I really like the way this GLI Jetta looks. I also prefer the interior styling of the Jetta more than the Civic and other cars in it's class. The only thing that scares me about possibly getting this car is the dependability. I'd want to keep it for more than 4 years.

@Macintosh247 Agreed. By all accounts the Jetta styling will age well and still look fresh many years down the road.

@diulesing7 All 2012 Jetta GLI models have a soft touch dash not unlike those found on the 2012 Golf, GTI and Tiguan models. This lends to a more upscale feel and presentation.

@Macintosh247 Thanks for commenting. Dependability is a great consideration, especially if you're new to the brand. You should know the drivetrain and many of the vehicle electronics have been employed and improved in our line-up since 2006. The 2.0T motor was heavily updated in 2009 which resulted in better fuel mileage and cured some looming complaints in the 06-08 motor such as above-average oil consumption. For these reasons and more you should have no dependability concerns.

Thanks for sharing the video. Nice to actually see the GLI in deep black. Test drove one in "candy" white and ordered it in black the next week. Can't wait to pick it up...I was told it could take 30 to 60 days

@gestaltoo Congrats! The GLI is nice in every colour but the black does an especially good job of setting off all the chrome trimming.

ok i was able to get mine a few weeks sooner so I've driven it for about 2 weeks. the only thing i found glitchy was if you plug in your phone(iphone) and then start the car, the sync with the MP3 player doesn't always work. it shows playing a song but no sounds. i have to turn off the car and then wait about 1 minute then attach my iphone.

@terryboy76 Interesting. Our experience using iPod devices is not consistent with your iPhone use. One consideration is that the iPhone (especially iPhone 4) draws more power, which may affect the speed in which the device loads and plays. Just a thought. You could have the system inspected by your local dealer if symptoms continue.
