  • Beutiful take on that spectacular song!! I was singing over your version and it is exactly like the original...loved it !!! (sol - Argentina)

  • killer man one thing when i play it i use the 12 string annoying to tune but i feel the sound is worth it but great job

  • 2 years. Great job, Bro' !

  • looks like a nerd...

  • @IANGILLAN56 a nerd? A nerd who plays led zeppelin? not , he his a awesome guy who plays good music

  • The live tuning is EADADE. You have to tune an acoustic down a whole step(studio version) DGCGCD or it puts undue stress on the neck and maybe a busted string..

    Nice job Cooper

  • Coll video bro

  • I have that guitar to except we had ours refinished to look like Jimmy Pages SG double neck

  • Awesome skill, nice one.

And an excellent song, although I love the acoustic sound of the original.

    Keep up the good job

  • play it on the other neck

  • Excellent job bro, and for a 16 year old! One word of advice though, don't take this as harsh, you need to seriously shed about 45 pounds. To be a rocker you got to be in good shape too. You have potential.

  • Wow little Brother. I think Jimmy would be proud a kid like you is still inspired by his work. You are obviously a Zep fan! Please keep it up! You are really good! Makes me happy to think that perhaps you will continue on and write some great music yourself!

  • That was so beautiful!! Wow, You did that very well.

  • that was great!

  • EXCELLENT!

  • great technique

  • nice guitar, but i think the camera dude is drunk. no offence...

  • That's a wonderful cover.

  • you look 50 years old not 16

  • and your point?

  • It's bizarre i would think is the point being made.

  • Is the tuning live or recording version?

  • This is the tuning he used for both I'm almost positive. I have seen this song live and it's the same tuning.

  • When Jimmy played live, he played this song up a step so it could be tuned more easily back to standard tuning for playing Stairway To Heaven later in the show, with the live tuning only 2 strings need to be retuned where as with the studio version, 5 strings need to be retuned to get back to standard.

  • @DxRox22 also allows for the rest of the band to be intune

  • @leetcoops16 the album is in D-G-C-G-C-D and the live is E-A-D-A-D-E :)

  • @leetcoops16 You sure? I don't know, i've been told he used DGCGCD for the recording, but live he used it a step higher, or EADADE, that's what i've been told by larzgallows, but anyway, i haven't seen them live and you did, so you're probably right XD

  • @leetcoops16 The studio recording was in the key of G, and the live version (in The Song Remains the Same) was tuned up a full step, and was in the key of A.

  • @leetcoops16 the album tuning and live tuning are diffrent mate! play along the studio version with the live tuning

  • look

  • y use a 12 string if ur gna use an effect to make it sound like a 12 string??

  • it would be a pain in the ass to tune it.

  • hes using the double neck because Jimmy Page used it. Jimmy page used it because during live performances he would go right into the rain song after the song remains the same (which he would play on the 12 string neck) So that way they didn't have to stop to retune or change guitars

  • ye i no but dis aint a live performance and he aint jus playd the song remains the same lool so he cuda jus usd a normal guitar

  • Yeah? So? Sure he coulda played it on a regular guitar. The two neck is the only guitar that allows for that unique sympathetic harmonic. It gives his performance a more individualized sound you can't get on a regular guitar. Besides, many guitarist would gladly give a left teste for a double neck...yeah they are that cool....for us guitarists.....

  • oh rite its an ibanez looks like a gibson by the look of the headstock

  • wow! ur so rich 3 years and u already have a gibson double neck SG.

  • it's an ibanez

  • a touch of chourus? try a fuck load

  • you rock

  • great cover man such a beautiful song

  • haha this is the guitar ive been dreaming about this week

wats the year on this one? ive been looking at the same ibanez, from 1975

  • wow man that was incredable this song is so hard 2 learn and youve only been playin 4 two years thats awesome keep it up man

  • your 16? you look about 40

  • @rideeastern184 Youtube -

They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • @rideeastern184 really LOL

  • took me 10 yrs to play this song right,

  • Pretty cool. Nice tune!

  • that was fantastic.

  • Thanks for all the positive comments!

  • lovely sound, what tunning are you using?

  • 1st D

    2nd C

    3rd G

    4th C

    5th G

    6th D

  • ýou are 16 years old?

  • very nice:)

  • my dad uses ibanez too.b and beautiful 2N you got there.

  • beautiful man.

im going to steal your guitar,

sooo where do you live, so i know

    what house im breaking into

  • Nice job man, here's my attempt at it. Love this song!!

  • you have some money din't you... all your guitars are awesome..

  • lovely :)

  • Hey, great cover. I think your phrasing is almost perfect and definitely the best cover of that song I have seen on here. Thanks!

  • well done but 0:57 to about 1:12...that section is played so that the note gradually rises...

so basicall on the low D the first fretting is on the second, but it slowly goes up 3, 4, 5, and then that is where that riff repetition ends.

nice job tho and rad guitar

  • OK, it wasn't your vid, JEEZ, layin' off the booze now... ahem...

    Cheers & thanks!!

  • Oops, just saw your other standard tuning version...Thanks for this, very well done...

  • Great stuff! I love those guitars, I have a December 77 2402WH, but my 12 str pickups are the gold ones, looks like yours are either replaced with some other ones, or maybe it just came that way?? My 6str p/u's are the same as yours.

Hey, in your next vid of this song, please ask your (dad) cameraman to do a close up of your left hand, so the lame among us can learn the song from you...

    Cheers.

  • that was good...the only thing is that it would be better if you used the 12 string instead of the 6 string

  • Yeah, out of all the live videos ive seen from page, he always plays it on his 6-string. Another thing is tunning the two B strings on a 12-string up to a C seems to always break one of the Bs. But i do think it would sound a little nicer on a 12.

  • That's because he uses the 12 string to play THe Song Remains The Same.

  • genius the best band of the history is led zeppelin forever

  • missing some ascending bass notes in the repeated fill at about 1:00 section...

  • Great playing ! But sack your cameraman..

  • Thanks man, However I don't think I can fire my dad. =P
