If the Germans were bringing supplies to the camps, (ledgers document supplies, medicine) the bombings would have eliminated all means of getting necessities to the camps. Starvation, epidemic disease & massive deaths would quickly follow & might explain most of what the allied forces witnessed when they "liberated" the camps. According to the UN, Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories is illegal. Hamas agreed to the 1967 borders but Israel will not, & so Israel continues to build settlements in the Palestinian West Bank territory with US support of this illegal activity. @murphyjp30 If you're suggesting that Hezbollah would lay cease hostilities if Israel withdrew from Shebaa farms, I can't say I agree with you. Hezbollah rejects the state of Israel entirely and sees it as a temporary anomaly in a Muslim stronghold. They'll be happy to see Israel withdraw from the farms but I seriously doubt that that would be the end of it. The conflict will end when Israel is either once and for all accepted or dismantled as a jewish state.

I can tell you my own experience. I spent 20 years not looking seriously into this conflict, and bought into the propaganda, believing that palestinians did have a case. Its easy to believe, because no one expects the level of barbarity that Islam produces.
It wasnt until I spent a few months studying Islam that I realized that this conflict is really the face of jihad when its not making progress.
Education on Islam is Israel's best friend in this issue. Europe needs it for sure.
So basically what I'm saying is no, the world does not know. Most of the world's opinion is coloured by massive and mind numbing propaganda that comes from every corner of islam.

If the Germans were bringing supplies to the camps, (ledgers document supplies, medicine) the bombings would have eliminated all means of getting necessities to the camps. Starvation, epidemic disease & massive deaths would quickly follow & might explain most of what the allied forces witnessed when they "liberated" the camps. War is brutal & all suffering is uniquely personal.

According to the UN, Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories is illegal. Hamas agreed to the 1967 borders but Israel will not, & so Israel continues to build settlements in the Palestinian West Bank territory with US support of this illegal activity. My issue with Israel is not a Jewish issue. It is a political & legal issue. Israel should not use the excuse of Jewish (human) suffering in Europe as a reason to push a political agenda & to occupy & displace the people of Palestine.

Given the IAF's complete command of the air, the IDF's advantages in artillery, armour etc... you can make a good argument that Hizbullah won a strategic victory by showing that the IDF is vulnerable to certain tactics despite its overwhelming strengths. Some might call that an "ass kicking." IMO it's more of a stalemate than anything else because both sides were back to square one very quickly. Neither side has the ability to truly prevail.

Hezbollah rejects the state of Israel entirely and sees it as a temporary anomaly in a Muslim stronghold. They'll be happy to see Israel withdraw from the farms but I seriously doubt that that would be the end of it. The conflict will end when Israel is either once and for all accepted or dismantled as a jewish state.

In 1982, Syria bombed the Palestinian city of Hama, killing up to 40,000 people. Survivors were rounded up, imprisoned and tortured. In 1991, Kuwait expelled over 400,000 Palestinians when Arafat sided with Saddma Hussein after the first Gulf War. Egypt currently has a blockade against the Palestiniansm, refusing to let any aid through.

I dont think many of the people that go over there to "help" are essentially evil.
They are simple naive idealists that are gullible enough to believe the propaganda that comes from Islam.
Israel is the ONLY country that has stopped jihad in its tracks. Israelis need to be educating world leaders on what islam is. Because many of them are also falling for the propaganda.
I cringe when I see leaders like obama stand up and say "I know islam is a peaceful religion". My ass it is.

@berenjervin I wish I could believe that the Rachel Corries of this world were only "Gullible." or "naive" We Jews hold firm to a fantasy that the hatred directed against us is some sort of misunderstanding, and that if only we could get some good press everything would be fine. Its not a misunderstanding. It is antisemitsm plain and simple. I've spoken to dozens of Pro Palestinian and anti Zionist activists. Anti semitism is at their core.

I agree there is a core of antisemitism in the world. But there are also a lot of gullible people.
The problem israel really has is that it is losing the propaganda war. Islamists are relentless in the anti israel propaganda they spew out. People actually believe BS like "israel happily kills innocent people".
Muslims are portraying themselves as victims, with some success. Israel would be wise to do the same. Let in some rockets, then milk the attacks for all you can.

@berenjervin I hate to say it but again I must disagree! The world knows what the Arabs are. They know their cause is unjust. There are no basic human rights in the Arab world. How can they be right about anything? Anyone looking at a map can see that the Arabs control a sixth of the worlds land mass while Israel is 9 miles end to end. (at its narrowest point) Who is occupying who? Israel needs to do what all nations do. They must fight to win! Propaganda war be damned!

What allows a person to grow up, learn about the ME conflict, then decide that Israel is wrong?
Either people are inherently evil, or something else is turning them against Israel - which like you say, IS the victim of unjust blood lust for jihad.
If its because people are inherently evil, there is no hope.
I believe thats not true. Its massive propaganda that is making the difference, so thats where the real fight is

I can tell you my own experience. I spent 20 years not looking seriously into this conflict, and bought into the propaganda, believing that palestinians did have a case. Its easy to believe, because no one expects the level of barbarity that Islam produces.
It wasnt until I spent a few months studying Islam that I realized that this conflict is really the face of jihad when its not making progress.
Education on Islam is Israel's best friend in this issue. Europe needs it for sure.

So basically what I'm saying is no, the world does not know. Most of the world's opinion is coloured by massive and mind numbing propaganda that comes from every corner of islam.
It makes a great deal of difference in world opinion. Dispelling that propaganda and letting people see the real islam will change a lot of people's opinion.

The recent "flotilla of peace" stunt should be a wake up call for israel on just how effective a few years of propaganda can be.
That incident makes me worry about the future of mankind. It demonstrates that reality can mean less than fantasy. How is it that man can be smart enough to explore the solar system, yet so stupid they cant figure out who the bad guys are?

@berenjervin When Israel decides not to fight back, it actually loses world support. I bet you didn't know that. When it allows rocket attacks it sends the message that it does not believe in its own cause. It says they care more about European 's newspapers more than its own children. Throughout the last 62 years Israel's stock has gone straight up every time it defied the world and fought back. Especially in 1948 and 1967. The world loves a winner, especially one who believes in their cause

You are right, its only been the last year or so that I've understood the reality of this whole conflict. I'm still learning.
I'm not sure Israel would lose support if it portrayed itself as the victim, but I havent been following this long enough (after getting past the propaganda) to know for sure.
Either way, I sure hope the rest of the world wakes the hell up soon, because world reaction in the last year is pretty embarrassing and depressing.

@berenjervin Again we must keep in mind there is nothing whatsoever legitimate about the Arab cause against Israel.The best they can come up with is that some Arabs became refugees when they lost the war to "drive the Jews into the sea." or that they are occupied because they continue to TRY to drive the Jews into the sea, as if murdering Jews was a basic human right.

Yup, "Palestine" is no different than the other dozen odd muslim conflicts in the world. The excuses change like the days of the week, but its Jihad for world domination.
The simple fact is, Israel is the ONLY country in the world today that has jihad stopped in its tracks. European countries will face this exact same situation when they decide they want to get off the "Islamic bus" taking them towards genocide.
Many muslims openly admit this is whats in store for Europe.

Yup, it started in 1936 with the Arab revolt where many jewish were killed.
When you read descriptions of "Palestine" from the 1800s, and piece together history, it was a desolate uninhabited area until jews built it up and muslims immigrated to the area for work. Soon, the muslims wanted it, so trotted out the claim the jews "stole their land".

@berenjervin It actually started well before that. Ever wonder how the ancient biblical city of Hebron became "the Palestinian city of Hebron?" In 1929 the Arabs murdered or drove out all the Jewish inhabitants. Now returning Jews (since the 1967 liberation) are called "settlers"

In fact, the ONLY reason Jerusalem is considered holy to muslims is because its holy to Judaism. Muslims have a LONG history of desecrating other religions, or turning religious sites into mosques.

I'm not sure this is true. A VERY large difference in the world today is instant communications. The internet gives MILLIONS of muslims the opportunity to wage a propaganda war to paint themselves as the victims. The stupid, the gullible, and the naive fall for it.
In WW2, Nazi propaganda was not rampant in western society like islamic propaganda is today. But if it was, you might very well be right.

The point is the same however if they decided to place their world war 2 refugees from one small section of Nazi Germany in camps (the dueseldorfastinian people) and claimed it was all do to American and British occupation.

makes more and more and more Europeans , me incl most english I know say they would go to help the palestinians, in a way I almost want the IDF to carry on being a BULLY as they are turning world opinion against them soon 10000s of us will come to aid the down trodden and bullied, how many films of the truth do we have to see b4 the USA puts sanctions on Israel, in the UK we kicked out a diplomat over the Piracy the IDF carried out, Bless Rachel and people wiv courage 2 stand against the IDF :)
