what a shame that the Italian director of the Sanremo show didn't pay attention to the rehearsals - he'd have known e'd better stay on GJ's close-up at the end of the song for the coup de théatre (her wig is taken off and she's carried away). Instead he favoured the traditional wide shot, depriving the TV audience (and the song) of its ending. What an idiot.

Yes, there is a male version.  Someone was recently asking me personally about it. She comes out dressed as a man, very similar to Annie Lennox doing her male version of Sweet Dreams from the awards show in the early 80's. "Male Grace" has a cigarette, and even a somewhat shave shadow...at the end, she fakes a collapse as she does in this one.

She does both performances for a reason, but i"ll leave that a secret as to why, for now. : )

Grace Jones is a woman...she was born in Jamaica. She's a contralto (in between Tenor and Mezzo-Soprano). This makes her unique since it's pretty rare. In fact, in high school there was a girl in the tenor section of our choir and I haven't seen that since. And that was 10 years ago!
