  • and... it doesnt move. so its not a rorshack mask, its just a white mask with paint on it.

  • Why go through all that trouble? Get the same tights that you used, put a price of paper inside of them. Then open up an ink pen and blow the ink all over the front of the mask, then fold it in half. You know... like a REAL ink blot is made? It just seems to make more sense than tying to draw something symmetrical by hand...and failing at it...

  • I reckon it wouldn't make it any better if you told the people at the store you were going to color it and wear it like a mask...

  • I got a paint can(to hold the mask) and sharpie(to make the mask) and both of those worked. Thnx :)

  • i want that t-shirt

  • "lightly shading... no wait... rubbing the crap out of everything"

  • i asked my mum last night to get me some of those tights for the mask..... im currently trying to brake back into my house!

  • Lmao this is so fucking funny

  • tights, yeah, you're gonna look a paedophile buying these..fun

  • great video and yeah i was with my mom and little sister getting the tights i could feel the awkwardness in the air thank god my mom bought them. lol

  • i don't have scissors -.-

  • It isn't moing?

  • so...rorschach wore tights on his head?

  • if I don't have a head mold like you have what else could I use? or better yet where could I get a head mold?

  • @Marvelfreak08 I've seen that a small trashcan can work, but not as good.

  • not fun at all. haha.

  • Just saw the moving Rorschach masks on Ebay! Do you know how to make those? Guess I'm buying one....

  • sniffing sharpie how wonderfull

  • "You got a girlfriend; a wife; a mom... Anything to avoid buying this by yourself, please God, use them."

    LOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • "You're going to look like a pedophile, buying these".... XD

  • magnets?

  • You are freaking hilarious... just so you know

  • Think my mask is too tight my eye lashes get caught in the fabric of the tights and its irritating as hell : /

  • 2:01 nice wolverine ! ^^

this is a good video !

  • i have dark brown eyes and i just cut small eyeholes

  • Sweet video, have question. Could you use balloon or paper Mashe' as a base?

    Lol at your paedophile comment.

  • lol look like a pedophile

  • I wear glasses so I cannot even do this damn costume anymore! Eff, Eff, Eff!

  • I wear glasses and I don't have contacts either but I'm still making a rorschach costume... waited to the last minute so now I cant find any good brown feroras

  • Contacts.

  • Ha ha ha most entertaining how to video ever!!!!

  • So true bout the scissors!

  • I made mine out of two old tube socks that i cut and sewed together. and used acrylic ink for the blots. looks more material authentic then stockings. and to get that bit of grey that IS there it was slightly damp when i painted it. i can see thru it without seeing my facial features. all i need to find is a damn fedora

  • Try Hot Topic or Spencer's

  • I got one for free. my ex just happened to have the one i needed. lol

  • dude u r awesome and funny

  • thers 20 wal marts in nyc

  • Theres no Wal marts in NYC

  • thank you thats what i needed to know

  • you can also just buy a Rorschach Costume on 80's tees

  • Right opinion red see thru cancels life has rabies a lso gay jk canman

     happy

  • nice man!

    you're funny xD

  • i'm using tree layers, 2 white and one balck, the black really helps hide my identity, thou i didn't use the butt(lol) portion instead i used the legs, they fit my head well and its easyer to see out of, but man the foam head thing is a really good idea jtrain thanks for all these tips ...i'm getting way early for halloween

  • No, genius, they thought I was an underage terrorist.

  • wow nice

  • I didn't see that brand at Wal-mart, so I got some white "sandalfoot pantyhose" which I'm hoping will work. Unfortunately they have a name brand on the waistband, and seams which I will try to hide off to the side by the ears. BTW I used the self checkout, so no embarassment. :D

  • you do know they have someone watching those too, right?

  • The tights proved too tight for me anyway so I ended up hand-sewing a mask (a cowl really) out of stretchy cotton cloth, also that way I don't look ridiculous if I take my hat off. I still used the same method to draw the pattern as he describes here, though.

  • I'll have to try this because frankly all of the masks I've looked at for sale look worse than this, have eye holes, or are latex. The only drawback to this one is the black marker is a bit splotchy looking, not very solid. Maybe just have to go over it a few more times?

  • if u wanna save out on the humilliation off bying tights and or asking ur mum/sister/gf. to get or giv u some just use a plain wight T-shirt they work just as gud btw nice job

  • actually you'll only get high from the sharpie if you wear it immidiently after you make the mask. if you give it a few days to dry you should be fine.

  • Exactly. I used Sharpie on mine and I was fine. But then a mall security guard came up and told me to take it off halfway through the day XP.

  • yeah...probably not a good idea to wear that into any store...good way to get stabbed. i dont think the owners will find it funny

  • I wore it to an anime event in my local mall. Everyone thought it was awesome except for some little kids who were a little scared. The mall cop came up after the event (I had kept it on and was pretty far away from that store) and told me I could wear it in stores but not in the mall area. I just took the whole costume off then cause it was HOT as HELL.

  • I wore it to a festivle in berlin. Everyone was like, "Jesus Christ, that guy is either a terrorist or an american!"

  • @LivingDeadVideos that is hilariously amazing xD

  • do u have any suggestions on the rest of the cloths

  • goodwill is your friend I got all the stuff there for like 22 bucks pants trenchcoat hat gloves the whole shebangebang (thats a fun word)

  • Would using tracing paper help with the...uhhh... tracing thing?

  • I just use plain old paper it works fine for me

  • rorschach is so fucking awesome thank u so much 4 making this ill b sure 2 steal some tights from my little sister

  • Pretty good... You gave me an idea. Thanks! 5*

  • This is actually a really good tutorial with a good product. As many people probably said before me, I would use double layering or maybe a pair of black tights underneath to cover the skintone, but you mention this in the video too so it's not that big a deal.

    Awesome work!

  • looks like your gonna rob a store

  • Rorschach doesn't wear tights...

    0_o

  • Your right. He wears a dress.

  • LOL.

  • over all it's a pretty good idea

  • i can see your skin... I think double layering it hides it more, but that just me...

  • yeah, using a black tight underneath hides your skin color better.

  • lol cool video , haha being a girl I wont need to worry bout the purchasing of tights part.

  • dammit i kept paying attetion to mp optimus prime which version is that?

  • the 20th anniversery dvd edition

  • IT MAKES U LOOK HAPPY!!!!

  • You forgot the step where you try on the tights and dance around.

  • i wanna make the mask but i don't wanna buy the tights. lol.

  • Is the paint marker simerlar to a sharpie or somthing

  • no its completely different

  • lol took notes all through your video and it really helped im making mine so thanks

  • im using textile paint . to me it works great when working with thermochromic materials . i looked at walmart and they had no idea what i was talking about . i got my tettile paint at dick blicks art store in chicago . also great vid good humor .and this was one of the vids that inspired me to make real moving masks thanks jtrain

  • I want to make a mask so I can wear it at comic con. But I need to know what black marker brand you used for the tights.

  • I dont remember the brand a black odorless textile marker from walmart it cost 2 bucks thats all I got

  • Well would any fabric marker work?

  • I dont know I havent tried any other on my mask

  • well i´ll try your idea first thanks.

  • how do you see through that

  • its just very thin so its easy to see through

  • I have that shirt too.. hehe

  • Your hilarious haha

  • but witch marker do you use to do on the tights

  • textile

  • As long as the tights are opaque, does that mean you can see through no matter what the denier is? For example, if I got 40 denier opague tights, would I still be able to see through?

  • I really dont know what denier is opaque I think is the easiest to see because of the way its stiched

  • why were you doing this at 4 in the morning

  • couldnt sleep

  • I have that Watchmen shirt too!!

  • im not gonna wear tights over my head especially if its girl tights......is there any other thing i can use besides girl tights??????

  • emm spandex maybe?

  • LMFAO.

Someone's uncomfortable with their sexuality. Or 12 years old. Or both. =/

  • I'm lucking! I'm a girl so I can buy tights. :)

  • If it's not even...well, you'll look retarted

  • Lmao !!

    Love It.

  • this was a great way to make a rorschach mask but may i note that get the same pair of tights but get them in black it helps so people cant see ur face

  • That's AWSOME!

  • dude where did u find ur coat??? i am having trouble finding mine!

  • 1:20 I lol'd

  • I have the trench coat, but i only got a ski mask and i lost my hat

  • Great tutorial. Certainly kept me interested with your commentary about buying the tights and such. =) Thanks for the thorough walkthrough--- 5 stars.

  • this is awsome im going to make one. rorschach is the best character im a big fan of the graphic novel and the movie. awsome dude

    0:01

  • dude, it sucks. i had to buy tights for my second mask yesterday. when i went to the register, she rang up the tights and then just realized that me, a boy, was buying tights. She didn't seem to care, but when i was leaving, she went to talk to one of her frends that worked there and stated talkin about me! It was expected, but what ever that was left of me stayed in that store.

  • why dude? why do u have to be so fucking pissed off at my comment??????? i was just being human by sharing wat happened to me. man, go jack off in a corner you prick.

  • lol! awsome response! also, dont be worried about how other people think of you, when they truyl get to know you, they will like you...

  • Well, you know what you do now?

Walk in wearing the mask and costume :D !

Go up to the EXACT same lady and buy anything and just go(make sure you read her name tag) "Hello ___, remember me?"

    Do it in you're creepiest voice :D :D :D

    very funny

  • hey, good idea man! thx, i think i will do tht! haha! u no wat im gonna post a vid of myself in costume b4 i go. thats pretty badass man.

  • I feel your pain. When I bought white nylon stockings, I went 3 towns away so no one would know me. the lady at the register gave me a look.

  • So the textile marker (black one) doesn't have fumes? You said you won't smell it because of the kind of marker you used. Hope you respond, thanks.

  • yes the marker is odorless it doesnt have even a faint smell

  • why did you use a RED sharpie

  • "there it is,did it off screen, you can trust me" that was really funny

  • I can't seem to find the danskin tights anywhere. Any suggestions on other type of tights?

  • I dont know what to tell you you can check around a long as you get a thin opaque pair you should be ok

  • Sweet, a few places at thin opaque. Thanks.

  • dude ur hilariouse ib subbing pop the top off your marker,SHARPIE

your gonna feel like a pedophile buying these

  • best video to make rorschach mask!!!!

  • lolol

    loved your sense of humor

(and why would you do this at 4 in the morning???)

  • couldnt sleep planed on doing it in the morning but when I got all the stuff together and started I started getting tired

  • you're the best, just because you made me laugh so hard

  • i noticed that you had 2 layers. so the layer with the blots was the stocking...and what was the second layer?

  • same type of stocking just to make it more difficult to see your face

  • what brand tights, marker were they? im really really interested! thanks so much!!

  • I cant recall there was only one type of textile marker at walmart as long as its odorless it shouldnt matter and as long as the tights are opaque you should be fine I think the brand was danceskin studio or something like that just remeber it has the creepy little girl on them

  • Great vid. The worst mistake would probably be asking a staff member in the store if they've got semi-see-through children's tights. Ouch.

I would guess that the sketching stage of the mirrored inkblot pattern could be replaced by simply putting ink from an ink bottle on the other half of a paper and then folding the other side on top of that so that it catches the ink. I think that's how the traditional Rorscach inkblot tests were made. Not sure though. Must investigate further.

  • thanks for your help! i plan on doing this for a summer con, i only think its going to be a little hot at times, but ive been though 90 degree weather in full tactical gear, lol

  • Its actually not that hot but it does get itchy if you have facial hair Im shaving all mine off for the watchmen premiere

  • i kinda have to keep my facial hair for something else, but ill put up with it. thanks again!

  • ror had facial hare

  • he had stubble nothing major if you have any major facial hair mustache soul patch ect. the material really pulls and tugs

  • Rorschach also was making his mask out of material made possible by Dr. Manhattan. Since we lack a quantum nuclear superhero in our world, we have to make do with more common fabrics & designs.

  • It wasnt made by dr. manhattan It was a dress in the book that a woman never picked up at the shop Walter worked at he said was inspired by the dr. manhattan fad two Latex layers with a fluid layer

  • Yeah, I knew about it being Kitty Genovese's dress. I guess I misinterpreted the 'Manhattan fad' part though. It'd been a while since I'd read it, and you're right. I hunted down the quote.

"1962. Special Order for dress in new Dr. Manhattan spin-off fabric. Viscous fluids between two layers latex, heat and pressure sensitive."

  • I apologize If I sounded rude I still cant believe they cut that part about him making the mask from the movie

  • yeah, that bugged me too. Especially since the Kitty Genovese event was a real-life thing, and the movie looked to work so hard adding real-life events for the heroes to interact with.

and no, you didnt come off as rude... if anything i have a bit of a personal issue with being percieved as being wrong, so i felt obligated to explain.

  • thanks a million! all i needed was the mask.

  • Awesome action figure collection. I'm a fellow collector. Can you believe they are making us wait till San Diego comic-con for the news on Marvel Legends figures? Who cares about universe?!

  • l Im not a huge fan of marvel legends now the first series before the rights transfered were jaw droppingly unbelievable but now they end up lacking a lot I might get nova and camo punisher from the new wave but thats it dc u will end up in the same boat eventually especially with some of the things there starting to do now but for now theyre awsome

  • I just need Black Bolt. You know, I went to Walmart and saw the new dc line, thought I'd get GL, but next day all they had was Dr. Miracle.

  • I agree. I think that new universe stuff is dumb. I just want good old Marvel Legends.

  • the tight experience was great for me at target.

i didn't even try to explain to the people around me.

    it was great.

  • Hey man great video. It really helped me out. I have made three masks with different designs and i am about to make a fourth. Kudos!

  • luv all ur figurines dude

  • thanks!

  • Hey Chappa, my too! lemme know how yours turns out! =)

  • HOLY CRAP!!! thats so cool, i'm going to make a rorschach costume for this halloween and this really helps, i'm going to use one of the designs from the comic for the face, i don't think there's going to be many rorschachs for halloween scince i don't think many people will be making mask lol, cool video

  • I think rorschach will be this year's joker. as in every one will see the movie and decide this is the most original idea in the world. :)

  • if i can find a real good shade of brown coat and size plus matching fadora i'll do it, if not i think it'd be cool to be nite owl......wich would be harder lol

  • depend comic nite owl shouldn't be so hard. movie version on the other hand...

  • i don't think i wanna wear tights so i'm proly go with rorschach, i my city there wasn't really anyone dressed as the joker last year so i think less people will go as rorschach since it takes more time to make

  • he was the only person in that movie that had his pants on. and he got killed at the end what a load of shit right.

  • yeah, the scene in the movie was very emotional, i f i was a girl i would've cried, but as you saw in the end he got his word out, his legacy lives

  • hmm..... good point... will rethink costume idea... hopefully no one remembers watchmen by october... or something else by marvel comes out (other than wolverine)....

  • one more thing... what brand of marker did you use?

  • something else by marvel?

    watchmen is DC.

    come on!
