know.. it was tough to make a cake with a newborn and it took me forever. At one point i thought i bit more than i could chew...but luckily that day my son co-operated too. I guess he smelled something was being made for his honor :)
somone told me to use corn syrup while making the fondant to make it more workable... will give a test run and hope to see some results.
Purbasha love your cake it looks yummy! The deco is cute and for some reason I love your strawberries lol. Aww and your baby is so adorable! BTW how do you make chocolate mm fondant?
@CCherise , hey thanks. I am glad to hear that u like my cake. Yeah, its time and energy consuming to make all those gumpaste accessories... then i end up saving them..but find no right use. same with the strawberries...i loved them too.
I will email u th recipe for chocolate MM fondant.
Hi, your baby is gorgeous :D and so is the cake! I haven't tried it yet but I was told to add glucose syrup (corn syrup in the US) to the MM fondant to make it easier to work with.
This cake looks great Purbasha! I really can't help with the impression problem...as I've never made fondant, I always buy it. Such a cute cake though!
OMG Purbasha this cake is so cute but your son is even more adorable! Congrats on your son and good luck it's a lot of work but well worth it. I have 3 so I know how hard it is. I love your cake and all the decorations. Awsome job!!!
Awesome cake! Wow, I can't believe you found the time with your be baby just being one month. As for the balloons falling over, I had the same problem with heavier pieces, but try using a thicker gauge wire and that should hold them.
Your son is beautiful, it seemed that he enjoyed his cake too! ;)
@sexxygirl66, thank u. Yeah i thk i was super ambitious abt this project. At one point i thought i bit more than i could chew. But, this time i really did some planning. I made all the gumpaste stuff ahead of time, infact even before my son was born. Thanks on the tip for the balloons. I will try with a thicker wire next time.
congratulations baby so cute.....
