Matatus and their drivers are symbolic to the casual nature by which Kenyans treat their laws. No respect and weak and lazy enforcement of it. In Canada, if a car stops in the middle of the highway it will make into the 6:00 O'clock news!
@Mnomaone and @munenegl I can clearly understand him VERY WELL!!! He can speak whatever accent he is comfortable with. So stop all this BULL about that u stupid judgemental Kenyans!!!
I can clearly understand him VERY WELL!!! He can speak whatever accent he is comfortable with. So stop all this BULL about that u stupid judgemental Kenyans!!
being a few months behind schedule is better than the project stalling and hope they dont forget the lanes and hire pepo to clean the roads at least once a week.
@madscientistify The highway is ok but the price does not sound right, this reminds me of almost the same figure that was used in constructing Bagathi rd 7 km stretch linking Ngong rd and Langata rd. The main question is, why do we have to keep on trying different kind of rd construction?? Priority would have been given to expanding the already existing major Rds leading to Nrb city, How efficient will the 14km stretch be in solving the Traffic jam menace??
This matatu/passengers/pedestrians shows that we as kenyans have a lot to learn and appreciate about the highway code! General makeover of individual perceptions is called for. When you go about crossing a super highway haphazardly, or stopping your vehicle anywhere, you should think about the lives you are endangering with your suicidal tendencies.
i like clips like this at least to know what is happening in developmental domains rather than the ever squabbling political demagogies. good English out there too
What is this whining all about.. we all know that the road has not been finished... painting, marking and putting traffic signs will be the last part of the job. I pray that we learn to appreciate and respect good work as well as know when to talk and what to say! If you watch other clips you will hear the project manager mentioning their plans to include all those things you are talking about! Kenyans Arrrrgggg!
This is accidents waiting to happen. Not just missing lane markings but the pillars btn don't have reflectors or guard rail to prevent runaway vehicles running into them.Kwani hii ni chinese juakali? They should change their name from SINOHYDRO to SINA HAYA.
That's the Kenyan mediocrity. A road which taxpayers will foot for years being opened for business without lanes. The funny thing is that this has been normalized on most Kenyan roads. Overall a good start but standards must be upheld even in dealing with matatu owners.
Private ownership of public service vehicles by individuals should be banned. We should take the model of the europeans by giving contracts to companies who can give this service. It would be much better to see vehicles that have uniformity, follow a regular timetable and adhere to the laws.
Seriously how can road be complete when there are no lines indicating designated lanes? eeeish.....same to newer sections of mombasa rd around mlolongo/athi river/kitengela areas......kuwani serious!!!
@se1nl1fe I agree with you man. I was like how am I supposed to know where to follow without lines to guide me...Hopefully they will put lines otherwise the chinese will have played them.
Good old Chinese Maendelelo, talk less n do n more policy...traffic police now enforce the Highway Code while Council askaris deal sternly with road loiterers!
I would like to formally thank Nation Media Group for consistently posting news bytes about the top news in Kenya on youtube keeping us informed. I feel like even after being away for almost 10 years now I still know what going on in Kenya as I was there GOOD JOB! keep it up. thumbs up.
what do they chinese have to benefit from this? Surely they have never had alturism.
