  • It didn't sell well because of DOOM, I still have to try this but I am worried about how you can save in this game and how the game, as it is old, if it will show objectives and destinations clear and make it understandable of what and where I have to go and do basically.

  • Great review. Would you consider Bioshock a horror game.

  • @zztoprules1 Thanks for checking it out. I wouldn't consider Bioshock a horror game but you could stretch it a bit if you needed it for a list like this. It doesn't have the same tone as most of the horror games I have played in the past but does share some qualities.

  • I just beat it this morning... it took me all summer to complete...oh good lord I can whole heartedly say that im content with this being the greatest game I have ever played and im not going to ever forget it

  • Is this game PC only?

  • Excellent review, thanks!

  • "The cake is a lie..."

  • i know a website where you can download this game free and legally just send me a massage

  • I love to see a remake of System shock 2! It was not for System shock 2 we would not have Bioshock one of all time favorite games! Does anyone knows if there still gonna make a System Shock 3?

  • @Se7enBeatleofDoom

I wouldn't expect to see system shock 3 any time soon, maybe if deus ex : human revolution sells well EA might decide to do something with the SS IP to cash in on its success. Here's hoping at least!

  • @HAETMUNGOR You know, I would love this game if they were to just re-release it as an exact copy with updated graphics. It would take very minimal work, and they could cash in hardcore on it. Hell, its already got all the voice acting in it already... its almost flawless.

  • umm i just noticed something dead space ripped this off

  • i dont see whats scary about it? i have it but i dont get scared as much as people say whats the deal?

  • It's 2114, not 2014. If it were 2014, how could SS1 have taken place in 2072?

  • How would I play this game if I don't have an old pc?

  • awww i cant take scarry games whyd i decide to download this awww o well 30 minutes to go cant back out now.

  • YOU SPOIL TOO MUCH IN EVERY REVIEW!!! AGGAGGHAGHH! You're lucky I played 95 percent of your reviews. That in mind, I enjoy these quite a lot!

  • im thinking of getting system shock 2 cuz i heard its a lot like bioshock

and i LOVED bioshock so is system shock 2 worth it?

  • @fudgeyum hell yea and if you get it contact me so we can do coop

  • @fudgeyum

Well it's a lot harder than bioshock and is also very scary but if you think your up to it then the torrent download works well

  • I hate horror games that's consists of random screamer or screamer-like 'horror'.

It's amazingly cheap and not fun to play, however system shock 2 is a good game, just I don't like the screamer-like elements.

  • kinda reminds me of doom 3 mixed with bioshock

  • Nice :D

  • Does anyone know where I could get this game, Would It run on Window's Vista?

  • You need to review The Huanting on PS2, before I kill you!

  • i want to play this game so bad but its like $100 buck on amazon lol

  • @L33T798 I found it for 8bucks on ebay

  • @AlbertInSanAntonio I found it for $243 D:

  • There's a lot of things in this game that are in Bioshock still a great game irrational out did themselves

  • It is NOT mainly a shooter! It is mainly a horror game! Then it is a RPG/sneaking/shooter mix. If youre playing it like a shooter, YOURE DOING IT WRONG!

  • I think this game didn't do as well, not so much because it didn't blend RPG and FPs elements together, but didn't blend them together all that well. Combat could be a bit awkward at times, and wepon degration a little to extreme. Your gun would fall apart after you ran through two clips or so. That may not have been the best decision, plus the game required a lot of micro management where it probably shouldn't have. That being said, I still loved the game for its unique atmosphere and setting.

  • while i agree that the degredation system was very extreme, but the combat was perfect. if your having trouble downing enemies, you didnt build your character well enough to complete the game.

  • Oh I wasn't referring to the difficulty of combat, but more to the fact that other games of that period did better in translating action to the screen. To me it always seemed a bit rough cut and could have used some extra work to make it feel more organic and real. When you hit something, it really felt like you were just sapping away HP. Also, features like leaning sideways was hardly ever useful and movement in general just seemed to be a bit off. Mouse control could have been better, too.

  • @peri2502 i can kind of see your points, but i use the lean feature all the time. its extreamly useful for taking out turrets without getting yourself killed. i kind of liked the sapping away hp, made the game feel more like a horror rpg, which there isnt many of. i will say tho that i enjoyed the first ones combat much more, like a blend of a rails shooter with an action game. more freedom.

  • how did it not blend the RPG and FPS elements together well?

  • This game kinda reminds me of half life but with a more scary plot.

  • Look at you Hacker... I forgot the rest lol.

  • @hobbit2245

A Pa-Pa Pathetic Creature of Meat and Bone. Panting as you wander through my corridors.

Damn S.H.O.D.A.N., that bitch still gives me nightmares. She makes H.A.L. look like a puppy dog.

  • @hobbit2245 L-l-l-look at you hacker! Phanting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect important machiiinnne?

  • nice review, but one little error in your narration, the game takes place in 2114. Just thought I'd bring that to mind :)

  • Thanks for the heads up! I knew it was sometime in the future - thanks for the fact check.

  • love love LOVE this game, some of my fondest gaming memories.

SO scary! Not the best graphics but the environment, lighting and sound really get to you.

It's true that it didn't sell as well as it should, it's not very often that I mention SS2 and get the "FUCK YEAH!" that I'm hoping for. Usually someone has played Bioshock but has never heard of System Shock 2. I must admit I never played the original System Shock, but to be fair it was before my time. I was 16 when SS2 came out.

  • SS is free now, if your interested in playing it PM me as its abandonware and ill show you how to set up dosbox and get it working :) imho its better then ss2 in some aspects.

  • hashaha plankton i would love to have system shock 3 would be well good. Again locke a very good review as are all the others in your horror game reviews

  • I just love the voice of the ai :D The woman who did the voice work is also doing it for Interstellar marines! :D

  • This game is definitely in the my all time top5. So incredibly great and really scary.

I hope they make a sequel of it at some point.

Screw Bioshock, I want System Shock!

  • Hell yeah, I'd pre-order that game for sure!
