First, I fully love this song...and the Aladdin Sane painting in the back> (Fellow Bowie fan???) Second, where could one find acrylics? I'm working with an old Fushigi of mine. ANd where can I find the small ones? XD Anyway, GREAT job, darling, just SUBLIME.
I love David Bowie too, but did you -- or any body here -- know that David Bowie didn't do the contact juggling. It was done by a man named Michael Moschen. lol. Thought that was kinda funny to learn.
i bet you have improved a lot since this video...as i wright this i have been using a single 75mm acrylic for a couple of months and got 3 smaller acrylics just 2 days ago....i look farward to posting a film of my own....i also struggle to find like-minded people so i have left you a friend request :)
very nice ;o) I've also started with multiball, and I tell you - my arms hurt! But I love contact juggling since I've seen "Labyrinth". First I thought it's a film trick, but then I discovered that I can do this too!! Isn't that fantastic?? I love David Bowie - thanks for that. Take care and all the best.
@sopranino1969 HEY! me too, ive loved Labyrinth since i was 5...and now in 14, and an enormous fan of Bowie, i love Henson's stuff, and im an obsessive juggler....so that movie is three of my favorite things rolled into one :D.
Slow your hands down on the one ball palm spin isolation, and work in front of a mirror for your isolations. They are ultra frustrating to get down, but look really cool, once you've got it. Yes slow down your one ball work, it will make it look so much more natural and magical. Though you have a great hand on pyramids.
Look on internet juggling database...you might find out there is a juggling club or group in your town, and meet some other contact jugglers. I meet two others that live in town besides me and teacher that way
yeah, smaller ones are a lot easier. I started with 2.5", and didn't move to bigger ones for probably 6 months. Yours look bigger, like 2.75" maybe? Or maybe its just the ball size to hand size ratio, but either way its bigger than what I was using after that long, which is cool.
The bigger ones look more impressive if you can handle them. If you can hold 3 in your hand, you can learn to spin them, just might take time. I can spin a 4 ball stack of 3.5" if I go slow, but I can't do any lifts or anything. I'm working on 3", I think that would be the ideal size for my hands. But I think the size you're using looks pretty good. If you did, or do get a chance to see Shifty, he uses 2.75" for his multiball work.
Most people from what I can tell use different size for single and multi. 4" is a really popular size to use for single ball work, but unless you've got hands like Michael Glen, most people can't spin a 4 ball stack of those. I know I usually use a 4" or 3.5" for single, and 2.75" for multi.
That's pretty damn creepy, y'know. I know there's like a technique to it - you seem to be letting it fit into the grooves between your fingers for brief moments and then pushing them along again. Is that how you balance them on your palm?

I just got some smaller acrylics and am hoping to learn multi-ball.
I was looking for a demonstration of a variety of places to start.
This video was just lovely (It would make Jareth blush, I'm sure).
Thank you for sharing this.

What size acrylics do you use? I want to get into multiball CJ, but am not entirely sure which size is best.

Pretty nice. Yeah, multisphere is definitely your strong point, really nice for only 2 months, especially with that size spheres. keep it up!
cannonbaIIJames 3 years ago
thanks.
and by that do you mean smaller or bigger spheres?
i had to use smaller then i use for my single ball stuff since my hands are too small haha.

ah ok. yeah i think i could possibly do bigger. but these are good for now i think
i just dont really like how i have a different size for single ball stuff. ic an use mine but they are harder and dont look as nice.
yeah ill have a look.
