Sometimes I feel I'm the only still watching and enjoying this video. While most music I type in I no longer have to scroll through amvs thanks to youtube's greater relevence algorithm, I do still remember the old days of bullshit where literally every song, even thoroughly underground stuff that Pandora Radio doesn't have had some AMV to it. Also Anime is terrible. I've never watched a well made anime, and I never will.
Probably the worst AMVs on this site are the Dragonball Z AMVs, now those AMVs REALLY suck balls. They probably suck balls more than any other AMV on this site.

I watch Mecha anime. And the thing you say about character just moving them left to right. Barely happens.
As a matter of fact the only time that happens is when i watch Bleach or Naruto.
Most anime i watch you actually see the characters full body move. Showing some depth differences when the start running off into the distance, but thats your opinion

yeah, the only good anime iv'e seen in a long time is Fullmetal Alchemist. it made it's point. it did'nt drag on to long. and it was pretty funny and cool. but animes like inyasha and naruto is friggin running 2 long. it is not intresting, it has no point. those animes are pretty cool at the beginning. but after 20 episodes, the become so annoying!

However, your idea of anime seems to be more from the late 90's and early 2000's...when every show that came to America just sucked. Some of the newer anime is great though. I really enjoy Gurren Lagaan, Code Geass, Gundam 00, 5 cm per second, and other recent shows that have really hit home for me.

I agree about the hentai thing. Its thanks to it that anime and manga fans are looked at as perverts....and while people say this, the person they say it to is reading one of the most UMperverted manga ever made- Dragon Ball Z, or something like that. And I agree about the bad AMVs, they get annoying. But there are stiil some good ones out there, and they arent just random clips that have nothing to do with the song and make no sense at all.
I totally agree about that youtube users just seems to be using someone else's work and just can't make great of their own artwork with their own skills to make AMVs... Sure some are awesome, but as you said 99% of them are bad. So subscribing to you!! :P

There's like 40 new Linkin Park + Naruto amv's everyday. As an anime fan, It makes me sick. The good AMV's are all in NicoNico anyway.
But I think it's better to have AMV's rather than anime episodes in youtube. How can people watch 25 minutes of such a bad quality? Youtube it's not for that, in my humble opinion.

THERE'S AMVS FOR EVERYTHING JESUS CHRIST. and yeah, about 99% of anime sucks, the 1% being death note which is really well written and has a great plot. go watch it, it saved me from hating everything that is animated forever. and apparantly blue gender is awesome, but i don't know. i have seen some really good AMVs. but most of them SUCK FREAKIN BALLS.

Death Note is way too popular with not much to back it up, it's about as confusing as Lost, and nowhere near as exciting. Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh were good, then they made them shitty like power rangers. Gundam Wing Assault was the best anime I ever saw period in my opinion, then - of course - they changed it and now it's gay.
I didn't know it was that popular, noone I know likes anime. I thought it was good because it wasn't too simplistic and sort of made for stupid people, and I wouldn't know what would happen. Maybe I am stupid, and that's why I didn't know haha. I liked it though, to each his own I guess.
I agree, Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh were really good originally. Even the first few seasons of Pokemon in english. Maybe that's because I grew up watching it. Either way, both of them are really creative.
I still watch the original pokemon and Yu Gi Oh's, Death Note on the other hand I just don't like because it's one of those animes. It has a story that's decent, but it just seems way too unrealistic and like I said with nothing to back it up. DBZ was a good anime for it's time, and it was really unrealistic. I wouldn't say Death note is made for stupid people, but I wouldn't say it's made for people who aren't very much into anime.

I think the anime that your descibing. Is the low budget old anime. The new popular anime now. People put more work into them and they look better and they aren't as how you described.
I agreed on everything except the part about hentai, you act as if the attraction to a fictional character is specifically isolated to the Japanese. Plus, you sound prudish, judgmental and close to a fundie during that part. Good rant though.
Anyway, to the people screaming "if you don't like it don't watch it", it's pretty much impossible to judge a quality of a video without watching it first. You guys make it sound as if the amv producers would respond to criticism well too.

Maybe people make those videos for fun, and they enjoy it. It's not a waste of time and space. People like it, and they have a right to make them. They put a lot of time in it, and lots of people are proud when they finish a good one. And as for the lip-synching part, it does fit the japanese words, when it gets to america, the english words don't match up to the japanese lip-synching. And not all animes are the same!!

I have to disagree with parts of this rant. It was good up until the "tentacle death rape scat porn is disgusting" part. And with that, I disagree, because tentacle death rape scat porn is the best kind of porn.
AMV's are necessary. When the final solution is implemented, we'll know who to put into the shower chambers. Anybody who is a "director" of AMV's has no viable genetic material to contribute to the human race.
I don't hate anime. I actually like anime because of the GOOD ones. Though, I 100% totally agree that there are way TOO many AMVs and very crappy animes being made today. Yes, there are few animes that are fantastic (ex: Death Note) but that is very seldom nowadays. I personally don't blame the entire genre for that. I still consider myself an anime fan, but of course I hate a lot of animes. The only good ones are ones that consists AT MOST 55 episodes. I prefer animes that are mainly 26 ep.
I like looking on YouTube for the videos to some of my favourite tracks, be they new or old, but I am finding it much harder to tolerate the amount of AMVs there are mixed in with the "proper" videos. Enough already, people!
I suppose the AMV I did like was something synched to Wierd Al's "Pretty Fly for a Rabbi" because that just worked for me.

That it's because the anime today is SO commercial it's not a state of the art that they used to do any more. Everything begins at the end of 90's and entering the 2000. And it's getting worse day by day. A true anime fan miss the old days back in the 80's and the middle of the 90's Anime Golden age.

well its a really simple thought. i like to watch amvs. i know there a bagillion naruto with linkin park vids, but its funny they don't bother me. do you know why, i don't watch them.
also people need to post there stuff so they can tell if its good or not. most people think that they did a good job. thats why they post them.

Linkin Park-Naruto amvs need to DIE! lol jk. But it's so hard finding a good amv. So please people, if you're going to make an amv, AT LEAST put a LITTLE bit of effort into it! My friend made a Naruto amv but all he did was string together numurous fights from the anime and just put the backround music in afterwards. You what happened? He had to REPEAT the music TWICE because he put too much footage! So at least edit the amvs some more. Don't just slap together scene and call it an "amv"!

I think that the only good new anime anymore lies in the small artists who do new things to make good emotions in their characters. and the studios that view it as an art form more than a show. and the single pictures of unnamed characters showing emotion in a creative way.
it's an art form like other things. when done right, it is beautiful and expressive. The eyes are large and detailed, causing a strong emotional attachment and response.

Yes, there are bad anime, but you cannot say they all draw the same or have the same storyline. Compare Naruto and Rurouni Kenshin. Both are fighting-based anime, but have incredibly different plots.

I agree with you on some parts actually. Now, I'm an anime fanatic, but you're right, most AMV's suck. There are no effects, hardly any cuts in them, I've seen just entire clips put with music and that be considered an AMV. Now, the ones that are good I like, we need more video makers that are good, and I know that amvs don't have much to do with the people making them, but they're fun to make, and fun to watch if they're good. And we have a wide variety being imported is because different people like different things. Even if an anime is crap to one person, it could be another persons favorite. And personally, I'm not a huge fan of American cartoons, so I like the anime and manga.

This is why I'm not really interested in AMV's anymore. A lot of these I've seen are really really crap. Still, there are some that are good and in which I find underrated while a lot of the these half-assed AMVs get loads of views and don't deserve all of the attention.

Some anime's arent very good, I have to say. BUT not all anime is like that. There's some really good ones out there where the animations is extremely good, art is amazing, and the "lip synch" matches perfectly. You shouldn't say "all anime does this" when you dont even fucking know.

yeah, the only good anime iv'e seen in a long time is Fullmetal Alchemist. it made it's point. it did'nt drag on to long. and it was pretty funny and cool. but animes like inyasha and naruto is friggin running 2 long. it is not intresting, it has no point. those animes are pretty cool at the beginning. but after 20 episodes, the become so annoying!

However, your idea of anime seems to be more from the late 90's and early 2000's...when every show that came to America just sucked. Some of the newer anime is great though. I really enjoy Gurren Lagaan, Code Geass, Gundam 00, 5 cm per second, and other recent shows that have really hit home for me.

I agree about the hentai thing. Its thanks to it that anime and manga fans are looked at as perverts....and while people say this, the person they say it to is reading one of the most UMperverted manga ever made- Dragon Ball Z, or something like that. And I agree about the bad AMVs, they get annoying. But there are stiil some good ones out there, and they arent just random clips that have nothing to do with the song and make no sense at all.

There's like 40 new Linkin Park + Naruto amv's everyday. As an anime fan, It makes me sick. The good AMV's are all in NicoNico anyway.
But I think it's better to have AMV's rather than anime episodes in youtube. How can people watch 25 minutes of such a bad quality? Youtube it's not for that, in my humble opinion.
Well, also I think the new anime titles have improved the Animation part, I don't like to brought up stuff I don't even enjoyed, But Gurren Lagann it's a nice example of that.

In Japan, a HUGE part of the HUGE population consume and/or produce anime and/or manga. Just inside the country, these move about 4 billion USD yearly(thanks wikipedia XD). It's an enormous market, and it's become so widespread, so exploited, so varied, that one can't anymore say that he "likes" nor "doesn't like" anime ->

THERE'S AMVS FOR EVERYTHING JESUS CHRIST. and yeah, about 99% of anime sucks, the 1% being death note which is really well written and has a great plot. go watch it, it saved me from hating everything that is animated forever. and apparantly blue gender is awesome, but i don't know. i have seen some really good AMVs. but most of them SUCK FREAKIN BALLS.

Death Note is way too popular with not much to back it up, it's about as confusing as Lost, and nowhere near as exciting. Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh were good, then they made them shitty like power rangers. Gundam Wing Assault was the best anime I ever saw period in my opinion, then - of course - they changed it and now it's gay.

I didn't know it was that popular, noone I know likes anime. I thought it was good because it wasn't too simplistic and sort of made for stupid people, and I wouldn't know what would happen. Maybe I am stupid, and that's why I didn't know haha. I liked it though, to each his own I guess.
I agree, Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh were really good originally. Even the first few seasons of Pokemon in english. Maybe that's because I grew up watching it. Either way, both of them are really creative.

I still watch the original pokemon and Yu Gi Oh's, Death Note on the other hand I just don't like because it's one of those animes. It has a story that's decent, but it just seems way too unrealistic and like I said with nothing to back it up. DBZ was a good anime for it's time, and it was really unrealistic. I wouldn't say Death note is made for stupid people, but I wouldn't say it's made for people who aren't very much into anime.

I know what you mean. I only like a couple of animes now and they are all action. I hate romance anime any more. Because all they do is talk. Though I don't like ALOT of action cuz That just bores the fuck out of me. It has no plot and its nothing but fighting and sweaty grosty muscles.

I agreed on everything except the part about hentai, you act as if the attraction to a fictional character is specifically isolated to the Japanese. Plus, you sound prudish, judgmental and close to a fundie during that part. Good rant though.
Anyway, to the people screaming "if you don't like it don't watch it", it's pretty much impossible to judge a quality of a video without watching it first. You guys make it sound as if the amv producers would respond to criticism well too.

Maybe people make those videos for fun, and they enjoy it. It's not a waste of time and space. People like it, and they have a right to make them. They put a lot of time in it, and lots of people are proud when they finish a good one. And as for the lip-synching part, it does fit the japanese words, when it gets to america, the english words don't match up to the japanese lip-synching. And not all animes are the same!!

I don't hate anime. I actually like anime because of the GOOD ones. Though, I 100% totally agree that there are way TOO many AMVs and very crappy animes being made today. Yes, there are few animes that are fantastic (ex: Death Note) but that is very seldom nowadays. I personally don't blame the entire genre for that. I still consider myself an anime fan, but of course I hate a lot of animes. The only good ones are ones that consists AT MOST 55 episodes. I prefer animes that are mainly 26 ep.

I like looking on YouTube for the videos to some of my favourite tracks, be they new or old, but I am finding it much harder to tolerate the amount of AMVs there are mixed in with the "proper" videos. Enough already, people!
I suppose the AMV I did like was something synched to Wierd Al's "Pretty Fly for a Rabbi" because that just worked for me.

That it's because the anime today is SO commercial it's not a state of the art that they used to do any more. Everything begins at the end of 90's and entering the 2000. Most of the videos that has high views are overrated and I am sure Kyle can forgive people if it is their first time.

Linkin Park-Naruto amvs need to DIE! lol jk. But it's so hard finding a good amv. So please people, if you're going to make an amv, AT LEAST put a LITTLE bit of effort into it! My friend made a Naruto amv but all he did was string together numurous fights from the anime and just put the backround music in afterwards. You what happened? He had to REPEAT the music TWICE because he put too much footage! So at least edit the amvs some more. Don't just slap together scene and call it an "amv"!

I think that the only good new anime anymore lies in the small artists who do new things to make good emotions in their characters. and the studios that view it as an art form more than a show. and the single pictures of unnamed characters showing emotion in a creative way.
it's an art form like other things. when done right, it is beautiful and expressive. The eyes are large and detailed, causing a strong emotional attachment and response.

Yes, there are bad anime, but you cannot say they all draw the same or have the same storyline. Compare Naruto and Rurouni Kenshin. Both are fighting-based anime, but have incredibly different plots.

I agree with you on some parts actually. Now, I'm an anime fanatic, but you're right, most AMV's suck. There are no effects, hardly any cuts in them, I've seen just entire clips put with music and that be considered an AMV. Now, the ones that are good I like, we need more video makers that are good, and I know that amvs don't have much to do with the people making them, but they're fun to make, and fun to watch if they're good. This is why I'm not really interested in AMV's anymore. A lot of these I've seen are really really crap. Still, there are some that are good and in which I find underrated while a lot of the these half-assed AMVs get loads of views and don't deserve all of the attention.

You say that because it's called YOUtube that it should include the person that actually makes the video. Then you say that you search for music artists so you can listen to their music. I don't see the music videos including the user that uploaded them..

Some anime's arent very good, I have to say. BUT not all anime is like that. There's some really good ones out there where the animations is extremely good, art is amazing, and the "lip synch" matches perfectly. You shouldn't say "all anime does this" when you dont even fucking know.

I blame the introduction of Dragon Ball Z to Cartoon Network back in, ooh, '98-ish? That badly-drawn piece of shit (somehow) shaped the demise of the golden age of anime- when it was all simply known as Manga.
