I just made my own percolator based on your video. Very cool! I used copper for the center post and since I lost the lid to the tin (a long time ago) I found that just turning the pot lid upside-down works well. As far as the filter, I bought a full size reusable coffee filter (with very tight mesh) and cut it down to fit the bottom of the tin. Got zero grinds in the coffee and had great flow with 1/16 holes. Thanks for the video!

Very nice!!! I like how you made this project your own! One can taste why I prefer to use this for making coffee in the bush. If you wish to make the perk stand more rigid flang out the bottomof the tube that is attached to the soda can bottom if you do not have a flang tool cut the tube in quarters and bend out the tube in four directions to give you a sturdy coffee maker. I am going to have to make a video of how I put it all together in a mess kit to show how I do it. Great work Matt!
