It's really the big bio-ag-lobby that's pulling the strings.Did you know that Germany voted against irradiation of food 11 years ago and know they're paying the price? Irradiation can effectively kill 99,999% of food pathogens. But no worries, biotech has come up with a more environmentally friendly solution, GM-bacteriophages (the natural enemies of bacteria's). Phieuw!

@owainglyndwr16 Since they voted on the irradiation question 11 years ago, the E.coli problem only seem to have worsened, right? Changing framing practices didn't really help, so additional technology is required to reduce the amount of pathogens that contaminate our food.

Kids nowadays are not aloud to build their immune systems because of dirt paranoia .. We have over the years built up tollerences to many Pathogens but we are going backwards thanks to aggressive adverizing .. The food is making us sick ! Why is that ? Why didn't we have such concerns say 40years ago ?

@owainglyndwr16 I think you're confused, hygienic precautions are primordial to prevent MRSA and the likes, from spreading. Now these hygienic precautions could be partly responsible (besides environmental issues, less breastfeeding,...) for the hyperimmunisation, NOT hypo-immunisation. So allergenicty is propagated by cleanliness. Now there's still lots debate going on what is the actual cause of the augmenting allergenicity in youth. So no one really knows.

Many Monsanto "people" or rather monsters are in the Obama administration as well as in the EU commission. Monsanto does'nt label the products saying the food contains GMO's. I,ve researched Monsanto for 6 years and this is by far the most deadly organisation in the world. Over 80% of the foods in the American supermartkets contain GMO's.

Boycott Monsanto, Cargill and other GMO pushers. . Do not use Roundup. Do not buy artificial sweeteners, or products containing them such as toothpastes, drinks and sugar free gum. Boycott the phony organic companies- Deans Foods (Silk soy milk) and Horizon milk). Stop buying cheap food fr companies that use slave labor (Domino's sugar and others). Write to the big box retailers- Wal-mart, Costco, Sam's Club, Pathmark, Whole Foods, etc. and tell them Just Say No to GMOs!

Or even better, CuSO4, an inorganic pesticide used by organic farmers that's more toxic to soilorganisms and compromises soildiversity and more persistent in soil than any other (semi)synthetic pesticide?
