The narrowboat, do you have an album I don't know about byleandros? Can I ask what is on it? Thank you so much for posting this, it's my favourite of his all in all.
Yes, thank you. It would take 30 pages, and talent I simply don't possess , to even begin to tell anyone what this song means to me. I guess it is between me and GOD I suppose. Thank you again
For all I have read recently, I don't blame Harvey for not giving his gift away comercially. May God preserve him because last I heard he still writes a song most days. If there is a God may his index boxes be one day recorded. But thank you a million times byleandros for putting up one of my favourites in a way I can't yet
Early 70's my father had just died rather suddenly at the age of 35. I was 8.
My cousin Paul and sister Debs loved Harvey Andrews. This song stood out for me as the rest of my childhood memories were set to a backdrop of late autumnal melancholy and loss.
His voice has a fine timbre and the lyrics are very visual with references to everyday sights and sounds.
The violin sends a shiver down your spine and neatly defines the chilling quality of sorrow.
Please put some more original Harvey on Youtube. Thanks for this fantastic song, one of my all-time favourites from one of the greatest ever songwriters.
Yes I've long been a great fan of Harvey Andrews problem is I'm a Dubliner and he has never appeared in Dublin I mailed him once about it but he didn't relly give me a reason though he was very friendly and all in his reply.
Thanks for the post good memories
