  • you could take this same idea and make a sign for your back window of your car like they do with neon lights

  • дибіл

  • what type of resistors should i use for 5 white LEDs on a 9 volt battery?

  • @01jordanfirst

use "ledcalc.com" to find a resistor value.

use 2 or 3 White L.E.D. if you are going to run if off 9V and voltage drop accross 5 would be more than input volts.

    Best of luck.

  • @ghpk thanks!

  • @ghpk i use 2 Blue-ish white LED on a 9volt with no resistor. they havnt blown yet and the batteries is new.

  • what type of resistors should i use for 5 white LEDs on a 9 volt battery?

  • what hml type of resistors are they. Like 40.....

  • how much volt are the leds

  • what is the maximum number of leds a resistor should be connected to for decent operation? is it 3?

  • @somwk yes you can use 3 L.E.D. and one resistor

you can connect more L.E.D. to the supply so they'll all be in lots of 3 and each 3 will have their own resistor.

I have approx 48 in one strip.

  • @somwk this all depends on the resistor... for blue LED's that require 4 volts and have to have the right resistor for how many LED's you plan on placing on the resistor...

  • wow...never thought of making your own lights. Excellent idea!!

  • where can i get resistors ???

and what kind of resistor are you using?

  • resistors should be available at any shop which sells electornics parts, like radioshack and all.

use 150ohm 1/4 watt ones on a series of 3 L.E.D. they should be able to even survive 14 volts when the car is running and battery is powered extra for charging.

    resistors were around 50cents for 50pcs. :-)

    hope that helps.

  • what kind of resistor are you using????

  • for every 3 L.E.D> in series, a 100 ohm resistor is used .

however using 150ohm would give proloned life of LED>

  • i'm using it for car battery...izit okay if i use 150Ohm Resistor????

  • where did you get them led lights

  • Bulbs are purchased from local electronic parts shop, they are cheap, around 3$ for 100 L.E.D.'s

and then made it on own.

  • damn u got good price i bought mine 25 for 3.$

  • @protegejustin1999 I know it's been a long time since your post. Radioshack sells LEDs, but the cheapest is eBay, I bought 200 for about $10.

  • @protegejustin1999 if u live in the uk maplin if u live in america go to ure local elketronics/hobby shop
