  • Ash Ketchum takes off his hat and becomes a model.

  • Fucking chillbumps.

  • a cool story about john i think it is.......He was young and had a nightmare and ran into his parents room and slept with them for the night in the morning there was a bullet hole in his bed where he would've been sleeping

  • Really??? When did he tell this? o.o

  • where'd u hear this???

  • System will be back. Trust me. They're having success elsewhere as Serj and Scars, but they will be back. They're young enough to do at least one tour of the band that made them famous. I'd say more than one. System will not die.

  • Question haven't heard from this band forever, can someone update me. What happened to Serj Tankian is he going solo or is he going back with System of a Down? Is the band still on or did they split? thanks

  • just kind of a hiatus. When they broke the news to everyone, they said "We'll be back, we just don't know when"

  • Their doing what kiss did.

  • what? they kissed? lol jk.

  • this is really awesome i wish i could acually play this

  • fuckin beautiful

  • Did any one of the members of System of a Down experience fame at a young age?

  • nope

  • was just wondering because maybe that was what inspired them to write this song.

  • for system music its about what ever it means to you dont look at it politically unless you want to just enjoy it

  • i have the string quartet album. the whole album actually sounds like the actual songs from the album.

  • The original is one of my fav songs, so I can't say this is better, but it's really good : )

  • this is amazing.

  • this is part of a handful of tributes where the string beats the actual song. incredible.

  • love it

  • it's even better than the real song!

  • uh yeah i don't know about that. lol

  • I love the music but I dont get the video!?

  • fame sucks

  • It's impossible to say what the video is about exactly.. but look at it, a child star in the center ring, suggests maybe being in the spot light at a young age will distort him. Hence the strange face. "loose ourselves but we find it all" Being this star you loose who you really are but you gain everything else.

  • zarpado, quien lo tocan?

  • system of a down (?

  • I think this is my fave song by VSQ. Awesome...

  • My fave is Enjoy the silence

  • Beautiful. Can someone find sheet music?

  • Did you ever stop to think that there was a reason I asked for the sheet music, rather than make it myself?

I don't know how to write music, nor could I transcribe this onto paper; I don't know how.

I don't have the time to learn.

I want to be able to put this whole project together by the end of the year.

There's my reasons. I'm all for innovation and doing things yourself, but really? Come on. For sake of time, I'm gonna say 'fuck innovation' on Aerials. Callous as it may be, that's my view.

  • I can second that. No need to invent the wheel over and over.

  • :0 Holy shit...my mouth hit the floor when I heard this...amazing!!

  • beautiful....

  • it is wonderfully done and truly epic lol 5/5

  • woow, great!

  • wonderfully covered...it sounds like it was originally written with these orchestra instruments :] love the quartet

  • Not one of my favorite tributes by them, but some of their other stuff is better than the originals.

  • I'd like to know who these guys are, in every case they're great

  • How was this song ruined? The quartet did an excellent job covering this song!

  • epic

  • love it

  • it says in the title who it is sucka!

String mutha fuckin quartet. also known as the section quartet

  • Actually, The String Quartet and The Section Quartet are two different groups.

  • this cant be apocalyptica they are all Cello this is a variety of strings here

  • awesome!

  • lmfao

    awesome!

  • lol epic. It's a perfect copy of it too.

  • Definitely one of the video's i'm putting on the ipod. I don't put many on, cus transferring youtube vids to ipod is a real hassle for me, but this will be worth it.

  • nice dude :)

  • sooo awesome :)

I wanna play this on my cello!!!

  • they should have one by metallica sound like this

  • They do, but it's with cellos: 'Apocalyptica'.

  • Yeah, Apocalyptica are really good! Incredible cellists to say the least.

  • did you just play guitar hero and decide that that was their best song

    like so many others

    =/

  • Like how everyone says Dragonforce's best is Through Fire and Flames? :P

  • Their album with the LSO was pretty amazing. You should check that out if you haven't already.

  • Wow. i can just imagine when apocalyptica play this one. <3

  • all of the string quartet system covers sound like original classical pieces

i think that just shows how serj and the guys are such amazing composers of music, that their hard rock and metal songs almost emulate a classical piece, and sound so perfect when performed in that way. aerials especially

  • Also, an interesting thought experiment, that if some classical composers were alive today, perhaps they would be swinging guitar "Axes". Afterall, a musician is restrained and confined by the instruments available at the time.

  • uhh...i dont know about that. i like system of a down but that is kind of a stretch. most all string quartet covers sound like classical pieces...

  • what do you mean this doesn't sound like a classical piece??

  • I think he meant it sounds too classical. If so, I'd agree :) But the sound is still wonderful

  • I fucking love this.

  • i love the string tribute to lonely day and hypnotize the best

  • I've only recently discovered this whole string quartet thing; apparently pretty much anything good has a string quartet cover.

But when I saw a System string quartet.... shit man, that's orgasmic.

Hell yeah System Of A Down; rocking my socks for five years and still going

  • cool sound..its good and harmonious they really are good in covers

  • wow... this is just amazing ^^ i love it!!!!

  • I love these string quartet tributes, they add a new eloquence and face to the music. They also keep the tone and dynamics of the original song. Rock on!

  • awesome...

  • This is brilliant. I find it quite sad that loads of SOAD fans are coming on here thinking they're all hardcore and going "OMG IT'S NOT METAL. CRAAAAAP." Learn to appreciate good music. I think this piece is a very good arrangement and works well, BUT, remember, that it IS a different arrangement, and because it's a song, you shouldn't have played all the verses, because without words it gets pretty repetitive.

But this is truly amazing! Whoever arranged this has great talent. =)

    manda xx

  • i'm a big soad fan, i think this is awesome

  • I Totally agree with ya on that one.

This Kind of music should be more appreciated

-Coming from a BIG SOAD Fan.

  • Yet another comment coming from a "huge System fan":

I love this music. I think most "true" System fans would (or rather should) appreciate this. It's great.

  • Why is the tribute to Tool's Ticks and leeches on among the tributes? it's by far the best.

  • yeah i think string quartet rocks. they are an amazing band. they do great covers of all the greatest music. i think some people get mad that they cover the songs that people love and make them sound different, but remember that it's just a "tribute" and they are interpreting the music in their own way.

  • the point is that there is no point, it's music

it's al perception and interpretation, nothing is supposed to be anything at all, just let it be.

  • I understand what you mean. But the string q. version doesn't make me feel that SOAD does (in that song). There is not that "magic" comunication. In return, when I listen some of their versions of Iron Maiden or the song Hypnotize I do feel that "thing".

  • theyre a fuckin awesome band alright.

  • This is an amazing version, maybe they didnt find your 'point' but they pressed my buttons alright yes sir. you see the lyrics are vague as fuck, you could intepret them loads of differant ways. some people might be like 'fuck that how can you do that' but pssh PLAYA!

  • beathovens değil o beethoven.

  • This Is the Most Amazing thing I have Ever Heard! incredible! ive gotta find this cd!

  • better than apocalyptica...

  • This actually isn't Apocalyptica, it's the Vitamin String Quartet.

  • Not Apocalyptica, good job though

  • beathovens cunt is a good song by serg and soad is still good but i love them they rock

  • Dude you say the exact same comment on every string tribute video with only the band name changing. Come up with something new to say, seriously.

  • Well you could come up with something a little more personal to each video, your like that boss that no one likes that asks every employee the same set of questions off a list to try to seem more friendly.

  • so how the fuck does it affect u its his comment not yours

  • Fool.

  • they havent split up man!! stop worrying their just having a break!@!@@

  • soad are the best.

  • wow good job, i loved it. i hope soad works out, idk if they have split up or wat, but serj is making his own music...i hope they stay together forever and ever

  • I dont know. I liked Serj's cd more than some SOAD albums (Toxicity, for example)

  • Dude, Toxicity was amazing.

  • toxicity was good and so was soad as a band but their music got old, their songs were very repetitive. i love soad but serj is making some amazing music on his own.

  • Yeah I'd agree with that. I think their best was probably Steal This Album, then Mezmerize was only a little less good, and I didn't really care for Hypnotize as much.

  • to me anything SOAD is amazing

  • ya hypnotize was not the greatest cd ever. their self entitled cd was good.

  • I miss the voice of serj it makes this song so more powerfull but this is still really good, I like it:D

  • whoahhhh?

I listened to Aerials over 30 times and this was a nice change! very nice!

  • niiiice))

  • this is very nice; 5 stars, but it would be so awesome if you could have an entire orchestra and some big-ass drums in the thing...it does it's best to capture the wrath of the song and the anger dipped in depression and sorrow (at least that's what it is to me) but it's not hard and brash enough if you ask me. but still, for a wonderful string quartet portion, 5 stars!

  • I play on violin and I'm a SOAD fan. Thats really cool:)

  • Oh my God this is amazing! I love the ringing of violins

  • well the thing is, its a Quartet, only 4 instruments, two violins, one viola and one cello. They`re amazing!!!!! keep it coming!

  • Amazing how a few Violins and Cellos can do to a song huh? It can totally change the tone of the music. :) Beautiful work of art here!

  • Extremely well done! I love it!

  • This string version is very good, almost scary even, but keep up the good work! (by the way, did you write it, or find it somewhere?)

  • really cool

  • AMAZING

    I LOVE IT

  • absolutely coool

  • I'm a fan of both classical and rock/metal. Its a great cover, but I think there needs to be more layers to the music and Timpany drums to give it more of a driving beat.

  • I agree. It would help with several of their covers, and louder or more bass players would help fill the sound out as well.

  • that was the best cover i have ever seen

  • I think it should be a bit lauder but it's amaizing cause the song sounds very softly i like it...

  • As good as the Toxicity version.

  • I like it, and I'm like THE hardest rocker you'll ever find =p and soad is definatly not heavy metal, they're alternative

  • depends what song, it varys with each

  • It's a version and SOD there are not heavy metal

  • Superb.

  • waw thats cool as fk

  • This is awesome ! :]]]]

  • omg is there any way i can get the string quartet sheet music???

  • really hard to find

  • really hard to find...as in you've found it but it was hard or you're still looking?

  • Even if the music is great, string tributes make the music a billion times better.

  • oh boy how fuckin cool is that, soad on celli, woohoo

  • damn i cant headbang to this! =]

  • your not really supposed to. you meant to listen then tune into classic fm

    not really

but it would be funny if you did

  • naw man the kid's face isn't real... he's suppose to be a metaphor for something, what exactly i forgot but it has something to do with how weird society is....

Anyway that was pretty damn cool

  • ...ROFL ay people who actually think the kid is real.....

  • yeah tell me about it...

  • wow tou simplement bon le violont

  • im not trying to mean at all but is that kid a digital thing or real i dont mean to be in anyway direspectful

  • That Asain kid some serious surgery man his eyes were up to his forehead O.o

  • This is good, it would have been awesome though if you synced with the original track.

  • This is too phat!

  • nice song....nice version...great work

  • ...Amazing... I still can't stop crying to stuff like this.

  • yeah muy chingon deberian de escuchar el tributo a atreyu que realizo string quartet

  • I hate to say it, but this doesn't work as well as some other rock songs arranged for strings. I think the tempo should be slowed down. There are parts that work well, sounding like early 20th century classical music, but it's too repetitive without lyrics, and the volume being so constant makes it rather unemotional. The common characteristic of everything wrong with it is that it's too literal an arrangement. Also, it's odd to have it synched up with a video that shows the band playing...

  • I think it's the most challenging and consistent piece i've heard from this string quartet so far, i only discovered them today - I've seen the APC and Tool videos that are floating around and this is my personal favourite with 3 Libras coming in a close second (Where you've written a very similar comment about the sounds being mechanical and too literal ;) ) and i couldn't disagree more. I find it pacey and emotive, and the main violin/vocal melody is really soaring.

  • Funny, on a second listen I'm enjoying it more. The arrangement is better than I had thought before. However, I still find it a bit monotonous, almost like some late romantic piece where the dynamics aren't being played well. The melodies are good, but the volume really stays the same the whole way through, which is what makes it feel too literal to me. It's not bad by any means, just not as good as the Kronos Quartet, for example.

  • You should hear their newest work...Dream Theater. I have a couple videos of it mixed with the original tracks if you're interested in hearing it.

  • awesome!! amazing

  • oh man this is awesome

  • awsome

  • I love strings that play the vocalist.

  • Fantastic
