They're not faking their talents - many of them shred live as well as on cd - not singing to a back up track or a band assembled by the label. They busted their butts sleeping in vans, hauling their own gear, eating little to nothing and making very little to get where they wanted to be - not have a fat contract slid in front of them without proving themselves.

I guess my reasoning for supporting metal vs. pop (in most cases, not a blanket statement here) is the fact that most pop stars have very little to no talent at all. They need to have pro tools to auto tune their voices, they fall flat or even have a recorded backing track to lip sync to live, they don't write their own material, they really aren't even musicians in many cases - just a pretty face that some label decided to slap on an album cover to get horny teens to pay money for it.

Why do you think KISS and AC/DC are still on the road and charging $300 a ticket? Pop and country are a label's cash cows. That's why it won't die.
