Even if they get the poodle coat, if you clip them, they look like golden retrievers. Generally, those characteristics are dominant. The poodle coat is dominant, but not always. BTW, it is thought that golden- and labradoodles resemble the ancient north European water dogs-- the ancestor of poodles, water spaniels, newfoundlands, and retrievers.

BTW, although they aren't "supposed to," golden retriever males can weigh over a hundred pounds.

Yes, Everyone thought it was very strange how I was born to a Golden Retriever even though my dad was a miniature poodle. I had eight hairy brothers and sisters. I was well trained and have learnt to type on a computer with both paws.
