It's contradicting because, if you were a real Muslim instead of just a trollish hater, you'd have spoken in a way that reflects what Islam is supposed to be - a religion of peace.
You're supposed to talk to those you disagree with differently with civility, politeness, and in ways the foster respect and peace. And, yes, you talk in ways whic allow you to learn from those that are different instead of looking at them with condescension.
Okay, you're clearly a being a hating hypocrite and a troll. So I guess our conversation is done here. Hard to chat when you threaten me with hell fire.
But, here's the deal. If there's an afterlife - whether that afterlife is run in the name of Jesus, Allah, Yahweh, or Elohim - you'll be feeling foolish you left these comments. I promise you that. I guess this is bye until then.
you are dead wrong with your man made religion every year u update what is permissible and what is not. Recently u made homosexualtiy as permissible although it wasnt before.
Christians do nothing but throw their book behind their backs and follow their evil desires.
Its not assumptions its facts about your religion. I didnt say i am a Prophet, but certainly i am a follower of a Prophet!
You dont even know your own bible, nowhere in bible does it say 'trinity' or anything pointing to that direction. Why you a christian? Your forefathers were thats why? You need to wake up to reality dude.
Forget whether or not I know the Bible. You don't know the Qu'ran.
What to be a true Muslim? Get off your ass, stop hating on Christians, stop criticizing them - and go help those less off than yourself.
The God of the Qu'ran says Muslims are supposed to seek peaceful coexistence. The God of the Qu'ran says Muslims should respect others on this planet of all races and religions and learn from eachother.
As the Qu'ran says, God hates hypocrites. So don't be one.
You say your not hating on Christians and, in the same comment, say "evil religion" and "get a life".
Because, as your comments show, you clearly know less about Islam than humble me. Let me point out your attitude, tone, and content of your comments are in contradiction of al-i-Imran;3:64 and al-Nahl; 16,125.
I have a zero tolerance policy on haters and hypocrites. Keep this line of commenting up and I'll block you for a double count of hating and hypocrisy.
There is more than 1% Christians in this (mostly) tolerant and (mostly) peaceful nation. But you know what? 1% of people like you, with intolerant beliefs like yours is too much.
I don't know what religion you are, but with that level of intolerance - no matter what religion you claim to believe in, you're a hypocrite.

Hi, I'd really like to do a project about your project for college. The course I'm taking is "Visual Culture" and I'd love to set up an installation piece to see how people respond to the typical, commercial charity advertisments and compare it to how they might respond to ACTUAL proper information and insight (what you're doing). Would you mind if I did that? What you're doing has really touched me and I want to spread it. I live in Ireland. (Hi! :)

hahhaha yeah shahida is a common name in bangladesh so do u like bangladesh? i live in usa right now but i'll do anything to go back i just went like a year ago. bangladesh is my life.
true true, Bangladesh contains more muslim population than all the middle eastern countries combined. in fact 1/10th of the muslim population are Bengali muslims, in simple terms 11% of the global Muslim population are Bengali. Bangladesh is not anti American because Bangladesh is democratic country, the country is trying its best to remove corruption and bring peace. but still Bangladeshis oppose the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I wish I was in uncultured's shoes because he is doing something that has significant meaning. I think all of us at some point want our life to mean something to someone or something much greater than ourselves.
Great! Thank you for what are you doing trying to alleviate poverty. I wish you all the success in life. And hope some day this world and Bangladesh will recognize you for your effort.
@straighterthanurmama - out of curiosity, are you religious? Because I'd like to know which religion allows you to make such generalizing and discriminating comments.
@talitha00cumi, my video style is "vlogging" or video blogging. In this video I was talking mostly about what was going on in my life as an update for people to know what I was going on in my life.
If I was trying to make a bland documentary (which I'm not) than I wouldn't be doing personal things like this. Lots of people vlog on YouTube. Just because I have a project doesn't mean I can't do a bit of vlogging too.
Currently coutries such as the USA, Canada, Uk simply plunder Bangladesh's precious resources throughly poorly orhestrated operations in anything from textile manufacture to mineral/gas exploration, creating hellish poorly paid factory conditions, environmental devastation, depletion of natural resources, and simultaneously feeding the culture of corruption and providing no inward investment/development.
Further more it harms the economy of these countries an very rarely gets distributed properly in a nations such as Bangladesh which are know for having the most corruption in the world (Both the prime minister and her opposition leader are awaiting sentencing for this)
Nations like the USA could do so much so easily to help build a strong civil and economic structure in these troubled countries by simply employing better ettiquette in international trade.
dudes im from BD 2...but to stick 2 the fact...i dont miss dat country...dat place piss me off so much dat i will never go back there..i support USA.. n i will be happy 2 die for USA..not BD. btw im from dhaka
The thing I like about what I am doing now is that I don't have to convince others of what I am doing is right. I currently don't have any political ambitions.
In politics, there are too many people who claim they care about these important issues - but once they get into office they ignore them. Is it that we're voting for the wrong people? Or is it that something about politics that does this to people? I'm not sure about that yet.
thanks for replying and let me tell you that i admire what you are doing.
not all politians are necessarily bad i blv, it is just they tend to retain their power cuz that provides the opportunity to do both good and evil.either way the impact in enormous. thanks again.
Shawn forgot to say, great insight into development issues in Bangladesh,Save the Children video great & recycling of bottles etc, pls do continue 2 focus on +ve role of NGOs in Bangladeshi development. Would be great for you to be da young champion of development issues in Bangladesh. Above all I think we all like ur positive vibe. PS Send your videos to CBS, CNN and BBC they'll love it. I can see it now - Shawn - South Asia Correspondent for the BBC in Downtown Dhaka. No joke. Ciao.
It's sometimes hard to be positive when there is such a large loss of life. That's kind of the reason I've had a hard time putting all my footage of cyclone sidr onto YouTube. I want to it be meaningful - but not gruesome.
Your reports are superb, keep up the good work and Happy New Year, thanks for providing great insight into the Cyclone Appeal, three cheers!! Thanks also for providing insight into this moderate Muslim country at peace with all its rich multi-religious traditions, all united under the banner of a secular Bangladesh, a true example of the moderation of Islam at peace with its faith minorities and very proud to be Bengali.
For one Do you have a cause on facebook? It could offer so many benefits, and could help spread the project. and when does your Visa expire? How much longer can we expect these videos?
I think its great thing what your doing and your at least trying to break down the imaginary world the west has constructed of the developing world.
I have a facebook group (uncultured project), but not a facebook cause. I just support causes like 'make poverty history', 'save the children', and 'the ONE campaign'. Never thought to make a separate cause because these causes pretty much cover it.
My visa expires when my passport does -- so I can stay here for a while. But since I am taking time off school and work to do this -- I will have to go back in 2008. Just not sure which month.
You can expect more videos in the next few months. I have tons of footage I haven't been able to edit and upload yet. I'm just not sure how much of that will be uploaded while I'm still here and how much of it will be uploaded when I get back home.
Wait a minute Dave... what are you doing watching my videos? Why aren't you writing the next episode of Iago + Dimitri? I want to know what happens to Keith! Get back to work! ;-)
I definitely want to share footage of the aid work I'm doing. I have some up already. If you check the channel there is a playlist called "Trying to Help Hands On" which has all my videos where I give stuff out.
But I'm not just here to do independent aid work. I am hoping to educate and inspire others to start believing that poverty can be ended in our lifetime. I know that sounds optimistic - but that's what Harvard (now teaching at Columbia) economist Jeffrey Sachs believes. He even wrote a book called "The End of Poverty". It was one of his speeches and meeting him in person that inspired this whole project.
You know, your video's are the ones I get most excited about when a new one pops up in my 'Subscribed' bar, so I'm a bit sad to hear your finishing up in Bangladesh. I hope you keep vlogging when you get back; I'm guessing you're going to carry on with your masters? Have fun, and don't be a stranger.
Hey :-) In hindsight, I edited this video so heavily, I cut out my longer explanation.
I was SUPPOSED to be back by now. But I really want to stay and try and continue to make a difference. So, for now, I'm still here with no planned departure date. I have to go back eventually though :-)
When I do - I'd very much want to finish my Masters. I've found you really need that to get a job in the development/aid field.
you should be featured on the main page of youtube
if youtube was smart enought to mae you a parter you'd have a few more dollars to help people out there and maybe you can facebook with a purpose aswell!

This is great. I have some questions though.
For one Do you have a cause on facebook? It could offer so many benefits, and could help spread the project. and when does your Visa expire? How much longer can we expect these videos?
I think its great thing what your doing and your at least trying to break down the imaginary world the west has constructed of the developing world.
LtotheP0859 4 years ago
I have a facebook group (uncultured project), but not a facebook cause. I just support causes like 'make poverty history', 'save the children', and 'the ONE campaign'. Never thought to make a separate cause because these causes pretty much cover it.
My visa expires when my passport does -- so I can stay here for a while. But since I am taking time off school and work to do this -- I will have to go back in 2008. Just not sure which month.
UnculturedProject 4 years ago
You can expect more videos in the next few months. I have tons of footage I haven't been able to edit and upload yet. I'm just not sure how much of that will be uploaded while I'm still here and how much of it will be uploaded when I get back home.

its beautiful there.
thanks for the touch of hope that we aren't hated everywhere.
so what exactly are you doing there? have you considered including some video of the aid you're preforming?
keep the updates coming, and thanks for all you're doing
ericpid 4 years ago 2
I definitely want to share footage of the aid work I'm doing. I have some up already. If you check the channel there is a playlist called "Trying to Help Hands On" which has all my videos where I give stuff out.
UnculturedProject 4 years ago

UnculturedProject 4 years ago
Excellent news! Very much looking forward to the next chapter in that case.
