@dpi363 Hey, I am a C/O up in Washington and one of my co-workers told me that in Texas they need officers pretty bad. @dpi363 Yeah, I did see the payscale on the website, and it is something that I took into consideration. But, the cost of living in Texas is cheaper than it is here in Washington and feel like it might come out the same. This is awesome! I worked for TDCJ back in 2007. It's really too bad that most of the CO's and the officers don't support this kind of ministry and that they could make a positive difference in just one inmates life so that maybe that one inmate may not reciprocate back to prison. A lot of the the officers have the mentallity that no one can change. The crazy thing is, I see more of the officers not willing to change. Not saying they're bad people. They have a job to do. God Bless All.
I think this is great what you are doing for these individuals. Many of these men are fathers and people on the outside care about them. Some of the individuals needs to know that they are not alone. All people are not bad people and just need to turn there life around for the positive. in addition, society needs to give individuals a second chance once they do there time. I am just a person that care about all people. Thanks for making their day brighter.
HaHa. I remember this. I was up in the tower with the rifle. I guess you forgot to get my pic. I had your back though. was ready to preserve the peace. You should see how these guys act when they are not putting on a show for you. Majority of them are just handicapped convicts at heart.
All I know is God looks at everybodys hearts and that nobody should judge anybody. Except for God & his son Jesus. Justice to, hopefully prove 100% someones guilt or innocence.
I do not approve of murder, rape, burglary, ect but whether they are sorry or not and what happens to them should be up to God to decide.
Look This was a nice program that was put on for the inmates. That is all When was the last time someone did something nice for the men and women Correctional Officers who baby sit the other 364 days of the year????
Siconyte you have no idea what an offender is. Im more educated than you will ever dream to be. I am a Texas Tech graduate and make more than your whole family a year. I'm no different than you. I was put in one of your facilities for a q-tip turning blue for a substance i would not disclose. Why does that make me an animal. You sit in your picket and eat jelly donuts while we are locked in a concrete barrier with no AC and shitty food. YOU MAKE BETS WITH FELLOW EMPLOYEES ON PRISON FIGHTS.
the people who sympathize wikth inmates havent even been in a prison. try walking through that sally port gate and deal with these fuckers and see if they are so called human. this is comming from a fellow TDCJ CO IV. someone who deals with this scum every day
YOU apparently are in the wrong job with all that hatred running in your veins. Every Texas of Nationwide offender ARE Human Beings... Scum is what it apparently corroding the very walls of your own heart. I have seen the inside of a sally port... And am currently in a higer paying position than a CO IV whereas I am directly impacting the corroded systems of TDCJ which unfortunately includes the poor hiring system of such uneducated CO's as yourself.
I posted 4 months ago, my views have fully changed, I was still new on that post, and I have learned that offenders don't give a shit about anything but themselves, all they want out of this program is time out of the cell and time to pass around contraband. I learned real fast that an offender is just that, an offender, they are not men, they are barely human, they are offenders, and they will kill you and rape your dead corpse after they finish with your children.
@Siconyte you know most of the inmates are not animals they are humans witth families not all of them are bad and your preconcieved notions of people makes me sick
I wish I could see it from your view, but when I was still OJT, I was working a seg unit, and I was pulling an offender out of his cell, and the fucker slashed my arm with a razor for no reason other than to cut someone, NOW YOU TELL ME THAT INMATES ARE GOOD PEOPLE YOU NO EXPIRIENCE MOTHERFUCKER, THEY WANT TO RAPE YOUR KIDS AND KILL YOU IN FRONT OF THEM. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, PUT ON A GREY UNIFORM AND SAY THAT SHIT!!!!!
@Siconyte well the reason i said anything cuz im a former inmate french robertson uni so i see where your coming if a bad inmate harmed you but dont take it out on everyone you were working in seg so you with the worst i know about prison and you have to get know the people not just count them and where does the rape and killing come from i mean really dude maybe you should visit the prison shrink but i have no ill will towards you just open your eyes im sure your a good person
EVEN If you arent a sex offendor (which Im sure you are), you STILL are a HPOCRITE. On here trying to preach about God but at the same time watching little girls doing nasty dances??! That's called LUSTING you perv!! At least change your profile favorites n not be so obvious before u try to come on here n preach about God. It's funny but sad at the same time you try to DOWN others behind Gods word but you're just as fu**ed in the head as them. You're a shame to real Christians n a m.f HYPOCRITE!
Real Christians you say??? Real Christians do not speak or judge the way you just did to this guy up here. WE ALL FALL SHORT of God's glory. Judge NOT lest ye be judged...
sorry but my son uses my profile also but now that you brought it to my attention they will come off and no sex crime here look me up is all you have to do.i always go straight to comments
@bigjohntos You pray for me?? Na if anything pray for yourself. You said you're an ex-offendor who found God. I might not be the smartest man in the world but by looking at your "favorites" (U OUGHTTA BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF) I'm pretty sure you went down (prison) for a sex crime. U haven't "found God". But you ARE the prime example of the people I speak of.... HYPOCRITES!! On here trying to preach about the Lord and still here lusting on young girls. You are a SHAME to those real Christians...
@bertsand thanks for bringing it to my attention but you will not put a jacket on me all sex offenders are registered and i am not ashamed of myself for anything i have done , you are no one that i need to appease and i will continue to pray for you, let he without sin cast the first stone
Sadly, I must agree with those cynical / skeptical posts that regard most of these conversions (or whatever being saved is called) as shallow commitments due only to the convert's current unfortunate circumstances. Having grown up in a southern Baptist environment, I can say my experience is that even outside of prison most people are Sunday Christians only-- backsliding 99% of the time...
@prahamaus may i ask who are you to judge christians? since you were brought up southern baptist i guess that means you are without sin. insteead of being such a skeptic dont you think it would be to our and your advantage if you would support and show us by example how christians behave and live or can it be that you are so righteous that no man can follow your footsteps. mentoring is a quality that can only be found in real god fearing christians for god says feed the people who are hungryamen
I'm not a Christen, I see both sides, I'm sure a large number of convects "get saved" out of fear, and others do it thinking the Parole Board will think they have changed.
As for the missionaries, I'm sure most feel they are doing "Gods" work. While others feel it's a way to get converts playing off there fears, and a need for fellowship.
If one person is able to live a more fulfilling life, perhaps it's worth it. I'm sure that is the exception, and not the rule.
no the truth is that every convict thats scared becomes a cristian i saw it myself and once i got out i saw a few of them back to worse they only do it because their scared¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
@s23ept scared!!!!! hahaha far from the truth alot of the convicts are only lost, i am 6'4" 280 pounds of muscle and i feared no man, for my violent behavior i spent four years in segregation. It took one man to see my leadership qualities, warden thomas. the day i got saved eight other hard core gang members got saved from different groups, one of them killed two convicts during the mid 1980's gang war.we are all still following the lord, two went to be with him. scared!!! i dont think so......
In prison all these people get "saved" and turn to Jesus for help. Yet once back on the street they're baack to their old ways. I seen it for 20 years and NOBODY can tell me different.... It's easy to be a Christian behind bars, and people who choose to preach to these people at their most vulnerable times are just as much guilty as them. If an offendor really wants to change his Life than go to church once released, not while in there. Dont lie to yourself... and thats the honest to GOD truth!!
people who preached to us vulnerable, let me tell you one thing bertsand, had it not been for these STRONG believing christians i would of contined to sell drugs upon my release, while on the inside i was combative very, i fought everyone, i also continued doing criminal things on the inside. i spent four years locked up in segregation. i committed one assault as the person walked witth the unit captain on the cottulla unit.but 3 days with kairos changed all that, since that day i have....cont
@bertsand ill tell you this, one day these offenders will be released into our communities to kill, rape, rob, sell drugs and survive by any means necessary. who are you to dictate when a individual goes to church or seeks change as i did, the only judge i look forward to seeing is my lord jesus christ because redemption is mine.just maybe you need to look at yourself and your selfishness towards your fellow man, jesus christ died for all of us not just for the righteous, i will be praying for you.
Check it out, I am an officer working inside the wire, we are trained to maintain a level of professional distance and look at them all as "offenders". That said, This program does a lot of good, and I think it may actually stop them from coming back.
i see that ignorance is rearing its ugly head all your negative comments towards prisoners.I am one of those that went through KAIROS and i was released from prison in 2003.i spent a total of 12 years for drugs and i used to fight all the time in there, i didnt give a crap who you were or what you were, i spent 4 years in lockup but thanks to the christians who came to preach to me and tell me it did not have to be that way. i own my own business and im free and free from my past. thank you
@thumbswicket thank you for your words of encouragement and i will say this the guards who workd security those three days never seen such a arrangement, we were all gang members, all from different groups. i had never felt remorse for the things i did but that day i was overcome with it, i was reborn and sure there are skeptics but my lord and savior is the only one i will answer to for none of us are without sin. thank you for your wordsof encouragement and may god bleess you and keep you safe
boy monkey thats a stupid comment not all people in jail are really bad. why execute a rapist or murderer its better to lock them up and throw awat the key. Or let people have vigilante justice on them
well, 1st of all there probley is those who might be..but everyone makes mistakes and i wouldnt say execute them all..i guess that is why you have evil in your name... i hope someone like you dont work in any prison!
my "criminal" is a good person. He doesn't belong in prison. And you want to execute him because he's in the system. You don't see an indivisual, you see a criminal. It's that kind of small minded thinking that hitler had. You are ignorant.
god bless the fellowship riders of lubbock i was not there for ur services but i did the kairos program and it was that program that gave me back my life but all it takes is for people to share what they know of the lord to save a human being.I did not get out early or receive anything for jesus finding me, i did my time and i did it hard till i realized thatpeople do care enough to take the time and share what got their life together. i love my fellow man, i have no regrets for i have jesus
so much negativity from something that can change a mans life, judgement is left only to the lord not i nor u.I for one was one of them prisoners and i thank the lord each and every day that their was someone like these human beings to share what they have found, yes i was a prisoner and i did not find jesus he found me.I have been out for four years and i am a commercial construction superintendent who is in charge of alot of money all this from a convicted drug dealer.thank you jesus
God bless you. My babe is in prison and there for being a convicted drug dealer as well. He's in the kairos project. It was good to hear your story and that these people touched you. Congradulations, I'm so happy for you.
not saying people do not change but the VERY FEW i know in prison read the bible for good deeds, to waste time, to see if they can get out sooner. more power to em if they change for the better. its mainly the ones outside the walls who need the saving.
I think it is amazing to see that even in these places that God works in amazing and very powerful ways. To say a tough man humble himself to the Lord in this enviorment is truly one of the greatest things. Amazing.
I'm a Christian, myself, but I don't go to church because I don't like to be preached at someone who says that they are a Holy Man. Even they fall from grace (extramarital affairs, go back to drinking/drugs, etc.). I've seen it happen. So, I pray to God in my own way and go about it my way.
i'm an agnostic and hold your concept in high regard, there is nothing wrong with being religous as long as no one tries to ram it down your throat like those door knockers
I prefer to keep my own free will rather than submit to some "parrot" who carries a bible and claims to be a holy man. I refuse to associate myself with that hypocritical, self rightous, self serving group of people who have nothing better to do but to enjoy the smell of their own farts and claim to be "Christian."
They remind me of that Dr. Seuss called "The Sneetches
Actually Christians would be a lot more tolerable if they acted more like Christ.

no the truth is that every convict thats scared becomes a cristian i saw it myself and once i got out i saw a few of them back to worse they only do it because their scared¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
s23ept 2 years ago

Dont lie to yourself... and thats the honest to GOD truth!!
bertsand 2 years ago
people who preached to us vulnerable, let me tell you one thing bertsand, had it not been for these STRONG believing christians i would of contined to sell drugs upon my release, while on the inside i was combative very, i fought everyone, i also continued doing criminal things on the inside. i spent four years locked up in segregation. i committed one assault as the person walked witth the unit captain on the cottulla unit.but 3 days with kairos changed all that, since that day i have....cont

@bigjohntos God bless you ..stay strong ..my two sons are in prison ...pray for them to be saved ..thanks
chasinherhorse 10 months ago

As a fellow officer I wholeheartedly agree.

i see that ignorance is rearing its ugly head all your negative comments towards prisoners.I am one of those that went through KAIROS and i was released from prison in 2003.i spent a total of 12 years for drugs and i used to fight all the time in there, i didnt give a crap who you were or what you were, i spent 4 years in lockup but thanks to the christians who came to preach to me and tell me it did not have to be that way. i own my own business and im free and free from my past.

Or let people have vigilante justice on them
mintscope 3 years ago 2
wow.. i wish u people would work 1week in any unit to see 1st hand how terrible cons really are.
execute them all, because they only come out better criminals and manipulators.
boymonkeyevil 3 years ago
well, 1st of all there probley is those who might be..but everyone makes mistakes and i wouldnt say execute them all..i guess that is why you have evil in your name... i hope someone like you dont work in any prison!
frausto30 3 years ago 2
my "criminal" is a good person. He doesn't belong in prison. And you want to execute him because he's in the system. You don't see an indivisual, you see a criminal. It's that kind of small minded thinking that hitler had. You are ignorant.

god bless the fellowship riders of lubbock i was not there for ur services but i did the kairos program and it was that program that gave me back my life but all it takes is for people to share what they know of the lord to save a human being.I did not get out early or receive anything for jesus finding me, i did my time and i did it hard till i realized thatpeople do care enough to take the time and share what got their life together. i love my fellow man, i have no regrets for i have jesus
bigjohntos 3 years ago 2
so much negativity from something that can change a mans life, judgement is left only to the lord not i nor u.I for one was one of them prisoners and i thank the lord each and every day that their was someone like these human beings to share what they have found, yes i was a prisoner and i did not find jesus he found me.I have been out for four years and i am a commercial construction superintendent who is in charge of alot of money all this from a convicted drug dealer.thank you jesus
bigjohntos 3 years ago 2
God bless you. My babe is in prison and there for being a convicted drug dealer as well. He's in the kairos project. It was good to hear your story and that these people touched you. Congradulations, I'm so happy for you.

In many cases the inmate will find jesus in prison and unfortunately leave him locked up when the inmate leaves.

not saying people do not change but the VERY FEW i know in prison read the bible for good deeds, to waste time, to see if they can get out sooner. more power to em if they change for the better. its mainly the ones outside the walls who need the saving.

So, I pray to God in my own way and go about it my way.

i am no christain. however it's good to hear that from someone who does believe in jesus.

i'm an agnostic and hold your concept in high regard, there is nothing wrong with being religous as long as no one tries to ram it down your throat like those door knockers
IvanAstronaut 3 years ago 2
I prefer to keep my own free will rather than submit to some "parrot" who carries a bible and claims to be a holy man. I refuse to associate myself with that hypocritical, self rightous, self serving group of people who have nothing better to do but to enjoy the smell of their own farts and claim to be "Christian."
They remind me of that Dr. Seuss called "The Sneetches
Actually Christians would be a lot more tolerable if they acted more like Christ.
