It was Leroy Hodges - thanks for reminding me - it's a great line, and on listening again I should have taken more care to copy it closer! Too much Jamerson "extra bits" on this.

What does that metal bar over the pick ups do ? I see that on some of the old school basses.

@flubno It does nothing. It's for show. To me it's in the way. Most bass players remove it.
