Where have these Tea-baggin’- fools been for the last 30 years ????
...
The Tea baggers cower from re-regulating Wall St.[their original major complaint], not reigning in the Defense budget, or removing unnecessary –‘socialistic’- tax subsidies for corporations and corp. farms, nor correcting the lower tax rates for the wealthy, than middle class !
-
Caused the devaluation of the Treasury bills/bonds, the US dollar and Wall St, - again !
But the Tea baggers cower from re-regulating Wall St., reigning in the Defense budget, removing unnecessary –‘socialistic’- tax subsidies for corporations and corp. farms,
and have now, contributed to devaluation of the Treasury bills/bonds and the US dollar.
-
And are still voting to –‘have taxpayers subsidize’- the exportation of US industries and jobs.
-
They just didn’t put enough words on those bumper stickers and illiterate, racists signs ! !
Why are the all around best places to live in the world the one's with the smallest governments ........and the worst places are all the one's with a huge government!?!?! IT'S BECAUSE THAT'S THE RIGHT WAY!! FOX NEWS RULES
@m8ra1yn1l What for telling the truth and fighting for the middle and working classes? I'll tell you something, someones a piece of garbage, but it aint Cenk - eh m8ra1yn1l? You might like to consider getting another job other than right wing propagandist...
'Thom Hartmann: Conservatives Corrupt Social Network' on you tube
Remember people if they are posting stunningly stupid, disingenuous posts that address NO facts and side with the elite - THEY ARE PROBABLY BEING PAID...
@BosPercussion By BILLIONAIRES - didn't I point to a video - WHICH YOU DIDN'T WATCH? And didn't that video point to a documentary - WHICH YOU DIDN'T WATCH? And you have a spokes person FOR THE KOCHS OPENLY ADMITTING he does this!
So I aint engaging in the same tactics AT ALL. The first poster had NO facts and I had loads! You are the embodiment of the ignorant tea party crowd - fucking us all up - yet delusionally thinking you aint...
@BosPercussion TRY AGAIN YOU MORON. TRY A FUCKING GAIN - READ MY POSTS *THEN* DO YOUR JOB AND DEFEND YOU EMPLOYERS - THE KOCK BROTHERS. They are fucking you over and you are defending them - get of your grovelling knees you spineless moron...
@StunnedByStupidity Oh there was one other thing you pretentious prick, I couldn't give a flying fuck if you want to debate me... WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE - Pythia at the Oracle of Delphi?
And Its ONLY a debate if there are two opposing points of view. Having one person (me) be right and the other BLINDLY stating otherwise (in OPPOSITION to the facts) is NOT a debate its called 'TRYING to talk sense into a bigoted right winger'
@StunnedByStupidity I don't defend anyone. You made a claim and have still not provided evidence. I have read your posts. I also don't care to read inapprpriate language, poor sentence structure, and all capital letters. It's interesting that not one of my posts has had a significant amount of those.
All these assholes are simply obstructionists, they are trolls. All reactionaries who are resistant to progress, are deeply sexually repressed and are acting like 5 year olds. This stupid Krusty the Clown smirk and those stupid monkey teeth won't work forever you ugly little virgin trolls.
Oh and does anyone else think it is fucking retarded for these nutjobs to call themselves "the tea party" ? The Tea Party was an EVENT! Not a political party! And it was orchestrated by the Sons of Liberty. Why didn't they call themselves the Sons of Liberty? And if they are going to be all melodramatic acting like they are suffering the same injustices as the coercive act then lets actually impose some coercive acts on them! haha how about a tax on crazy pills and Fox News! That'd crush them!
@durhamdf I consider myself a member of the tea party. The real issue is with government. I am against the bail outs (in fact it was because of Bush's presidency that the Ron Paul tea party started) and I am against government's involvement in the insurance industry.
@satarnag Ron Paul had nothing to do with the Tea Party's creation. The first Tea Party rallies (i.e. the begining of the Tea Party) happened in 2009 during the health care reform debate. The Koch brothers spent millions organizing "hands of my healthcare" bus tours and organized "grassroots" activists to rally in favor of not reigning in the out of control health care prices that make up the insurance company profits. Face it, you guys were easily manipulated because you were angry and clueless
@durhamdf Actually the first Tea party rally was in late 2007 for the 2008 Ron Paul presidential run. Just Google "tea party 2007 ron paul" and you'll see what I mean. Then Fox news and some jokers tried to hijack our movement and use it as an Anti-Obama rally when in truth, we were pissed off at Bush as well as Obama.
@satarnag So let me ask, you, health care costs have inflated at a rate many time the rate of inflation over the last 30 years. It is more expensive to provide charity care (which is the federal govt. paying for ER visits) than it is to provide basic preventative care. Over 30 million Americans can't afford insurance and cost us billions in tax dollars to pay for their ER visits. How do you suggest we address this issue? Just let the insurance companies take care of us?
@durhamdf The cost of medical care was relatively low until the government got involved in the 1960's. If you had a true free market health care industry, then you could easily afford health care. Right now, you have the insurance companies in bed with government, and government involved in the health care industry. Get rid of these two factors and you'll see a decrease in health care costs and open competition from insurance companies for your business.
@satarnag Typical conservative response. How about you be specific if you really have a clue what you are talking about and explain exactly how government interference has driven inflation in health care costs! Health care costs are high for a number of reasons. The insurance companies WANT to inflate prices because although their profit margins don't change, 5% profits on 10 billion dollars is much more than 5% profits on 100 million. They have entered into agreements to monopolize markets...
@durhamdf I stated that government interference along with the insurance companies being in bed with government have driven up costs. If you remove government from the picture and remove the relationship that insurance companies have with government, then you will have a true free market and lower health costs. The specifics can be found by Googling "how does government intervention affect health care" and looking at the CATO webpage result. By the way, I'm a Libertarian, like you should be.
@satarnag No specifics yourself? Government intervention has nothing to do with the increasing cost of medical procedures and drugs. The only thing you could point to is the restriction of buying across state lines. And if you remove that then companies will all just move to the state that places the least restrictions (race to the bottom). And if government drives up health care prices, why is healthcare so much cheaper in Europe and Canada where government has all but taken over?
@durhamdf Not enough character space to list the specifics. I agree with the CATO institute but couldn't copy and paste their website. So I showed you what I meant by giving you a reference for specifics. Working in the industry, I can tell you that government does drive up costs in both medical procedures and drugs (especially drugs). CATO website addresses this. Health care is paid by huge taxes on the citizens and quality suffers.
@satarnag So why is health care cheaper in Europe and Canada where the Government has practically taken over? I agree that quality will suffer some, but it is a trade off. THe best example I can think of is in patents for medicine. Yeah we want to incentivize companies to develope new drugs, so we give them a period of exclusive use of that drug once they develope it. But at the same time we want affordable medicine, what is the point of having new meds if no one can afford them. It's a balance.
@satarnag hahah the CATO institute really? That is where you get your information? From a libertarian "thinktank" with many insurance company big wigs including Charles Koch serving on the board! You really think you are going to get good information from the guys trying to keep their profits high and government intervention low?!!? God damn look into the sources you use before regurgitating bullshit
Is that guy smoking crack? Republicans got DOUBLE the donations from special interests, PACs and directly from corporate treasuries than the Democrats did from Unions, PACs and Interest groups in 2008! Let's just think about this reasonably, the Republicans are the ones preaching trickle down economics that justifies there retarded programs benefiting the wealthiest individuals and corporations at the expense of the middle class. WHY WOULD THESE CORPORATIONS TURN AROUND AND DONATE TO THE DEMS?!
@Shavarnarak we could be friends LOL. What I find (sadly) amusing is the large # of tee-party types/hypublicans who think they are united as a group. If not for the current opposition, they would be attacking each other.

But when it comes to these rodents , its Racist. If breaking the law does not make you a criminal, I know a lot of American citizens need their records erased. Ooopps, these special provisions are not for our citizens. Do not vote for politicians that do not enforce the will of the people.
Did you know "race car" spelled backwards still spells race car?
The word "eat" is the only word that, if you take the 1st letter and move it to the last, spells its past tense – ate?
And if you rearrange the letters in "Tea Party Republicans" and add just a few more letters, it spells: "Shut-up, you free-loading, progress-blocking, Loughner-loving, homophobic, resource-sucking, racist, hypocritical jerks, and face the fact that you capsized the country under Bush"?
Wow. Look at Lewis between 4:10 and 4:20. Rarely do you see a man on television - outside of UFC events - looking so horribly beaten. I almost felt sorry for him.
@Canaderek Hell no I don't feel sorry for that fucker. NEVER should comments like his pass without aggressive commentary and laughter. Fox "news" does it all the time when people tell the truth so there should be a balancing force that does it when somebody lies.

Who would they vote for? Cenk totally misreads the Tea Party's platform. Tthe Tea party was very much anti-incumbent. It was not a Republican movement; it only became so after primaries. This is why there was so much division in the Republican ranks that Dem's also tried to capitalize on (see Alaska for instance) Cenk's facts are not entirely accurate. Both parties got sizeable donations from corporate banking.
i remember how he and ventura were talking about MSNBC and how impartial Cenk turned out to be
ironic that he fills shows on MSNBC a few months later
HOWEVER, i can give him credit that he looked at some good and bad about the tea party, and yes they are not really protesting the real culprits of our economic breakdown and the RNC neo-cons have taken over the movement...

The government taking over the banking system? What a joke msnbc is and the young turks + the main stream media. This video makes me want to puke. Why would the government need to take over the banks? The banks already own the government and the fed. Do some research about the federal reserve, income tax, etc. Listening to these stupid republicans and democrats squabble over these political issues is fucking retarded.
@Kevinh1998 In my experience, I have found that people who say "do some research" more often than not have done absolutely no research themselves. They just use the phrase "do some research" to make it sound as though they've done research which is supposed to lend credibility to their arguments.
How much "research" have you actually done yourself?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@ZrazorRozenstrauch Research on what topic? What is your argument? I have done my research. Democrats and republicans both are serving somebody's special interests and its not the American people's interest they are serving. So, why fight over republican propaganda and democrat propaganda. They are all pointing fingers at each other all the time and misleading the American people to the real problems in America. Most of them, have broken their oath of office and became self serving.
Me and the team of the Oregon Pirate Party attempted to bug these AFP people at the Obama visit here in Oregon awhile ago, They wanted nothing to do with us and treated us like lepers when we mentioned "Seperation of Corporation and Government"

Cenk, you don't get it. The protest should not be against corporations but against the Government-led corporatism displayed by the Obama administration. The restriction should not be placed upon the ability for corporations to ask for bailouts, but the ability for Government to give them. The regulation should not be on business but government. This is what happens when you give the government the ABILITY to pick winners and losers, therefore creating moral hazard. You're clueless.
You realize socialists are totally against bailouts since it uses worker levied taxes to help the rich right?
Yes, you're so smart and enlightened. You people are fucking puppets doing whatever a bunch of coke snorting CEOs fucking tell you hoping their promises of jobs and riches will follow. They never do. Besides there was a time where they paid nothing and had no regulations, it was fucking horrific and resulted in unions and labor laws.
Nice personal attacks and generalization. There was NEVER a time business had NO regulation. It never existed, because ever since ancient times, and in particular, since the industrial revolution, there have been laws protecting from force, fraud, and coercion. Without these basic constructs, commerce cannot exist.
MSNBC is so cute. It's like they are some newsy type agency. Maybe when they grow up they can go to a school and learn how to be journalists. As for entertainment, I get tired of looking at old white guys
I love President Obama, voted for him will again. But we need the citizens better get together and demand for these elected officials what we really want. I don't care about party affiliation, i care about solving the issues/problems that are plaguing this nation. I'm tired of the bickering and negativity and shut this government down like the Frenc, who have balls....i don't have any issues with race. I have issues with services i deserve when i pay my goddamn taxes every year. USA suck!
It would be an utter waste of time to protest the banks, that's what this guy was getting at. Yes, it would bring attention to their greed. As if people already didn't know that banks were greedy...
But we can't change the banks. They can do what they want. But it's the GOVERNMENT which gives them money and enables them to control all of us. THE GOVERNMENT ARE THE ONES WHO TAKE THEIR BRIBES.
Leftists seem to not understand the difference between free market capitalism and crony corporatism
The tea party guy's excuses for not protesting at Wall Street are pathetic. Wall Street owns the politicians ergo it is Wall Street they should be protesting at.
And what about the Pentagon? Fiscally incompetent, wastes trillions, and can't even win a war against a bunch of nutty peasants.
The ultimate form of Big Government is government expanded into foreign lands, and the tea party is silent on America's global statism.
And why don't the TPers support legalizing gay marriage?
@Relugus i really want to avoid saying it but they are politically retarded, look at the things they are voting for against their interest. Being lead by out right lies and not really knowing about the way things work politically
@Relugus I want to get rid of the Pentagon. I want to end the wars. I want to abolish the CIA. I support gay marriage. I'm also a Tea Party supporter. There are thousands of tea partiers who agree with me.

@hackit12 Why should the rich pay a greater % of their income for government services? Do they use more of them? Why should s/he not contribute 10% and the person that makes 10,000 a year contribute 10%?
@BosPercussion Because if Rich people don't pay into the economy, the economy gets fucked. It's not their fault. It's just the way the economy works. We can't count on them to donate. That's putting the economy's fate in the hands of power-hungry people. (which is a slight generalization.)
@HatemailMagnet I understand this somewhat, but I also believe the wealthy are motivated to become more wealthy. I don't think many of them got to earn $10 mil or so and just decided I'm going to stop here, they like the desire to earn more and achieve a higher level. Also the rich are the ones that donate to charity; why not move most of the government services to the non-profit community and let those who want to donate do so.
@BosPercussion Not everything can be non-profit, right? I mean most charities benefit somewhat from the doners. Some barely make enough to keep going, and others don't make enough, and collapse. If we make public schooling, medicare, and mail to private companies, we destabalize their income. The government (in canada) has departments for regulating oil prices, food prices etc... Socialism is only bad when you carry it to an extreme, which is one reason why communism failed.
@BosPercussion and yes, rich people do donate. Poorer people donate as well, but don't you see how relying on those people to donate, and not be greedy is a huge mistake? You're right, they won't stop at 10 mil. Money is power, and the heads of big corporations want power. Not all of them are willing to give it away. At some point, we have to take a little bit from them. Even if it's only 1% more.People starve on the streets, politicians complain about debts... This is how we regulate it a bit.
@HatemailMagnet Absolutely not according to the founding documents. Our country was founded upon the principles of individual sovereignty. You helped your neightbor if you felt inclined and were able to, but you were not compelled through government. America is about being able to achieve at any level. Sidebar: Achieve is a great word I wish would come back to favor. If you want to achieve not at all, than you won't have much, i you want to achieve a lot the OPPORTUNITY is there.
@BosPercussion Honestly, I don't care about a document written by a bunch of white slave owners. No document is infallable; especially not a document as old as that one. I do agree with most of the amendments, but the "founding documents" have been modified multiple times (I think 17). By the way, the word "achieve" is an easy word to manipulate. Just because you achieve something doesn't mean it's good. By the way, America is not even close to the only country offering a lot of opportunity.
@rtwinatl I know that site... I am an atheist. Please stop forming these retarded atheist organizations... You reinforce the idea that atheism is a religion.
@hackit12 I will concede on accumulated debt, but why is Obama's FY10 budget 3.6 trillion and proposed FY11 3.518? Is there a reason we need to spend 2 trillion additional dollars per year in government services? Consumers purchase products, they don't create jobs. You need capital investment to fund that new job. That goes through the business owner and is decided by them most of the time.
@Trickle4321 You're arguing over 82B in a budget of almost 3.6T. Also I hope you're not an accountant because those numbers should be negative if they are truly net.
FY08 Bush Receipts 2.7T, Expenses 3.1T. Net .4T Deficit Spending. (Wikipedia 2009 United States Federal Budget)
Obama Receipts FY11 2.22T, Expenses 3.70T, Net 1.48T Deficit Spending (Wikipedia). Where do you source your numbers?
BosPercussion “..... those numbers should be negative if they are truly net...-
- ... Yet yours were not ... wtf ... the topic is deficits.
-
BosPercussion “..You're arguing over 82B..”
- No I was arguing over your deceptive numbers and lies [using the total expenditures ... and ignoring the tax revenue].–‘Wrong-wing’s multiple lies’- about Obama and the budget. I can not imagine, how you nut-bags CAN FALL FOR –‘so many different and contradictory’- lies ! Who is lying to you and why ?
And you cower from accepting, that all this crap is 30 years of Repub. -'proposed and signed off on'- policies. Wealth=Fare for corporations/family elitists ... failed and illegal Policies, Wars;
.. ¼ T$ per year socialism for the –‘needy Wealthy’- over 30 years is ½ the Debt !
-
Bush’s multi T$ tax cuts [sold as jobs programs] created less than 3 M jobs in 8 years. And you still fall for the talking heads, CLAPTRAP, that tax cuts [ALWAYS] create jobs.
And ignored the WHY - they should pay more for –‘greater use of infrastructure’- : labor, resources, courts, police, fire, highways/roads, schools, military, water supply, sewers, power grids, financial services and corporate/farm subsidies; ... and legal immunity to rob, harm and kill !
-
If you want to be taken serious as a rational, responsible person, you'll have to start by cutting out YOUR crap: Lies, Hyperbole, Re-Writing History, Hypocrisy and Hate
@Trickle4321 I firmly believe that entrepreneurs hire people to create a product or service that is beneficial to others as judged by a market economy. They create the jobs through putting up of capital, or other investors capital, to front expensees until a venture becomes profitable. Why should the rich pay more % of income than the poor? Because they have it? That doesn't make any sense, you are arbitrarily deciding when someone has achieved enough success.
- No you are paid, to -'not discuss certain topics'- ... and you have cowered away and distorted the infrastructure issue , 3-4 times now ! You trolls are such transparent, liars, deceivers and distractors !
I also believe the lower income earners do disproportionately use more gov't services than the wealthy. I don' have the inclination to look it up, but the sheer number of social programs should warrant this.
Are you against a fair tax? I'm very much for it - everybody pays an equal percentage - the poor man doesn't have to pay as many dollars as the rich man, but still pays something in. This way nobody gets something for nothing.
@NOBS4321 It would, but after a while you realize arguing with someone who never answers a direct question, acknowledges statistical fact (as much as can be ascertained close to fact - at a minimum generally accepted numbers), and produces no good other than random unsubstantiated put-downs, I decided you weren't really worth my time. End of story. Same old line of reasoning that the Left uses when it can't argue common sense facts.
@Trickle4321 You should pay the same % of your income... what is wrong with that? Isn't that equitable distribution :)... They won't pay more - they pay an equal percentage (and even will be less dollars than the high earners). People with money hire others to do work, you create a job when you need your lawn mowed, a waiter at a restaurant, etc. You pay people to provide a service for you. People hire and pay others because they see a profitable opportunity from investment. Your turn...
@Trickle4321 Is that due to a lack of a budget to begin with? Is that point eligible for discussion? Or shall we just pass a continuing resolution and let that point hang out in the proverbial winds. Seeing as their is no final numbers yet, your point is moot and cannot be argued that Obama is doing a better job than Bush (or other presidents) until that number is computed. Essentially you're comparing apples to nothing. I simply compared 2 FY's budget expenses & revenues.
@Trickle4321 Correct and I thought about the negatives when writing it, but I felt the fact I included the word deficit, I felt that was sufficient. Actually my numbers were total expenditures. My original point included FY10 & 11 budgets. What is deceiving about them? They are grossly higher than the Bush 3.1 budget by almost 500B each. Can you please now get back on point instead of semantics and justify how Obama is not greatly increasing both expenditures and deficits.
@hackit12 That's right they haven't initiated anything. Budget anyone? Haven't seen one.
Oh wait, there was one proposed that was voted down 97-0 in the Senate. House passed a budget. Where is the Senate and the President's? Time to put up or shut up. Living off credit ain't all it's cracked up to be.
@hackit12 They passed it a long time ago... Senate refused to vote on the issue. Also historically the President has done outlays to show the direction he would like to see spending directed. Congress officially budgets and appropriates the money.
Obama - 3.45 T in 735 days. If you increase that to a full term (considering he hasn't proposed a legitmate budget to Congress), that would be 6.85T in 4 years . Bush took 8 years to do that. 1.71T per year. Jobs -3.5M
- You are such a blatantly obvious liar and shill, obscuring the -'Total expenditures'- with the -'actual Deficit'- ... against Obama and in favor of Bush ... Doh ...
Obama added 3.45 in deficit spending to date in first 735 years. Per day it averages to .00469T/day * 1460 days in office. Lack of a passed budget by the President allows me to assume continued spending at currents rates and outlays. 6.85T over 1460 days. Divide by 4 - 1.71T per year debt under Obama administration (Estimated on Current). The country also has net job loss of 3.5M jobs. Fact.

@NOBS4321 The Necessary and Proper clause (coefficient, or elastic clause), contains the powers expressly granted to Congress NOT to the Judiciary. In the Living-constitution the Judiciary behaves in the manner of an ongoing constitutional convention; unilaterally changing the Living-constitution at will through interpretation of stare decisis. And in saying that, in time our ratified Constitution will be interpreted out of existence. I'll challenge you for a copy of said Living-constitution.
The Living-constitution preamble: We the Oligarchy of the US, in Order to form a more perfect central government, establish only criminal Justice, insure controlling Tranquility, provide for the common redistribution, promote social Welfare, and secure Liberty only to the Oligarchy and their Posterity, do establish this erratic unpublished constitution for the US.

And if they are going to be all melodramatic acting like they are suffering the same injustices as the coercive act then lets actually impose some coercive acts on them! haha how about a tax on crazy pills and Fox News! That'd crush them!
durhamdf 10 months ago
@durhamdf I consider myself a member of the tea party. The real issue is with government. I am against the bail outs (in fact it was because of Bush's presidency that the Ron Paul tea party started) and I am against government's involvement in the insurance industry.
satarnag 10 months ago
@satarnag Ron Paul had nothing to do with the Tea Party's creation. The first Tea Party rallies (i.e. the begining of the Tea Party) happened in 2009 during the health care reform debate. The Koch brothers spent millions organizing "hands of my healthcare" bus tours and organized "grassroots" activists to rally in favor of not reigning in the out of control health care prices that make up the insurance company profits. Face it, you guys were easily manipulated because you were angry and clueless
durhamdf 10 months ago
@durhamdf Actually the first Tea party rally was in late 2007 for the 2008 Ron Paul presidential run. Just Google "tea party 2007 ron paul" and you'll see what I mean. Then Fox news and some jokers tried to hijack our movement and use it as an Anti-Obama rally when in truth, we were pissed off at Bush as well as Obama.
satarnag 10 months ago
@satarnag So let me ask, you, health care costs have inflated at a rate many time the rate of inflation over the last 30 years. It is more expensive to provide charity care (which is the federal govt. paying for ER visits) than it is to provide basic preventative care. Over 30 million Americans can't afford insurance and cost us billions in tax dollars to pay for their ER visits. How do you suggest we address this issue? Just let the insurance companies take care of us?
durhamdf 10 months ago
@durhamdf The cost of medical care was relatively low until the government got involved in the 1960's. If you had a true free market health care industry, then you could easily afford health care. Right now, you have the insurance companies in bed with government, and government involved in the health care industry. Get rid of these two factors and you'll see a decrease in health care costs and open competition from insurance companies for your business.
satarnag 10 months ago
@satarnag Typical conservative response. How about you be specific if you really have a clue what you are talking about and explain exactly how government interference has driven inflation in health care costs! Health care costs are high for a number of reasons. The insurance companies WANT to inflate prices because although their profit margins don't change, 5% profits on 10 billion dollars is much more than 5% profits on 100 million. They have entered into agreements to monopolize markets...
durhamdf 10 months ago
@durhamdf I stated that government interference along with the insurance companies being in bed with government have driven up costs. If you remove government from the picture and remove the relationship that insurance companies have with government, then you will have a true free market and lower health costs. The specifics can be found by Googling "how does government intervention affect health care" and looking at the CATO webpage result. By the way, I'm a Libertarian, like you should be.
satarnag 10 months ago
@satarnag No specifics yourself? Government intervention has nothing to do with the increasing cost of medical procedures and drugs. The only thing you could point to is the restriction of buying across state lines. And if you remove that then companies will all just move to the state that places the least restrictions (race to the bottom). And if government drives up health care prices, why is healthcare so much cheaper in Europe and Canada where government has all but taken over?
durhamdf 10 months ago
@durhamdf Not enough character space to list the specifics. I agree with the CATO institute but couldn't copy and paste their website. So I showed you what I meant by giving you a reference for specifics. Working in the industry, I can tell you that government does drive up costs in both medical procedures and drugs (especially drugs). CATO website addresses this. Health care is paid by huge taxes on the citizens and quality suffers.
satarnag 10 months ago
@satarnag So why is health care cheaper in Europe and Canada where the Government has practically taken over? I agree that quality will suffer some, but it is a trade off. THe best example I can think of is in patents for medicine. Yeah we want to incentivize companies to develope new drugs, so we give them a period of exclusive use of that drug once they develope it. But at the same time we want affordable medicine, what is the point of having new meds if no one can afford them. It's a balance.
durhamdf 10 months ago
@satarnag hahah the CATO institute really? That is where you get your information? From a libertarian "thinktank" with many insurance company big wigs including Charles Koch serving on the board! You really think you are going to get good information from the guys trying to keep their profits high and government intervention low?!!? God damn look into the sources you use before regurgitating bullshit

Cenk, you don't get it. The protest should not be against corporations but against the Government-led corporatism displayed by the Obama administration. This is what happens when you give the government the ABILITY to pick winners and losers, therefore creating moral hazard. You're clueless.

@hackit12 Why should the rich pay a greater % of their income for government services? Do they use more of them? Why should s/he not contribute 10% and the person that makes 10,000 a year contribute 10%?
BosPercussion 1 year ago
@BosPercussion Because if Rich people don't pay into the economy, the economy gets fucked. It's not their fault. It's just the way the economy works. We can't count on them to donate. That's putting the economy's fate in the hands of power-hungry people. (which is a slight generalization.)
HatemailMagnet 1 year ago 5
@HatemailMagnet I understand this somewhat, but I also believe the wealthy are motivated to become more wealthy. I don't think many of them got to earn $10 mil or so and just decided I'm going to stop here, they like the desire to earn more and achieve a higher level. Also the rich are the ones that donate to charity; why not move most of the government services to the non-profit community and let those who want to donate do so.
BosPercussion 1 year ago
@BosPercussion Not everything can be non-profit, right? I mean most charities benefit somewhat from the doners. Some barely make enough to keep going, and others don't make enough, and collapse. If we make public schooling, medicare, and mail to private companies, we destabalize their income. The government (in canada) has departments for regulating oil prices, food prices etc... Socialism is only bad when you carry it to an extreme, which is one reason why communism failed.
HatemailMagnet 1 year ago
@BosPercussion and yes, rich people do donate. Poorer people donate as well, but don't you see how relying on those people to donate, and not be greedy is a huge mistake? You're right, they won't stop at 10 mil. Money is power, and the heads of big corporations want power. Not all of them are willing to give it away. At some point, we have to take a little bit from them. Even if it's only 1% more.People starve on the streets, politicians complain about debts... This is how we regulate it a bit.
HatemailMagnet 1 year ago
@HatemailMagnet Absolutely not according to the founding documents. Our country was founded upon the principles of individual sovereignty. You helped your neightbor if you felt inclined and were able to, but you were not compelled through government. America is about being able to achieve at any level. Sidebar: Achieve is a great word I wish would come back to favor. If you want to achieve not at all, than you won't have much, i you want to achieve a lot the OPPORTUNITY is there.
BosPercussion 1 year ago
@BosPercussion Honestly, I don't care about a document written by a bunch of white slave owners. No document is infallable; especially not a document as old as that one. I do agree with most of the amendments, but the "founding documents" have been modified multiple times (I think 17). By the way, the word "achieve" is an easy word to manipulate. Just because you achieve something doesn't mean it's good. By the way, America is not even close to the only country offering a lot of opportunity.
HatemailMagnet 1 year ago
@HatemailMagnet "....especially not as old as that one."
Agreed! So what does that say about "The Bible" or "The Koran" ?

@Trickle4321 I firmly believe that entrepreneurs hire people to create a product or service that is beneficial to others as judged by a market economy. They create the jobs through putting up of capital, or other investors capital, to front expensees until a venture becomes profitable. Why should the rich pay more % of income than the poor? Because they have it? That doesn't make any sense, you are arbitrarily deciding when someone has achieved enough success.

BosPercussion 6 months ago

@Trickle4321 Correct and I thought about the negatives when writing it, but I felt the fact I included the word deficit, I felt that was sufficient. Actually my numbers were total expenditures. My original point included FY10 & 11 budgets. What is deceiving about them? They are grossly higher than the Bush 3.1 budget by almost 500B each. Can you please now get back on point instead of semantics and justify how Obama is not greatly increasing both expenditures and deficits.

@hackit12 They passed it a long time ago... Senate refused to vote on the issue. Also historically the President has done outlays to show the direction he would like to see spending directed. Congress officially budgets and appropriates the money.

@hackit12 You forgot one....
Obama - 3.45 T in 735 days. If you increase that to a full term (considering he hasn't proposed a legitmate budget to Congress), that would be 6.85T in 4 years . Bush took 8 years to do that. 1.71T per year. Jobs -3.5M
BosPercussion 6 months ago
@BosPercussion .....
- You are such a blatantly obvious liar and shill, obscuring the -'Total expenditures'- with the -'actual Deficit'- ... against Obama and in favor of Bush ... Doh ...
hackit12 6 months ago
@hackit12 How so?

As for the people, they are on the road to serfdom. Tea Party, bring back our Constitution!
