@jhweh2007 The entire chapter of Romans 9 has nothing to do with individual,personal free will.If it did,it would contradict many other verses of Scripture which clearly state that we do have free will. Rom.9 has to do with God opening salvation to Gentiles,as well as Jews.It is very important to read Scripture in context,and not try to extract one verse,and interpret it's meaning according to your own preconceived ideas.This is what cults do.Scripture must be interpreted in light of Scripture

lol the preacher preaches perfection and ability to obey the law perfectly. heresy from deepest levels of hell. the law and its requirements do not prove that it is possible to obey them perfectly, but that it is impossible to keep them. the law shows that we are sinners, not that we might be sinners. free will as defined by an arminianism(libertarian free will) is illogical and also unbiblical. read on compatibilism view of free will, and u will get closer to the truth.

The question is not IF we should strive, but HOW. Romans 7 was quoted by a bystander - and Romans 7 and 8 make it clear that we are not striving in ourselves (that is OF ourselves) but rather we are striving IN Christ. To strive in our own strength is to be under the Law - which Paul says brings death. The righteousness of the Law is revealed in those who are in Christ and who persevere therein (that is in Christ BY His Spirit).

We may but I would highly doubt that there will be sex in heaven. The reason God ordained marriage was so that the human race can lawfully reproduce. There will be no giving birth in heaven (as far as I know). Again, the Bible says there will be no marriage in heaven so I can't think of an instance where sex would be allowed or would be needed.

That is pretty good evidence, but even the angels had sex with humans (Gen 6:2). This implies we will still have the functioning equipment, whether we be allowed to use it or not. Another thing to note is that marriage is a God ordained arbitrary institution (after all he did not have to make the genders) so we are unaware what a heavenly dispensation for sexual relations will be like.

If I were a betting man (I am) I would give "no sex in heaven" about a 80% chance and wouldn't preach it.

Nope, there is no sex in Heaven ... and the fact is, that angels cannot have sex, since they are NOT physical beings; the are SPIRITS. And in the light of Jewish tradition (myth), Gen 6:2 actually talks about demons (check "Grigori / watchers" from WIki) ... and only way a demon can have sex, is simply to posses a wicked human.

... there are no physical beings in eternity & Heaven, ergo there cannot be sex etc. in afterlife.

If you want to kill gnosticism on campus, play up its inherently anti-semitic character. The documentary 'the occult history of the third reich' is without equal showing that its antisemitism depended on Madame Blavatsky's gnostic revival, including the introduction of the swastika.

Remember, form criticism also came from pan-german movement which was also extremely anti-semitic. The scholars can't attack the NT until they use antisemitic scholars's positions to undermine the OT.
