Megaman in any Smash Bros game is a pipe-dream at best; Capcom's pretty much given Megs the shaft. If we're to expect any Megaman character, it'd be that dork from the Starforce games, because that's all Capcom of Japan seems to care about.
I'd personally love to see the Blue Bomber in a Smash Bros game (Mario, Sonic and Megaman being my all time favorite video game characters), but there's probably zero chance of that happening with the way Capcom is towards their blue boy...

You're right, comparing specs directly, Samus could annilhilate all of the contenders. It's not always about what was "already covered". Look at Ken and Ryu. Or even Mario and Luigi! MegaMan, on the other hand, while he may be a robot, has the ability to take other powers, and I believe has more abilities. Not that this could be possible in the Smash world, though giving him some weapons from previous games. His size would make him faster than Samus, though perhaps matched in endurance.
So you're suggesting a Toon Link style character. I think that could work, but personally I feel that the brawl roster is complete anyway with all the different playstyles.
I see your point but you have to think how they could implement it into the game. Even if he got in they would have probably done what they did with Mario and Luigi and gave the the nearly exact moveset. They would go for the cheapest option and copy samus's moves. Look at Toon Link, he didn't even have a new final smash it was just a the same as Link. Just a different art style. And maybe a bit more lightweight.

I think the reson they didn't add megaman was that he would be too much like samus. all he would have are punches, kicks, and a charge beam. Though it would have been better to put him in instead of toon link. Then there would be no copy characters.

if mega man was in brawl i think the final smash should be like he transforms into difrint forms or something or with his blaster thing he starts spinning and shooters his blaster around randomly and when you tap a he shoots a meteor thing and b is a charged blast or something and when let go of b he shoots a bunch of charged blasts out the longer b held the higher the damamge and smash lasts 30 seconeds and when it finish's and huge circle of light hits everyone in game and cant be dodge always

Megaman played a larger part in Nintendo than Sonic or MGS did.

If a Super Smash bros game can have Sonic or Solid Snake...then they should have put Megaman in Brawl. Megaman X, Protoman or Zero would be the unlockable "improved" version of Megaman.
I mean...the Metal Gear franchise only had two games on the Nintendo, and that was waaaaay back in the day and they weren't nearly as popular as the MGS games for the Playstation consoles.

If they add in all the BADASSES, from the GBA battle network the chips would work and actually make it more arcadey that is what the wii was made for, I believe, yet in brawl I see more of this sob excuse for a good game with some gaps in the characters, it gets 10/10 from me but they can fix somethings and adding megaman and all the old school megaman stuff for the old fans would make it great, add in more depth to the sonic series and make like 50 characters HD on the next game/console
