  • my buddy fucked up his wrist cleaning with straps. i wouldnt do that again

  • @MsSucka Like many things, when used incorrectly, bad things can happen.

  • @TxWtlifter so then why were you using straps?

  • @MsSucka Because I use them correctly. C'mon buddy.

  • @MsSucka My buddy got in a car accident once...you shouldn't drive a car ever again...

    faulty logic is faulty logic.

  • @jskrabac cool story bro

  • that was a clean squat not a power clean

  • @ni23237 notice the word 'power' is not included in the title or description

  • @TxWtlifter Checked the tags?

  • Awesome!

  • nice warcry

  • Quick elbows and nice drive. Good job

  • That hurt my wrists just watching that

  • straps on squat cleans can be a VERY bad idea. snatches? no problem. but i agree with some of the other posters here - i'd be REALLY careful about squat cleaning with straps. it can result in some pretty bad injuries.

  • Your the man

  • where do people find these rubber "weights?"

  • @sittingon35s brands: eleiko, zkc, dhs, werk san, etc.

  • Thats my squat 0_o haha thats amazing man,im 15 and i play freshman football, i only PC 165 but oh boy was this video a really good inspiration! It helped me on form too(: thank you my man! goodluck this season!

  • Damn good job.

A youtube of a lift where the guy actually does the lift. A true rarity. I tip my cap.

  • straps are for snatches and pulls , full squat clean with a strap is dangerous, hook grip is just as good as straps for singles.

Now that is impressive, but i was expecting a football clean , wide feet , leaning back, but that was great technique man, and you are 17.

  • 17 at the time i'd like to see what you're lifting now

  • insane

  • I mean this with all due respect. I get why you're using straps and clearly you have a solid grasp on the Oly lifts. But look up Zach Krych's story. He was cleaning with straps, got bottomed out, had the bar come down on him and because he couldn't get his hands free it snapped both his wrists. He's a world class, Olympic caliber lifter. You're young, clearly a strong athlete, and I'd hate something like that to happen to you. Just think about it. Strap up for snatches, not for cleans.

  • Man I've been cleaning for a month and I'm doing 175 and I'm 14. God I wish I could do that. Perfect form and everything.

  • legit as fuck

  • Wow.....you should do me a favor and check out my power clean video to check if my form was good im new to these types of lifts looks almost like yours thanks oh this goes to anyone

  • BADASS

  • that was impressive as hell ! how much do you weigh?

  • 17 years old?!

  • whats ur position

  • Did u go to boerne champion high school?

  • how much do u weigh

  • fucking beast

  • That's some fucking beast mode shit right there.

  • Wow! TCU is my dream college! I hope to play football for them someday! Right on dude! I need to work on my cleans!

  • Excellent Form......

  • I just watched a video of you doing a 280lbs Clean at age 15, then next video I saw was you doing a 318lbs Clean exactly 1 year later. Then a 370lbs Clean another year later.. You, sir, are extremely inspirational.. I've been lifting for 10 months now, I am so excited to know I have the potential to see improvements like this in a few years..

  • you play for tcu?

  • @mstars15 Yes

  • @TxWtlifter good shit, huge win tonight

  • can i borrow your weight room for a year?

  • Excellent lift-but why the straps?

  • @lburdeos464 Training for football, not competitive lifting.

  • @TxWtlifter

Ah grip strength is an unseen difference maker in the trenches. The more you rely on straps the less your grip develops. So not using straps is training for football. You want that grip training that comes with all your heavy pulling.

  • Dang man, thats crazy strong, this is always my worst lift =/ keep up the good work man =)

  • Good stuff bro

  • My clean is 135.....

  • what is your routine? i'm having some trouble bringing my power clean up.

  • dang man thats what im talkin about, im impressed.

  • Man strong

  • good shit dude way to stick wit it

  • Wow it makes my clean look like a bitch lol only 225lbs

  • Nice lift man

  • My max on bench is a pitiful 130 :( , but only 13 years old and on the upside my max on power clean is 160. ( I only weigh 125 but trying to bulk up for football). Any tips to improve?

  • dam thats nice

  • Strong lift. Look at all these faggots commenting about how they squat 400 at 15.. Lol

  • booyah grandma

  • Heyy what's your power clean routine and how many times a week do you power clean, at least when you took this video?

  • dude your a fuckin animal

  • dang im 13 and i can only power clean 135 and i play line backer!!

  • @shaneXbot69 well do you know a lot of 13 year olds who power clean 370 pounds?

  • Dudeee dont your wristtt diee

  • "That was heavy".

    Good job.

  • good shit man.. im 6'3 245 and i only clean 300.. i'll stick to bench which im sure ur a beast at too haha..

  • I love lookin at the difference in size from the 280 video and this one.. good gravy!

  • better post when u get the big 400!!!!

  • dear lord wow

  • Lol I power cleaned 155 today and was happy with myself. Someone has a long way to go.

  • Not gonna lie thought was just gonna be some tool pretending to be 17 and have a shitty clean, but thats completely legit nice form and everything congrats.

  • huge improvement in technique (and size!) from your 280 lbs lift. keep going man!

  • serious question, and tell me what i need to improve on bro [im 5'4, i bench 155, my 40 is a 4.85, i squat 205, and i powerclean 140, oh yea and im 14] any chances of me getting into Texas A&M playing a inside linebacker position although ive played every position on defense and offense except line, give me pointers on what i need to work on. appreciate it(:

  • I looked at your 280 video,you look big,i look at this one,you look like a beast,lol.

  • Nice lift, careful with the straps on cleans though, can be hard to ditch a missed lift without risking a big injury (think about how the bar rotates when you turn it over into the rack position).

  • .......thats why you wear a belt...i cant believe you are 17 years old, or 18 by now

  • sweeeeet! (but c'mon.... straps? kidding)

  • BIG NIG! haha

  • very impressive

  • that smile after the lift looks like the one brock lesnar does.

  • woot woot! TCU BABY!! btw, nike pro combats are sick!

  • Very strong kid. I'm a nancy.

  • Very impressive, keep working hard. Youre doin a great job

  • geeeez! that kid's a beast!

  • now I got the technique... scream YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! lol... NICE CLEAN

  • Nice

I was a frustrated lifter. I loved the hang clean ( it didn't love me back , I threw the Discus ) @ 15 years old I weighed 200 lbs, squatted maybe, MAYBE, 310 1st real hang clean ( had done light ones for reps for a year or so ) did 230. 5 months later 260 hang clean. Fast forward 5 years squatting 600 with ease , weighing 280 once in awhile I got 330 NEVER close to 350

good lift go for it !

  • @DandDskeeto lol sounds like my story except reverse the progress on squat and clean

  • @samauripizzacats101

lol Cool at least I understood the importance of those type of movements. I think entirely too many get hung up on so called "power movements" and neglect REAL power movements ( like olympic lifts ). Sad thing was, is most of the throwers around thought I was really good at hang clean.

  • dude, are you the guy from Argyle. I just saw you highlights. Dude, you're a beast. I play center in high school. Would've been nice to go against you.

  • You're much bigger here than in the 280 lbs video :D

  • I max out 185lbs on power cleans, I have to become stronger if I plan to play college football in two years.

  • @IntelligentBlackMale cleans are very underrated man. You can find a bunch of guys on every team with big squats or benches that do nothing on the field but the really good players always have big cleans

  • @samauripizzacats101 Very true, because cleans give you the ability to explode when you tackle, block, etc.

  • what position do you play?

  • defensive tackle

  • Comment removed

  • Damn. Nice clean.

  • what the fuckk you cleaned 370 as a junior/senior in highschool?

  • Nice job there, dude! You got great form. Just one comment - stop using the straps. Even if you have to use less weight, stop using the straps.

  • @bsumiko stop talking please. Grip strength wouldnt be the limiting factor in cleans.

He is pretty flexible if he can use straps when he cleans.

  • @kickdim You're not making sense. Here's a direct quote from Harvey Newton's book, Explosive Lifting for Sports.

"Straps are aids used to secure the grip for repetition snatches, cleans, or high pull exercises. Needless to say, straps greatly increase the amount of weight that can be lifted. Some athletes become dependent on such aids, which are not allowed in competition."

What were you saying again, "Grip strength wouldn't be a limiting factor in cleans"??

  • @bsumiko I agree with those points. Some people do get dependent on it, but that doesnt prove grip will be a limiting factor on cleans. Grip is limiting on heavy pulls. You also dont know this guys training, he might be using straps for a injury reason. It seems like he is using his training for football, so i doubt he competes anyway. BTW all professional lifters use straps in training.

  • do you play football at TCU? cause of the banner...damn thats some explosiveness you got there.

  • @admello41 never mind you're only 17 my bad. anyway, thats incredible

  • @admello41

I do play for TCU now actually.

We were fans long before though, my Dad graduated from TCU as well.

  • @TxWtlifter "Fight 'em on the ice." Frogs for life, baby! Congrats on a killer season! Can't wait to see the mighty Frogs do it again!

Great form when receiving the bar. That's a might fine lift there. Next, I want to see a video of you cleaning 400 lbs...

  • @TxWtlifter how are you doing in football? nice lift. what program do you run?

  • 5x5? 531? westside?

  • Hey can you dunk? What is your vertical leap?

  • look at the improvement you made since your 280 clean video! good stuff keep getting stonger.....

  • dayummmm!!! im 5'11" and weigh 208 and only power clean 205 lbs. u make me look like shit. lol how long have u been lifting???

  • That is a scream of the champions my friends

  • what is the best way to improve your power clean weight

  • Perfect form

  • Whats your height & weight? Man thats some impressive explosion, nice vid.

  • @88arau

    Here I am 6'2" 265

  • my god how much do you clean now?

  • holy shit dude. if i could clean that much id be flipping cars over. godly strength...

  • Nice

  • u pull it pretty high. u could probably do more if you could recover with the weight. good stuff!

  • Hey man, got my clean up to 265 at 195 bodyweight. Whats your bodyweight in this video? What exercises do you usually do when working the clean?

  • this is how you power clean...you arent getting enough credit for this at 17 years old? you are going to the league my friend

  • impressive weight and form. a breath of fresh air from the horrible attempts at cleans you see posted by high school students all over youtube. for example....

    /watch?v=X0vVQt9OdoQ

    /watch?v=weTt9wu8Mdg

  • id have to say your technique improved since the older video of 280

  • Agreed :)

  • @ke422azn its bascially a squat.... a power clean is catching above parallel

  • @Lolercopterz but seriously a beastly clean..... i dont know any 17 year olds doing this...

  • holy shit man, your pretty explosive. no wonder your a pretty good football player with power like that. good luck at tcu buddy.

  • dude you rock

  • You are one of the few football players who actually have a triple extension and know how to catch the bar in a clean. Hold on, you CAN clean. That's awesome too. good job! Try oly weightlifting one day. Learn the snatch.

  • We use all the olympic lifts in our workout.

    Clean, Snatch, Jerks

We only max on cleans, bench, incline and squat.

  • Nice!

  • Now i know why you are the top 100 Players in Texas. Congrats on making it to TCU. Cant wait to see you play college Football.

  • Can't wait to see him in purple!

  • This is a great lift and looks like you have more in the tank from your progression.

  • haha "that was heavy"
