Hi, My name is Pete. I am a Vet. I live and work (volunteer) at U.S. Vets initiative her e at March ARB. We are a non profit organization, helping troubled Vets reintegrate back into society as productive and self supporting people. I am very interested in building many of these panels to cut our cost and if, sell some electricity back to Edison, God knows we can use some extra dollars to better our program. I would like to know who your supplier and his cost is. send info to 1spdpd@gmail.com

hey pete, imagine attaching a solar panel to a laptop lid ?to charge batterys or subsidise them? it would increase battery life while mobile greatly ,lid can be aimed at sunlight to get max power?like a tracker ?the lid on a laptop is one huge waste of space ?be worth while buying flexi or self adhesive panel even ?we all know laptop batterys SUCK lol, thanx jimmy
Great Job! If your willing to give away two of them I would attach them to our backpacks when we go hiking around on NM mountains, trails, and ghost towns. Would be nice to have the power for keeping all the electronics up and going all day. GPS, Cells phones, small radio stuff like that.
Again great idea. I will have to look for some old LCD panels to do that also.
the actual glass is what has the gel composite material on it if you touch it be sure to wash your hands really well before you touch your face or eat anything. usually 7 layers to an lcd you can use some of those layers of film as light diffusion acreens for in front of studio lights did you ever see those 10ft solar shingles i was talking about ? still considering redoing the roof of my house with those to take a little out of the power bill each month here.
If the pos charge is on the back & neg on front of Cell shouldn't you solder one tab to the back & one tab to the front.?

I had not thought of building a solar panel before, but sound like a good idea for some projects.

i thought a broken one would still be the same volts but drop in amp's?
wouldent then your pannel be aprox 14v
davidrrrd 1 year ago
@davidrrrd Your right, the amps drop but the volts are the same.. each are .5 volt and there is 10 so its 5V
I tested it today and it showed 5.6v on the meter; I was thrilled.
All the best.
