To be honest, I think BFME2 is better. I am reading the hobbit and is way better than watching all three of the lord of the rings movies. BFME2 is based on the hobbit and I quite prefer those battles over orcs and humans/elves and a dwarve.

the only archers I had were the elf reinforcements, but I had a ton of horsemen running back and froth on the wall so they trampled anyone who clibmed the ladder. I ahnihilated so much that I spent 6 minutes just standing in the keep waiting for them to finally blow up the wall. Unfortuneatley when my Eomer's army came they some how got kilel dright away even though I had the most pumped up army, ever.
lol come to think of it, I did it exactly like in the movie, even with the horsemen charging down helms deep from the keep as a last stand... besides the fact that eomer's army died it was almost exactly like the movie :P
i find that the easiest way to beat this level is by sending 4 battalions of archers with fires arrows to the camps before the enemy comes because they wont build the camps the whole level even if you die if you were there then if you prevent that it is automatic victory

first time i played this mission , i failed totally , forgot the elves outside so i like : wtf?! when the red dot appeared xD , but now it's a cake , just put 2 peasant at the gate (Repair:D) and the wall , shot the mines ( not fire arrows than they'll explode on the first hit) you can put some archers(elven) on the deeping wall , and maybe like 5 troops of yeoman behind the deeping wall so they'll fire at the uruk's coming up the ladders :) 5/5 annyoing music tho..
Super fun level! Just like the whole game BFME1! BFME2 is a more balanced fair game but this one is fun because it recreates great battles from the movies so well!
At first I found this level hard, but now I can beat it pretty easily. All you have to remember is to kill ALL ladders before they reach your walls and to kill ALL mines before they get close to your walls, and the rest is cake:)

imo this mission is too easy even on hard. Try what i successfully did. BUILD NO troops at all during the mission. You may keep the elves and the other troops you automaticly get but nothing else. Upgrades is allowed (but ofc you can get fire arrows cause you cant build any archers)

I played this game again this week, after a long time. I thought i was being smart by this time destroying most of the enemy before they even set up their camp properly. Big mistake. Now i'm at Helms Deep without the special powers i had last time i played this game. I can place a forest, but i can't summon anything. I've got a maxed out group of horseman, but they won't show up for a while.

I usual do this , Men on the gate , and ( not at the gate cuz i like when they brake trough =) ) and put elves BEHIND the deeping wall and let them come up and get shoted down when they run down the stairs , oh ... like sword elves in the front and archers behind them...
and it's fun when thye blow up wall than u just charge whit the elves + aragorn/legolas/gimli:)

to be honest you fight like crap, of course I don't know which level you play (I usually play Easy, because I'm to lazy to do some real tactics)
But you should take out the Ladders they bring the first, after that kill the archers, then take it easy and kill them ;)
And Always keep an eye out for Bombs, Legolas should take these down with a Double-shot since if the Elves (with fire arrows) shoot them the wall brakes as well...
Horse archers are way better than spear horseman. I never have to look out for them, but with spear horseman, I have to make sure there's no uruk pikemen around first which is tiring, while the Horse archers can take down anyone.
It's quite funny, when I played this, the deeping wall was breached and I was fighting for the keep, on my knees, and somehow with a couple of elves on the wall, 10 swordsmen and aragorn I pushed the uruks all the way onto the big bridge outside the gate, then realised I could have called Eomere about 10 mins ago lol

i found that if i destroyed the buildings behind the wall and build farms that you can generate alot more men. Also i shoot the mine before it reaches the wall and if it does i just have all my elves retreat behind the wall and charge at anything that's left with swords (like the movie)
You could attack the ladders first and if they reached the walls attack it with the heroes or shoot it down...for the mines because they appear everywhere at anytime (no suggestions) maybe this could work for people...
my tactis is the best, put the elves on the higher level, heroes down at the gate, and fuck the long wall, its kinda impossible to hold it and remain control with your armyu
ha i used to play that a lot the movie is really awesome that i really love this battle.XDusually i put all hero outside and all archers stays on the wall. the computer seldom attacks the main gate and i just put five horse rider there. once i let them take over the whole city and just defense the main castle. it seems like impossible to take over that party of the cityXD.i tried to use the suicide bomb thing to attack there for like 10 times and it wont be destoryed LOL
Best thing to do is have a rally point to the wall and ep creating Elven Archers, if they breach the Deeping Wall then fall back to the keep wall Legolas and loads of Elves and Yeomans killed a load trying to get to the keep.
Also build two wells up at the keep to constantly heal your troops.i had it on easy but oh well xD

Yeah, you need to focus on the left side isn't it? They don't bother breaking trough your gate because they've got that bomb. I've just lost so that's why I'm watching this. :P
reenforce the bridges then use calvery to wipe out incomeing forces. put archers on bridge comb with tower guards and keep making calverty or make lots calvry in farimirs army b4 that battle and then use his to bobmbard the last camp.
did wyou use a cheat or something? what kind of cheat was it command point resoursces? f you did what the hell is it it took me a month to beat that battle. so please tell me the cheat

Aah, BFME 1. What a great game. It's so much better than the second one don't you agree? Anyway, nice vid, this is my favorite battle in this game and I've replayed it like 600 times! At first I had trouble beating it, but once you get used to the enemys' movements it's easy. Anyway, I had this battle saved to play it whenever I wanted, but accidentally deleted it! Well in conclusion sweet graphics, odd music (It sounds German, EEK DUH!) and an awesome vid. :)
i prefer to kill of ewoyn and boromir, so the level plays out more like the movie. Then, i play it out like the story, having all the characters and units placed according to where they are supposed to. Then at the end when im at the keep i make some rohirrim units and put theoden on a horse and do one final charge before eomer arrives. I do all this to make the level harder then it really is and it makes the battle more real.

i did on hard its not hard the secret is just to get rid of the mines and the siege materials and that it and keep fixing ur gate

when i player this first time i beated it but in defenses of helms deep left only legolas at only on left wall and one elven battallion (sword) securing the gate. second time the left walls got mins...so it isnt too easy.

Yeah, you need to focus on the left side isn't it? They don't bother breaking trough your gate because they've got that bomb. I've just lost so that's why I'm watching this. :P

reenforce the bridges then use calvery to wipe out incomeing forces. put archers on bridge comb with tower guards and keep making calverty or make lots calvry in farimirs army b4 that battle and then use his to bobmbard the last camp.

what game u playin battle for middle earth 1 because u can only get it on battle for middle earth 1 in campaign mode nd u have to do eomers levels to build up ur army of rohirrim and watch the timer on the left top coner go down. hope thats any help to ya

em you do get haldir all you need to do is download elevenstar mod onto battle for middle earth and you have loads more heroes and gameplay
strategy plus campaign mod changes a bit, if thats any halp to any one,

Aah, BFME 1. What a great game. It's so much better than the second one don't you agree? Anyway, nice vid, this is my favorite battle in this game and I've replayed it like 600 times! At first I had trouble beating it, but once you get used to the enemys' movements it's easy. Anyway, I had this battle saved to play it whenever I wanted, but accidentally deleted it! Well in conclusion sweet graphics, odd music (It sounds German, EEK DUH!) and an awesome vid. :)

i prefer to kill of ewoyn and boromir, so the level plays out more like the movie. Then, i play it out like the story, having all the characters and units placed according to where they are supposed to. Then at the end when im at the keep i make some rohirrim units and put theoden on a horse and do one final charge before eomer arrives. I do all this to make the level harder then it really is and it makes the battle more real.
