  • Most underrated band when it comes to people reminiscing and rating bands. They were magical.

  • Aside from Creedence Clearwater & the Guess Who, Three Dog Night was my FAV band when I was in High School. Saw them a few years ago at Hot August Nights in Reno. Even though they are now, technically "Two Dog Night" they still ROCKED! Thanx for posting

  • Cool.

  • this is my response - wow. Argent's keyboardist wrote this ...

  • What year was this TV show aired?

  • Oh, hell yeah! I just noticed this song, all I want is to enclose me in my room and listen to this over and over again, and I feel like I'm never gonna grow tired of it :D

  • @Bernler75 Right on!! I grew up with this song! Most of the music of the late 60's and early 70's was AWESOME!! Check it out!! :)

  • @ladyfuschia

Yeah, I know that, I might just be 20, but I've always loved the mid 60's to mid 70's that's the years of the best music that have ever been created :P

  • @Bernler75 I totally agree with you on that one!! Happy listening!!

  • Great memories. thanks.

  • 1971 I was 15 living at Carolina Beach, N.C. on the boardwalk. Best summer of my life.

  • Good day

Hmmm when you hear this song, sometimes UNfulfilled politicians promises come to mind eh :P

    Or ex girlfriends X(

  • If you have told one lie, that makes you a liar. If you have stolen one thing, that makes you a thief. JESUS said; if you look at a person with lust, you commit adultery in your heart! Ever used GOD's name in vain; then you are a blasphemer and can't enter heaven! Revelation 21v8 says; "All liars will have their part in the lake of fire!" The bible says; No thief or adulterer will inherit GOD's kingdom! You broke GOD's laws; but JESUS paid your fine! Repent, and trust the Savior!

  • Great accustics!

  • I won't LIE.

I really dig this tune -- it's at where it's at. Totally in the groove, man.

  • LIVE IS AMAZING IT CAPTURES A PIECE OF TIME AN SHARES IT YEARS LATER

22 an remember ing the REAL music of the world! <3

  • ANY GUY WHO BEEN SCERWED OVER BY A WOMEN KNOWS WHAT THIS SONG IS SAYING........I KNOW!

  • written by the keyboardist in band, Argent ...

  • @kwgthacher Argent from Zombies is keyboardist here?

  • man i had 3rd row seats for this. i was stoned on something, don't remember what, but man, i remember this song and the acustics at that collisium, ... unbelievable!

  • I was always told you can tell when a guy is lying to you..... watch his lips...if the lips move, he's lying but I guess that could work for anyone ha

  • ahhh ... i miss being married :(

    lol

  • Just saw Three Dog Night in Manson, Wa., saturday night!!

It was a great show! America opened the show!! What a

    night of great music!!

  • @ihtilusbijclug cool

  • Christ! It's Tony Pym on keyboards!!!! - You have to be around 55 and from Exeter (Devon, England) to understand this comment.

  • My favorite 3 Dog Night Song! I used to play this 45 constantly.

  • They are awesome but Argent wrote this number

  • @kurtisthall65 - Yeah ... I never knew that ... but I can hear Argent groove in that f'sure.

  • This song is made for all of us liars in the world!

    Liar ! Liar ! Liar !

  • To all the LIARS in the world!!! Listen up~~~~

  • Listen to rhythm section. Only four pieces but big as anything!

  • nice song

  • 7 people can not hear clearly !

  • This may be my most favorite song ever ! Thanks so much for posting it luckysmusic ♥ msstevie ♥

  • my last boyfriend was a big liar liar

  • Kiss should cover this with Gene singing!

  • This band was the best,& sadly under rated. They took simple songs & made them art.The 4 piece rhythm section along w' Coreys' perfect trio is timeless.I love these guys!

  • finally saw 3 dog night a few yeaars ago and they played this song...awesome concert but you cannot help but miss chuck in the group.

this song reminds me of something that happened years and years ago when my best friend, me and her boyfriend went to pizza hut, and we were all sitting at the table when her boyfriend went up to the jukebox, quarter in, he came back to the table and said to her.this song is for you..and liar came on..apparently she was a bad girl and had been caught cheating!

  • Excellent video, thanks for posting. Lots of fond memories. Three Dog Night needs all three to be complete. Like the sythesizer and lead guitar too.

  • wow you got something there or the reverse ?

  • Danny Hutton looking like the Hoff.

  • THIS IS FOR GENE!!!!

  • Danny Hutton is awesome on this song! What a great video, thanks for the post!!!!

  • ม่วนทุกเพลง

    ขอบคุณหลายๆเด้อ

  • Danny's true singing ability really comes thru on this song!

  • Where are the lyrics????

  • This was a great cover of the Argent song. Listen to the original, too.

  • @PRINCIPALBROKER Agreed - it's a killer song, and a great version here, too.

    Argent deserves more attention...

  • They are going to be @ Choctaw Casino in Durant, Okla. on 9/4~~everyone should come for somme fun with great music !! AeroforceRN

  • chuck-e's in love...

  • Keyboards sound awesome.

  • AWESOME! One of their best songs.

  • super song!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Their best song

  • I like Argent's version, however I think Three Dog Night did it best.....

  • I saw this performed at the Sonoma County Fair when they did a 2 hour set for us. Really great. There was a lot of talk about Chuck Negron so they spent a bit of time explaining.

He was strung out and wouldn't stay off. Kept breaking promises so they finally had to walk away. Maybe someday, who knows. Meanwhile Danny Hutton is doing his best and pretty fair at it.

  • Love this song! Wish I could see them live!

  • ONe of their best songs...and I understand that to get that unique tone of Danny's vocal in this, they elected to record the singing in a bathroom/restroom...either public, or school or something. Don't know all details, but it was cool, and it made it sound special.

  • this was originally done by Argent,so this is a cover-and a good one.

  • @tomloft2000 I love this version the best, but Argent did a great version.

  • @tomloft2000 Three dog night and this song in particular far pre-dated Argent.

  • Cool~~.

    luv it!

  • This song is from 1971. The back up band was formerly the Detroit Wheels with Mitch Ryder. Jimmy Greenspoon on Hammond B3 with a 910 Leslie speaker system. These guys were awesome.

  • When the black drummer is not in the group,is not same feel and drive. Sounds great with him in the group..

  • sometime in the lower 80s ???.....that song is from the early 70s

  • I love this song, but I didn't know who sang it , thanks for posting it.

  • I heard this song many years ago on WDRC FM on the Dick Robinson show.

The song sounded very much like this performance.

The music was so etherial, the music went right through you but the song that was released in those days on LP was not as good as the song that I heard that one time.

    Tonyvet50

  • Wow, WJAR is the NBC affliliate in Providence RI! Was this an episode of Solid Gold?

  • You would think that these three guys would bury the hatchet for the sake of one monster tour. They would make a ton of money, and give the fans what they want: THREE DOG NIGHT, not Two Dog Night or One Dog Night.

  • the national anthem to those former flames and shitty family members...this song is the story of my life

  • Great song....

    nice post thank you

  • Awh...Danny looks so good here....back in the good days when Chuck and Floyd were with them....

  • @Watchinthefoolshere I agree with you 100%...All three had very distinctive voices, for each lead that they sang, like Danny Hutton doing "Liar" and Chuck doing "Easy to be Hard"....Floyd was a friend of mine and a great guy. I was a drummer myself at the same time they were peaking.

  • @MrKite053 Lucky you!!! I loved those guys. My friends and I used to see them everytime they came close to our town. Always a great show. Floyd was my favorite. That was one big man! I hated when they all started to leave the group. Just was never the same after that. They were back in the day when "live" was just that and they sounded exactly like their recordings. Lots of problems that came with fame. :-(

  • I Wish I Knew my Ex Girlfriends "E" mail address! Or My Ex ol' best friendsof 45 years! since they both live together now! LIARS BOTH OF THEM!!!!!!!!

  • Oh,yea, I also took alota pictures,my kids took some of me and floyd, I can't wait till he comes again. He was very nice, and I talked to him for along time, asked alota ?.

    Smile & Peace

  • A week ago , I seen with my children ,the drummer Floyd Sween in my home town.

I had so much fun,I went up stage ,talked to him, sang ,there songs,Found out that chong was his x- bro in law, and of course is niece is Rea don chong , He is will coming back this summer, Very nice guy. Oh, and I do love this song alota, And I am not a liar. Smile & Peace

  • was playing this, bought the new cd. .went to see them this past year ..and TODAY, It is a SONG for me! Two weeks ago I got blindsided .. and here it is. . exactly! the exact situation. .LIAR! LIAR! LIAR!

  • They were such an awesome band....if you ever get to hear Chest Fever.... do!

  • LIAR! LIAR! LIAR! ha ha ha LIAR! LIAR! LIAR! (Sorry. I lost my composure for a minute. It'll never happen again).

  • @kodachromefilm2 no thats alright, just let it go.....

  • @kodachromefilm2 You're allowed, I'm losing my composure right now too. ;) Liar Liar Liar. That was good for me. Awwwww. I guarantee it will happen again with me. I hate liars and I'm pissed and I will lose my composure until I heal from the lying cheating jerks I have to deal with on a daily basis. F em all. Especially my ex. Can you trip over that lying tongue anymore buddy guy??? I'm gonna take up lying too, see how they like it. And I'll get pissed when they don't believe my lies.

  • Great song its great when you can finaly laugh your mistakes .

  • What other songs does Danny sing lead??? Is this the only one??

  • Danny also takes the lead on "Black and White."

  • Great song!...when i was a kid i thought the guy who was singing was Roger Taylor (queen drummer)...things of pre teenage jaja

  • A wonderful time when real bands sang and played real music. No stupid AutoTune.

  • WHATTA SONG!!! WHATTA BAND!!!

  • A very true story about a real evil person.

  • @Warrensdeciple Don't do this to yourself!

  • great band, mix great vocals with great musicians and this is what you get

  • I love this song!

  • good song

  • Love the band. This is a smokin version of Liar, saw them in 1970 Loved 'em then, love 'em now even more. With age comes confidence.....

  • I really like this song!!! I also heard the version by Argent. I must admit that I like that one too. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • Bridgeat, not funny and not the place. .

solly7, i was kinda far back in the crowd but up against a fence so I was able to see the stage, and the screens. .

I was prepared to realize they weren't going to sing like in '72, and what a blast it was! Cory's voice has enriched being stronger and full of power! I LOVE it! my only dissapointment was they didn't sing Eli's Coming which is my fav. with Liar. . LIAR was great. .

    Solly7

    (check out my videos btw)

  • Even though I spelled Stupid wrong. haha. I LOVE YOU, miss you, want you back. But do you feel the same about me? I NEED TO KNOW! HIM OR ME?? really easy to say i want you but what if we were next to eachother than what would you say?

  • Tessa, you have to be lying to me! Everyone calls you two a couple, so there is no other explanation than you 2 are DATING!! Why couldn't you just tell me you make me find out the hard way! You KISS HIM YOU LOVE HIM! Almost everyone I talked to thinks you two are dating just look at the pic of him kissing you. you may have fooled me once but i'm not stuid!

  • i KEEP coming back to this. I'm excited! I'm going to see them this FRIDAY!!

    LIAR! LIAR! can't wait!

  • So! How was it?.

  • Hell of a song!

  • This is exactly how I feel right now, I want to be with you as long as you want me to

But don't pull away Ain't that what you said? Ain't that what you said? Liar, Liar, Liar, Liar!!

Gosh this song pumps me up in a way. I love three dog night.

  • Three Dog Puppy!!! :0)

  • I remember having this on 45 with Never Been to Spain on the B side.

  • Love Cory's gangster look ... lol.

  • One of the most versatile vocal bands of the 70's with three guys all capable lead singers.

Great days, and nights with TDN always coming around with a new single.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • vendentta 119, Chuck Negron is the guy in the red pants and huge mustache in the video-- one of the trio Three Dog Night-- one of the lead singers of this very talented group. You asked who is Chuck, and I thought I'd politely answer your question.

  • Excellent. Love Danny's vocal on this one.

  • Around 1980 I had a VW with two big speakers strapped into the seatbelts in the back and had this cranked up as I pulled up next to a little old lady, just as it came to the part where they chant "LIAR!!" Gave her a bit of a start,

  • wait whos chuck i love three dog night but whos chuck and why did they break up? it ´s why they broke up....but who is he

  • Chuck Negron. I only know part of his story, and part of it was that he got hooked on heroine during this time.

  • @Farrah300

Chucks been off the sauce and drugs for over a decade now. I saw him live this year and he sounded as good as ever. Very good showman also. What's funny is that Danny and Cory were in town at the same time for the Calif State Fair.

  • I agree. They should chage the name to Two Dog Night. Time to bury the hatchet and get back together.

  • they will never be complete without Chuck in that group......piece of the puzzle missing.

  • Why don't they like each other does anybody know why danny and cory dislike chuck?

  • Get Chucks book, Three Dog Nightmare, you will see.

  • I got to see Three Dog Night perform at the West L.A. VA for military veterans in 2000 and although it isn't the same without Chuck, they still put on a great show for us! Thanks guys!

  • @tbdldam93 I agree, but I don't think that's going to happen. I read where they decided to go their separate ways (years ago) and it was an amicable departure.

  • @tbdldam93 and Floyd,&RIP Joe.

  • I cannot wait to see Three Dog Night in June in Chattanogga Tennessee!

  • don't get too excited -no Chuck, no three dog night

  • Great!

  • exciting vocals, great musicians, tsk, tsk, tsk, drugs, drugs, drugs.sad, sad, sad! chuck was the worst and admits it.

  • when was this recorded?

  • 1972 or 1973

  • This was a dark time for Negron

  • I have allways liked three dog night. Yes I wish they would bring chuck back too.

  • What would you say with 'I wish tey would bring Chuck back too'?

  • One of the many Classic master hits "Liar" THREE DOG NIGHT - I love the deep hurt "serious" look on Vocalist Danny Hutton on face. The legendary Three Dog Night are one of the most highly esteemed vocalized band: I love strong passionate vocals of Chuck, Cory & Danny and the clever music groove from Jimmy, Micheal, Floyd & Joe. Love you legendary 3 Dog Night! Peace.

  • love this song so much- still sounds great even today

  • Taken my life, so take my soul.........

  • My favorite group of all time! Wish they'd bring back Chuck Negron. They'd sell out every show!

  • X5025452512458

  • and Floyd Sneed.

  • The door has always been open for them to return/come back home since the mid 80's. Peace!

  • @Skyflite yeh..whats the deal with that?? Is there a grudge?? and when did they play last together??

  • @Skyflite Definitely! Bring back Chuck!!!!!!!!!

  • @Skyflite Definitely!

  • Good song. Liar! Liar! Liar!

  • saw them do this live in Indy. He wore a white fringed shirt that night. one spot on him and they claimed it was the very first time they perfromed it in concert. saw em 5 times in concert. loved it every time. one time they had the buddy miles express as a warm up act. that kicked butttttt

  • Oh Yeah.

  • Seen them in Fort Smith Arkansas. Great music, great band. Still got it after all these years, smile Just wish they would have played my favorite song by them and I kept waving to them also. Pieces of April. They never did play that one. Well. Anyway enjoyed them all the same. smile

  • Danny has a really good voice. He does a great job on this. Would like to see them again so much Love ya Three Dog Night! Keep on rockin

  • Danny Hutton,I want to be with you long as you want me I won't move away,I would NEVER move away from you, I love you Danny.

  • Absolutely the best song from 1970,my husband was cheating on me while I was pregnant!I'll never forget this song on the radio when I caught them together!Wow I still feel it in my stomach, but now I love this song and I'm in a much better place in my life than back then! Thanks for posting! At least I got the best son in the world out of the marriage!LOL

  • To the Joe Isuzu of Center Moriches ! LIAR !

  • One of my favorite songs!! I remember requesting this song on our local radio station back in 1970 and dedicated it to my boyfriend that just cheated on me...his loss. He snoozed, he loozed lolol Love the Dogs. Saw them last year. Voices are still great.

  • Amen to that!

  • This is the song that should be played while most politicians are speaking.

  • Logan? Pine knob MI, really? Talk about good wood.

  • Look at this. Not all that crap you see these days... and it still sounds better than anything out there now.

  • They're still around cause I got tickets for them on December 6th 2008 at Primm Valley Nevada.

  • Great song poorbabie.

  • Danny is so awesome on this song. They all have great voices. This song brings back a lot of memories, always thought Three Dog Night was one of the best bands to come out of the 60's and 70's. Would love to see them again.

  • Liar Came Out In November 1970. Seen Three Dog Night At The Hatch Shell In Boston,Mass.2000 They Peformed An Awsesome Show,I Had Forgot How Many Great Songs They Have!

  • Thanks for posting this, Three Dog Night was one of my favorite groups. Loved Cory Wells the most. Glad I got to see them a couple of times back when we were all young.

  • TDN RULES 4=EVER

  • The memories this song triggers is just amazing, love it! Thanks for posting!

  • And that was three dog Night re-united in this video, by the way!

  • John Kerry??? There was never anybody named John Kerry singing for three dog night!

  • S/he's joking. They're saying that Danny resembles politician John Kerry (which I don't think is true -- Danny is much better-looking!).

  • This is so much better sung by Three Dog Night. Thank you for sharing!

  • This my favorite TDN song! It's a great video. What year is it from?

  • Sometime in the lower 80's.

  • Thanks. Wish I'd seen them in concert back then - before we all got old. :-)

  • Great to see John Kerry singing lead again. Those were the days ...

  • Saw these guys in the 70s in SLC. We had "partially obscured" seats (behind the speakers). The guys would take turns coming to the sides to sing to us. We ended up with probably the best seats in the place. Man, can they sing! Good music, then and now.

  • One of my favorite TDN songs tied along with One and Eli's Coming. The first time I heard this song it just grabbed me before I was aware that it was TDN.

  • Great song composed by Rod Argent
