Hey i got an iPhone 4 yesterday from US Apple Retail Store and the guy told me it's unlocked i got a 16GB for 649$. I realized that the back of the box says AT&T logo. I went back to the store and made sure its unlocked the guy said its only the box that has the AT&T Logo but the iPhone works on all GSM Carriers around the world. The only reason i used ur name in response is so people would see it at the top of the comments. Factory unlocked phone by apple will support 3g on any gsm carrier, the cydia unlock does not support 3g. it's as simple as that. Think about it, if apple unlocked it and it only worked on 2g when they have 3g, they would be falling behind even more than they are already. They'd be 2 "g's" behind.

in the us T-Mobile runs one the 1700Mhz band but in the UK they run on the 1900Mhz band so thats why an iphone in the us running on tmobile cant get 3g connection. The iphone doesnt support the 1700mhz band.
