Sandra Bullock was so powerful and strong and emotional. She deserves an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress, but her chances of getting nominated aren't good with all the other good performances. I was at the theatres yesterday waiting for New Year's Eve to come on. Everyone was talking alot during the trailers, then this came on & as soon as the kid said "Tuesday, September 11" everyone went silent.
Seems like a tear jerker & I've heard this is a good book. Looking forward to watching it :)

Sandra Bullock looks OUTSTANDING in this trailer!! Oscar Buzz for sure, for her! Max von Sydow, Zoe Caldwell and Viola Davis too (Viola Davis, mostly for The Help). I'm Extremely Excited for this film. I loved Billy Elliot, The Hours and The Reader, I'm sure Daldry won't disappoint me.
The book is really one of the best books I've read, yet even if the movie strays completely from the book, I still have faith it will be a well put together movie.

Is it just me or does this seem a lot like "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" (book)/ "Hugo" (film). Think about it. Both deal with a relationship of a boy and his father. The father dies. The boy is left with a task to complete because it is all that he has left of him. And the whole emphasis of the key is also present in "Hugo." Not saying it's bad (I can't wait to see it), just curious.
You guys, this is a book written a while ago, and his dad died in 9/11. It was a brilliant book and 9/11 wasn't the main point, but it WAS in the book.....so why would they keep that out? I personally haven't seen something about 9/11 in a while, chill out.

The storyline includes the events of 911: the towers, the planes, the leaping. The storyline, however, is not based on 911. How many times have you read this book, if you don't mind me asking?

I wonder what the families and friends of people who lost friends and relatives in the world trade center feel about Hollywood making movies based around this horrible incident and making money off their pain and grief. I think that they need to back off and go back to the drawing board and knock this shit off, it's horrible....I know its been 10 years since it happened but there has to be people out there who are still emotionally crippled by it.

Sandra Bullock looks OUTSTANDING in this trailer!! Oscar Buzz for sure, for her! Max von Sydow, Zoe Caldwell and Viola Davis too (Viola Davis, mostly for The Help). I'm Extremely Excited for this film. I loved Billy Elliot, The Hours and The Reader, I'm sure Daldry won't disappoint me.

Is it just me or does this seem a lot like "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" (book)/ "Hugo" (film). Think about it. Both deal with a relationship of a boy and his father. The father dies. The boy is left with a task to complete because it is all that he has left of him. And the whole emphasis of the key is also present in "Hugo." Not saying it's bad (I can't wait to see it), just curious.

You guys, this is a book written a while ago, and his dad died in 9/11. It was a brilliant book and 9/11 wasn't the main point, but it WAS in the book.....so why would they keep that out? I personally haven't seen something about 9/11 in a while, chill out.
