Men generally prefer larger breasts and hips because it shows who will have easier time giving birth to a child and then brest feeding it.
Women prefer men in good phisical shape bacause they are viewed as better able to provide and protect.
We might have better medicine and less dangers, but we still use thouse old markers to find a suitable mate.
Also, kissing is a genetic test, we can taste weather or not a mate is compatable while kissing.

These days there aren't enough men who are in good shape and have good personalities, so when given a choice between fat but reliable and muscular but unreliable, many would prefer reliable for the very reason of security.

The slender, in my experience, have to be cute OR any look and just be funny. Big have to be protective or funny, or both. It ranges from either a big city from small towns on what is the ideal formula. Small towns tend to go fat, cities go muscles (think mainstream), and majority go average/skinny. @enlighteneveryone Slender body types do not necesarily mean weakness. Huge muscles can actually lead to slower movements. So in a fight someone with huge muscles can loose to someone with more speed. Also what we now see as muscular is not necessarilly strong. Men these days work out their upper body and neglect lower, hence they are not really strong. Women regester all these things without ever realizing it. And as I said before, personality counts as well.

Adolescence is a series of complex physiological and psychological changes that have many similarities between the sexes and sexual desire triggers have many common elements between the sexes. One theory is that homosexuality is a slight "miss wiring" of the sexual drive triggers developed during adolescence. It's just a mistake.

Since sexual attraction to the opposite sex works over 90% of the time, that is more than enough to keep the current method of sexual attraction going. Nature just accepts the less than 10% error rate as an acceptable byproduct.

@Hassaan1048 Because we are animals and cannot reproduce with members of the same sex. So, in evolutionary terms, someone of the same sex isn't a "mate". Socially, yes, they are a mate. But all animals have some sort of carnal programming to reproduce, and humans can't do that with the same gender.

the most striking thing that leads me to understand this is a disorder was this.. the teacher asked the gay students in the room if he had a magic wand, that could turn them straight, would they let him do it? almost all of them had to think, had no anser, and you could see the pain on the faces. imagine that.. i was totaly shocked, i thought they would laugh and say hell no. but seeing that changed my oppinion on them. i felt sorry for them. what do u think "disorder" means? its not an insult.

@pkendall19 That kind of reaction comes from years of repression, being told they're wrong by family and peers, insults, assaults, etc... There are a number of blacks who would respond like that to being asked if they would want to be made white. That's a common reaction to minority status.

We've observed it in over a thousand species all across the board, and carefully studied it in nearly 500. Every single time, same results.
