I've been chainpunched to the face...suffice to say its fast and it hurts...all a wing chun practitioner needs is an opening, (and they know how to make one belive me) and you get a quick fist in the face. Sure, it is a short movement, but wiht his footwork you take all his weight on that fist, its like been kicked in the face, and behind it are another hundred before you can do a thing, and he will have closed the range so you can't hook him or anything. Its a devastating technique.
this is so stupid.... most people who watch this have probably never even been in a fight before. if you try and do THIS in a fight, (first off, you wouldnt. the person your fighting has a brain and a form of automatic defense.) he could easily just swing away with a right hand and knock you clean out while your trying to fucking paddy-cake his chest.
@quickscope202 I have two problems with what you're saying
1) 'Easily swing away with a right hand' - so you're going to 'swing' with your right hand, could you of picked a more stupid punch, its slow, easy to stop and easy to see coming
2) 'knock you clean out' - so you're presuming that you can knock them out in one punch, with your 'swing', if they dont manage to see it coming and you manage to hit them perfectly in the right place, and they have a really weak chin - maybe
@quickscope202 fucktard ive you are a master in one martial arts you can beat a simple guy like you in a mattter of seconds i do kickboxing i ve been in a fight and its pretty easy to knock a simple guy out a martial arts makes you think quicker you can take more puncches than an ordinary guy even kicks and makes you stronger .
i do chowgar - hungar - jujutsu , 5 ANIMAL KUNG FU ? dose this make me a mma fighter no dose it bollocks, mma is a mix of ballet and disco dancing with a bit of man cuddling , learn a style dont hash a load together
Youre all fucking retarded. No martial art is better than another. And for all the dipshits saying mma is the best martial art, mma is not a martial art, its a lot of them combined hence the name mixed martial arts... all of you need to shut the hell up its annoying
I think that for this to work first you would need to be faster than the reflexes of a tiger and next be an absolute brute to be able actually cause actual umm... DAMAGE with those punches having your fist verticaly facing your opponent lol
It's not the styles as to which is better, but the person doing them. I am really good with greco Roman Wrestling and I have tapped out some jiu jitsu guys, but I've been tapped out just as many times.
Not only does it look cool, but I believe the chain punch is also able to cause muscle spasms in the upper body that make it more and more difficult for the opponent to breathe and react with every punch taken. In the hands of the legendary Master Ip and Master Lee, all I can say is, oh my god. D:
There are no weaknesses in any martial arts. only the lack of knowledge and excecution by the person using them. Classic Arguement is always Kung-fu against Karate. Both are great for self defense and true masters of the arts would not look for the supposed flaw in the apposing art yet rather to find the weakness in the skill of the apponent.
this move is shit, first of all, those punches fot to strenght, and, even if they did, do u expect the other guy to just stay there with his chest wide open? he can fuck your head with both hand anytime he wants
@rik09876 Self defense is in fact mostly about killing your opponent - or rather, to be prepared to do so if needed. It's not a silly sport in some octagon - it's about surviving an attack from a person who's trying to take your life. Wing Chun in particular, is very focused on lethal techniques, to minimize the need for raw physical strength compared to your opponent.
It's funny to see that there are ALWAYS, no matter what martial art is being discussed, discussions revolving around the topic "martial arts". Each one of you thinks that your martial art is the best and that it has no weaknessess.
Technique does play a role. Look at how many MMA fighters and boxers end up beating someone who is stronger or faster by being more well-rounded or having better technique.
Never said it didn't. Of course technique plays a role. However, there's no such thing as "Best martial arts." It all depends on how the guy uses the martial arts in any fight. ~
@FearThisChannel ..Haha..Couldn't agree more..And..This is what makes Bruce Lee unique..coz he believed all MA hv their own weaknesses..and of that..the amazing 'Jeet Kune Do' is formed...
@Melv666 You do know Jeet Kune Do's weakness is ground fighting and clinch fighting, right? Which always occurs in most "Real Combat" situations. (I still love Jeet Kune Do)
@WannaGoToSuckFest You can always apply Jeet Kune Do principles to ground situations as well. And if you keep your ass off the floor, as is your goal in most Kung Fu arts, you're fine.
@Melv666 Yeah, amazing it is, but even Jeet Kune Do has its weaknesses. You know, in the movie "Ip Man" the Northener says. "I admit, your Kung Fu is best". Then Ip Man replies: "It's not the art, it's you".
@FearThisChannel of course, those arts are usually competitive because its very much in a young male humans nature to challenge other tribes for dominance, we still see it in monkeys today, martial arts in particular im not sure they have weaknesses themselves, people have weaknesses the art is usually all encompassing and its the person that it doesnt work for personally not that the art is weak the person needs to find something better for them
@FearThisChannel i know aint it the only martial art which is amazing for destroying you is muay thai really not taekwondo or any of that shit and look at the way he is punching 10000punches hit 0 damage done lol
@FearThisChannel True...there is no perfect martial art...the only thing you can try to do is be well-versed in a few disciplines..we have Pat Miletich to thank for that idea haha
@FearThisChannel Everything has a weakness, the clue is to find it. Some martial arts seem like they are unbeatable, like they have an inpenetrable defence (but they do not). Others decieve you, making you see them as a lesser oponent, where in fact it is a trap.
@FearThisChannel It really is about the person and their hard work rather then the martial art style when it comes down to a fight with two equally skilled martial artists after all right? :P
@FearThisChannel the thing is you can easily prove that MMA is the best martial art and kung fu is not effective kung fu has no conditioning while MMA has
@YooEssBee1 That's a very narrow-minded thing to say.
Number 1: Know what you speak about. By hearing you talk using the concept "Kung Fu" already betrays your lack of knowledge, since Kung Fu means no more than exercise or training. What people often want to refer to is Wushu, but they use the term "Kung Fu" instead.
And even if this counted, Wushu/Kung Fu is no more than Chinese martial arts in general (there are many, many styles). So... which of these is actually ineffective? :P
@FearThisChannel THATS IN CAGE FIGHTING YOU NOB ON THE STREET YOU CAN DO WHAT EVER YOU WANT YOU DO MMA BEAT SOMEONE UP YOU GET CHARGED WITH ASSULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON
@YooEssBee1 I've seen it, and yes it's bloody like shit, but it's an ineffective martial art because before they actually take their opponents to the ground they already hit 20 times.
I don't claim to be a top martial artist, but I'm working on it. We can't start off doing something and then think we won't be hit. It's a steep learning process. Face it.
@UesugiVincentibanez Your an idiot, If you are trained in self-deference you can very easily disarm an enemy. There for making your cocky ass screwed.
My goodness that comment was a while ago... I'm an Aikido-ka and a Karate-Ka, both black belt. Excuse me if my "humor" may have come off as rude to you, it was only comedic and sarcastic to me. I'm still fairly young, so of course i will be overconfident and cocky, however, i am watching this video for an eductional purpose because i am curious as to see how other martial arts use strikes, because striking and punching are not my strong points. I can counter fairly well, but strike
@UesugiVincentibanez Striking is just countering to put it bluntly. A punch, a stance, a movement are all the same. You have to counter the situation and not blindly strike when your opponent is in a position to easily counter you.
I'm mostly self taught. You just have to be observant of what is going on. Noting things down also helps the learning process. I would say each training session keep a journal of it.
A good wing chun apprentice, can KTFO (like you dumbass say) with this move, the speed and shock is unbearable. you have to be VERY trained, to sustain those punches.
@zx6rtt wrong! your the dumbass who got KTFO. if you mean that this lacks style, your wrong. wing chun is very practical and does little with fancy style. its not about looking good with hitting your opponents with one hit like some stupid anime character. its about effectiveness you arse.
@amahan07 I said it's a waste of energy. i didn't say i get tired. Even bruce lee used to use moves that use as less energy as possible. do u wanna know why you wote that comment? COZ YOU ARE DUMB.
@mj19580 coz of that comment im dumb? nice conclusion smart arse. yea sorry i wasnt thinking clearly about my comment. but these kinds of punches are not the kind that wastes energy. as compared to long straight punches that are mostly present in northern styles of kung fu.
@amahan07 but what's the point in using more punches that waste time, energy and leave you open to a counter attack and do virtually no damage. when you can just do a JKD punch and put them to sleep in 1 second. If you ever get confused again about which punch or kick is the most effective, just ask the master.
@yazein89 here we go again another smart ass. bruce lee modified the wing chun punch. i've read all of bruce lee's books. if you still think there is no such thing as a JKD punch, just watch this vid and jump off a cliff. hehe /watch?v=LaUSZpy2kjk
@mj19580 so it is a modified wing chun punch, but thats bruce's punch. Didnt bruce lee tell that A's JKD will not be the same as B's JKD? i understand he wanna say that everybody has got his own style, so there is not one JKD punch.

not so easy to land a hook without gloves... even harder to land one when theres no rules and ur opponent is constantly attacking you... MMA does not belong in the street.

@xxzippyxx Manslaughter charge is a legal proceeding, like being charged with murder. Apologies for the miscommunication. I have no fear of being charged, growing up in a rugby culture makes you used to it haha.
energy = mass times velocity. But also, in martial arts, the angle the energy is transfered at as well as the surface area transferring the energy makes a difference. that's why many kung fu and karate schools advocate a variety of fists. When you decrease the surface area of the striking point, the damage increases because you're delivering more psi. That's why on power tests, you could have two strikes delivering the same power, but the smaller striking point will be more powerful.
actually this type of "speed punch" was advocated only by 1 school of wing chun, which also happened to be more active outside of china and so very famous. but in real fighting this is not how we punch in Wing Chun. In no-contact sparring perhaps dazzling speed punches are impressive, but in real fist fights it is power that is the equalizer. Hence the Wing Chun Maxim 拳無三下or "there is no 3rd punch" when it comes to fist fighting. Just a powerful 1-2!
yea it's not essentially what I'd call 'effective'. Better as a training exercise really, segwaying into trapping and such. That's an outsider perspective, mind you.
I don't believe you'll JUST use it the exact way it's shown. But, on a physics level (i guess), there's less to stabalize the head than the chest, so it will provide less resistence, which also means that less energy will be transferred from the punch to the striking point. since the natural tendency would be to resist a punch, the body will stay more stable and more of that energy will transfer to the wider, flatter surface of the chest.
I've been chainpunched to the face...suffice to say its fast and it hurts...all a wing chun practitioner needs is an opening, (and they know how to make one belive me) and you get a quick fist in the face. Sure, it is a short movement, but wiht his footwork you take all his weight on that fist, its like been kicked in the face, and behind it are another hundred before you can do a thing, and he will have closed the range so you can't hook him or anything. energy = mass times velocity.

I think the chain punches are more effective at the face level. Anyways... what do I know?

I don't believe you'll JUST use it the exact way it's shown. But, on a physics level (i guess), there's less to stabalize the head than the chest, so it will provide less resistence, which also means that less energy will be transferred from the punch to the striking point. since the natural tendency would be to resist a punch, the body will stay more stable and more of that energy will transfer to the wider, flatter surface of the chest.
