Aside from Creedence Clearwater & the Guess Who, Three Dog Night was my FAV band when I was in High School. Saw them a few years ago at Hot August Nights in Reno. Even though they are now, technically "Two Dog Night" they still ROCKED! Thanx for posting
Oh, hell yeah! I just noticed this song, all I want is to enclose me in my room and listen to this over and over again, and I feel like I'm never gonna grow tired of it :D
Yeah, I know that, I might just be 20, but I've always loved the mid 60's to mid 70's that's the years of the best music that have ever been created :P
If you have told one lie, that makes you a liar. If you have stolen one thing, that makes you a thief. JESUS said; if you look at a person with lust, you commit adultery in your heart! Ever used GOD's name in vain; then you are a blasphemer and can't enter heaven! Revelation 21v8 says; "All liars will have their part in the lake of fire!" The bible says; No thief or adulterer will inherit GOD's kingdom! You broke GOD's laws; but JESUS paid your fine! Repent, and trust the Savior!
man i had 3rd row seats for this. i was stoned on something, don't remember what, but man, i remember this song and the acustics at that collisium, ... unbelievable!
I was always told you can tell when a guy is lying to you..... watch his lips...if the lips move, he's lying but I guess that could work for anyone ha
This band was the best,& sadly under rated. They took simple songs & made them art.The 4 piece rhythm section along w' Coreys' perfect trio is timeless.I love these guys!
finally saw 3 dog night a few yeaars ago and they played this song...awesome concert but you cannot help but miss chuck in the group.
this song reminds me of something that happened years and years ago when my best friend, me and her boyfriend went to pizza hut, and we were all sitting at the table when her boyfriend went up to the jukebox, quarter in, he came back to the table and said to her.this song is for you..and liar came on..apparently she was a bad girl and had been caught cheating!
I saw this performed at the Sonoma County Fair when they did a 2 hour set for us. Really great. There was a lot of talk about Chuck Negron so they spent a bit of time explaining.
He was strung out and wouldn't stay off. Kept breaking promises so they finally had to walk away. Maybe someday, who knows. Meanwhile Danny Hutton is doing his best and pretty fair at it.
ONe of their best songs...and I understand that to get that unique tone of Danny's vocal in this, they elected to record the singing in a bathroom/restroom...either public, or school or something. Don't know all details, but it was cool, and it made it sound special.
This song is from 1971. The back up band was formerly the Detroit Wheels with Mitch Ryder. Jimmy Greenspoon on Hammond B3 with a 910 Leslie speaker system. These guys were awesome.
I heard this song many years ago on WDRC FM on the Dick Robinson show.
The song sounded very much like this performance.
The music was so etherial, the music went right through you but the song that was released in those days on LP was not as good as the song that I heard that one time.
You would think that these three guys would bury the hatchet for the sake of one monster tour. They would make a ton of money, and give the fans what they want: THREE DOG NIGHT, not Two Dog Night or One Dog Night.
@Watchinthefoolshere I agree with you 100%...All three had very distinctive voices, for each lead that they sang, like Danny Hutton doing "Liar" and Chuck doing "Easy to be Hard"....Floyd was a friend of mine and a great guy. I was a drummer myself at the same time they were peaking.
@MrKite053 Lucky you!!! I loved those guys. My friends and I used to see them everytime they came close to our town. Always a great show. Floyd was my favorite. That was one big man! I hated when they all started to leave the group. Just was never the same after that. They were back in the day when "live" was just that and they sounded exactly like their recordings. Lots of problems that came with fame. :-(
Oh,yea, I also took alota pictures,my kids took some of me and floyd, I can't wait till he comes again. He was very nice, and I talked to him for along time, asked alota ?.
A week ago , I seen with my children ,the drummer Floyd Sween in my home town.
I had so much fun,I went up stage ,talked to him, sang ,there songs,Found out that chong was his x- bro in law, and of course is niece is Rea don chong , He is will coming back this summer, Very nice guy. Oh, and I do love this song alota, And I am not a liar. Smile & Peace

@kodachromefilm2 You're allowed, I'm losing my composure right now too. ;) Liar Liar Liar. That was good for me. Awwwww. I guarantee it will happen again with me. I hate liars and I'm pissed and I will lose my composure until I heal from the lying cheating jerks I have to deal with on a daily basis. F em all. Especially my ex. Can you trip over that lying tongue anymore buddy guy??? I'm gonna take up lying too, see how they like it. And I'll get pissed when they don't believe my lies.
solly7, i was kinda far back in the crowd but up against a fence so I was able to see the stage, and the screens. .
I was prepared to realize they weren't going to sing like in '72, and what a blast it was! Cory's voice has enriched being stronger and full of power! I LOVE it! my only dissapointment was they didn't sing Eli's Coming which is my fav. with Liar. . LIAR was great. .
Even though I spelled Stupid wrong. haha. I LOVE YOU, miss you, want you back. But do you feel the same about me? I NEED TO KNOW! HIM OR ME?? really easy to say i want you but what if we were next to eachother than what would you say?
Tessa, you have to be lying to me! Everyone calls you two a couple, so there is no other explanation than you 2 are DATING!! Why couldn't you just tell me you make me find out the hard way! You KISS HIM YOU LOVE HIM! Almost everyone I talked to thinks you two are dating just look at the pic of him kissing you. you may have fooled me once but i'm not stuid!
vendentta 119, Chuck Negron is the guy in the red pants and huge mustache in the video-- one of the trio Three Dog Night-- one of the lead singers of this very talented group. You asked who is Chuck, and I thought I'd politely answer your question.
Around 1980 I had a VW with two big speakers strapped into the seatbelts in the back and had this cranked up as I pulled up next to a little old lady, just as it came to the part where they chant "LIAR!!" Gave her a bit of a start,
Chucks been off the sauce and drugs for over a decade now. I saw him live this year and he sounded as good as ever. Very good showman also. What's funny is that Danny and Cory were in town at the same time for the Calif State Fair.
I got to see Three Dog Night perform at the West L.A. VA for military veterans in 2000 and although it isn't the same without Chuck, they still put on a great show for us! Thanks guys!
@tbdldam93 I agree, but I don't think that's going to happen. I read where they decided to go their separate ways (years ago) and it was an amicable departure.
One of the many Classic master hits "Liar" THREE DOG NIGHT - I love the deep hurt "serious" look on Vocalist Danny Hutton on face. The legendary Three Dog Night are one of the most highly esteemed vocalized band: I love strong passionate vocals of Chuck, Cory & Danny and the clever music groove from Jimmy, Micheal, Floyd & Joe. Love you legendary 3 Dog Night! Peace.
saw them do this live in Indy. He wore a white fringed shirt that night. one spot on him and they claimed it was the very first time they perfromed it in concert. saw em 5 times in concert. loved it every time. one time they had the buddy miles express as a warm up act. that kicked butttttt
Seen them in Fort Smith Arkansas. Great music, great band. Still got it after all these years, smile Just wish they would have played my favorite song by them and I kept waving to them also. Pieces of April. They never did play that one. Well. Anyway enjoyed them all the same. smile
Absolutely the best song from 1970,my husband was cheating on me while I was pregnant!I'll never forget this song on the radio when I caught them together!Wow I still feel it in my stomach, but now I love this song and I'm in a much better place in my life than back then! Thanks for posting! At least I got the best son in the world out of the marriage!LOL
One of my favorite songs!! I remember requesting this song on our local radio station back in 1970 and dedicated it to my boyfriend that just cheated on me...his loss. He snoozed, he loozed lolol Love the Dogs. Saw them last year. Voices are still great.
Danny is so awesome on this song. They all have great voices. This song brings back a lot of memories, always thought Three Dog Night was one of the best bands to come out of the 60's and 70's. Would love to see them again.
Liar Came Out In November 1970. Seen Three Dog Night At The Hatch Shell In Boston,Mass.2000 They Peformed An Awsesome Show,I Had Forgot How Many Great Songs They Have!
Thanks for posting this, Three Dog Night was one of my favorite groups. Loved Cory Wells the most. Glad I got to see them a couple of times back when we were all young.
Saw these guys in the 70s in SLC. We had "partially obscured" seats (behind the speakers). The guys would take turns coming to the sides to sing to us. We ended up with probably the best seats in the place. Man, can they sing! Good music, then and now.
One of my favorite TDN songs tied along with One and Eli's Coming. The first time I heard this song it just grabbed me before I was aware that it was TDN.
Most underrated band when it comes to people reminiscing and rating bands. They were magical.

Love you legendary 3 Dog Night! Peace.

Seen them in Fort Smith Arkansas. Great music, great band. Still got it after all these years, smile Just wish they would have played my favorite song by them and I kept waving to them also. Pieces of April. They never did play that one. Well. Anyway enjoyed them all the same. smile

John Kerry??? There was never anybody named John Kerry singing for three dog night!
tonysciabo 3 years ago
S/he's joking. They're saying that Danny resembles politician John Kerry (which I don't think is true -- Danny is much better-looking!).

This is so much better sung by Three Dog Night. Thank you for sharing!
