There was a show on the sci-fi network (they have change the initials since then) that had a show with a man named John Edwards, who claimed he saw the dead. Derren almost had some of his show aired years ago on this network. Does anyone know if that can not be on the table again because Derren would debunk shows on the network, both old and new?

The girl was a participant whose profession was an actress. He uses Stephen Fry and Matt Lucas who are both actors also. Doesn't mean the were "on the job"

New scientist is a magazine, it is not peer reviewed by scientists, nor sourced or referenced by academics. Its for the lay person and as such supports science and sensationalises ideas which could sell copies. If you want to read a good science journal maybe try 'Nature' instead?

AFW, may have his own ideas but he is regarded as a fringe theorist in those areas and has produced no compelling data for his claims.

@morriganish - LOL, don't believe everything you read. For things to be proven, they have to be tested in all situations, blind tested at that. So far NOBODY has proven the existence of powers/ghosts etc - James Randi (famous skeptic) has offered ONE million dollars to anyone who can prove any of this to him. He says himself it would be a pleasure to hand over the money as it would show a huge scientific discovery. Science just wants the truth, it doesn't want to stay blindfolded.

@fedokosmokrator - did you see the show last night? it was excellent and done with no emotion (as the 'medium' showed, he was very emotional about it and reacted extremely badly and refused to do tests on his 'ability').

I cannot wait to see the next episode. I've always been a skeptic, but like derren says 'it would be nice to be proved wrong and these people have real powers' - but sadly, this is not so. Just a case of people wanting to believe so they feel they have power over their life.

I thought the Messiah was brilliant, but now it just looks like he's out of ideas. And it's really easy to make a case for yourself against the paranormal. I've watched everything else he's done, and will watch this as well, but it doesn't look groundbreaking or amazing at all.
