  • WoW ended with Wolk.

  • nyckelharpa (not violin), bassoon and clarinet in the same piece...

that, and I miss wotlk so much. don't realize what you had til it's gone.

  • i remember taking the boat from stromwind for the 1st time, seeing the penguins on the iceberg, and that giant burning ship between the canal walls... good times.

  • WoW died with Arthas.

  • This song and the Grizzly Hills remind me a lot of the Canadian Rockies, very peaceful :)

  • fuck wotlk, it was all about vanilla / TBC.

  • @mrdanni no WOTLK is just as good as the others !

  • @H3MetalC0rE correction, WoTLK = stupidly easy heroics free epics all around and a whole load of shit.

  • @mrdanni I bet you didn't complete even one of the harder raids .... |-(

  • @H3MetalC0rE Most of the raids were hard until late vanilla, you quite clearly have never played vanilla.

Guild made great progess in naxx n' AQ, blowin smoke out your ass, I haven't played for 4 years, and i bet I still know 110% about WoW, it's lore and mechanics n history then you ever will in your life kiddo.

  • @mrdanni hahaha :D I have played since the very first days of vanilla and i have never complained about anything blizzard has done to the game . Im pretty sure i have gathered a huge amount of knowledge of this game and im pretty sure i know much more lore than you as i have red absolutely every book about the game .

  • @H3MetalC0rE When it comes to lore, I doubt you know anything more than I do, that or your on par with what I know.

And if you are a Warcraft / WoW enthusiast, like me, only in later days the game is rotten to play, you should know that with a 11 million player-base there are tons that played previous warcraft, like to read on lore etc thus being alot of enthusiasts.

And so my point is, you should never doubt what one person has done, as you are never in the know.

  • @mrdanni " And so my point is, you should never doubt what one person has done, as you are never in the know." - than how do you know i know less lore than you ... just accept that not everyone thinks like you and we actually enjoy what we get

  • @H3MetalC0rE You can't try and put that on me when you did the same, lol...

  • @mrdanni ok ok I did get a little mad but Im just pissed of at haters that destroy wonderful games ...

  • @mrdanni u didnt even play back there

  • @beakyburgerz i have screenies, gameplay footage etc etc etc, wanna bet? nowadays wow playing free epix faggot.

  • Who could dislike this?

  • @Xalzel sony entertainment

  • i say i miss wrath, and i do, but if i was still killing the lich king 2 years later....i think everyone would be bored.

  • @Ded0099

It's like each Expansion, there are ups and downs. The Trial of the crusader was definetely one of the downs, although I liked the T9 armors (horde).

ICC could have been better, too, but overall I really enjoyed Wotlk.

It's strange that you never hear the good voices WHILE an exp. is running.

  • Every video of vanilla, TBC, WotLK has comments saying WoW died after that part. It died for YOU, it was funnier because you were new.

  • @Brissan1 yea pretty true. it kinda died and got reborn each expansion for me. Nothing beats the awe i had when i started playing in vanilla and the learning of the game just the amazement, nothing beats my rading experience in bc since i didnt get to 60 to raid in vanilla. nothing beats my arena experience in wotlk because i didnt do arena really in bc. so certain things died and other things i got to experience that were new. cata i never had time for, and pandas... just doesnt do it for me ;P

  • We all miss you Northrend. But guys, our world is just like it and we can go out in the outdoors and continue to admire the environment tha made us love Northrend.

  • wow started to die after tbc, wotlk was silly cata is a joke and mists....., waiting for gw2 swtor even failed

  • @TheOmi3333 if u can't adapt to something new then i think ik the reason y u play these games, hah.. imo i think all expansions were unique and fun. Ur hipster talk annoys me

  • This is my favorite zone to level STRICTLY for this music. Reminds me of Oregon Trail games

  • :) so many good memories i miss wotlk :(

  • Grizzly Hills, I love you and I love the memories you hold! I cannot count the number of times I sat just listening to this music camping for Arcturis. Now you can find him grazing every single time you fly over, but back when this place was a hot spot, getting him meant more than any of the silly firelands pets. Arcturis and the camping in Grizzly Hills will never be forgotten! I decided to quit wow when The Firelands came out, I miss my pets, and my music, but do not miss Cataclysm at all!

  • Realxing spot, Realxing music

OMG I MISS YOU WOTLK :(

  • most say that this is more north europe theme then Howling fjord.

  • @Sunnansjo I'd say it actually is. I relate much more to grizzly hills than Howling fjord

  • you know guys... i've been to several forests here in norway were i live. and it's mysterious... the myth and adventure, about the norwegian trolls lurking in the forests. the gnomes... + this music... it's like stepping into grizzly hills i tell you... deep into big forests here in norway... dont forget compas XD or else you might get lost >_< but srsly, it is real epicness right here in norway forests etc. every land has it's epicness. let's take the rain forrest for example. that's STV

  • @DranweRagetotem but hey... and Sahara. is Tanaris example... so on a kind of view. azeroth. is the earth. you just have to look at it very eye and put some music into it and you get epicness. at every point of view =) thank you blizzard. for vanila, tbc, wotlk, but NOT!!!! CATACALYSM!!!

  • @DranweRagetotem Sweden has the same kinds of forests. I use to take walks while listening to this soundtrack in the forest. And I'll tell you, It's something special about it.

  • Brings a tear to my eye. Truly does.

  • WoTLK hands down best expansion

  • @keenansplanet yep

  • Reminds me of Ravenous.

  • The bassoon at 2:00

    I died

  • @dimsimlord I think it's a French Horn...

  • @tadsvlog

    I play bassoon. It's a bassoon.

  • @tadsvlog

Granted though, it's extremely high register playing for a bassoon

  • @dimsimlord Ah, I see. Sounds like a french horn jumping partials. But, considering I'm a saxophone player, I have no room to argue haha.

  • @tadsvlog A sax player would probably be able to sympathise - you can hear the key framework clicking as the bassoonist plays; which sax also gets (although not quite as badly)

  • @dimsimlord So true :D

  • I love Grizzly Hills such a pretty zone with the music.

  • farmed in the place everyday before going into uldar. man that instance was so epic, the fact that i go to the zone just to farm for fish feasts back in the day for the guild right before a raid was a beautiful memory in itself, and speaks volumes about the good times.

  • It,s not really Norwegian. I think it's more like Canadian ...

  • @eStyle361 norwegian and canadian maybe both two of them but sounds very nice^^

  • @eStyle361 I totally agree ;)

  • @eStyle361 im Canadian and yes that look like Canadian

  • @jpduclos88

Yep, definitely looks like British Columbia

  • @Eragon537744, it looks pretty much like all of the Northern Frontier (including parts of the United States).

  • Norge ftw! Norway ftw! :)

  • Isn't this the same place where your toon had to take a shit? XD That made me lol

  • I listen to this when i play wow like atleast 20 times a day

  • I was questing in this area when i got the awful news my sister died :( R I P Michelle.

  • @TheOmi3333 Im sorry :(

  • herbing around I'd do the hills to hear this, even though there were few herbs

  • If the content in Wrath wasn't so easy it would of been an amazing x-pack!

  • @tehnubster69 in all honesty, it was only naxx and toc that was easy. ICC was really hard without the buff, and ulduar was very hard near the end, not to mention the hard modes in both.

  • @tehnubster69 to me it was about the amazin glore and finally being able to explore northrend. i could care less how easy or difficult it was as long as i could still explore the content

  • My Norwegian heart beats a couple more times than usual every time I venture through this area <3

  • @Nattefeber There is something Norwegian folk feeling to this is'nt there? =)

  • These zones have incredible detail and beauty, I truly feel sorry for those of you with a machine not powerful enough to render what blizzard has poured effort into, but these zones are amazing me nowadays going back to them for something as trivial as farming or leveling an alt. I'm standing in Sholazar Basin right now and I haven't moved in over 20 minutes...

  • I was an adventurer like you folks once, but then I took an arrow in the knee...

  • Wrath didn't get bad until Tier 9,Tier 9 is when wrath went all down hill.

  • 1:47 favorite part.

  • RIP WoW , I'll miss you. Childish game now :(

  • @Crashzeka If you say so ;) Gnomes aren't ''childish'' then..?

  • @MrSullivanDrake Gnomes had been with us since WC3. By childish I mean that the game difficulty is awfully easy now, the mechanics are simple, the story is nothing compared to Vanila, TBC , WoTLK , everyone can be epic etc etc.

  • @Crashzeka No gnomes in wc3.

  • @TarnDarkBlade72 The operators of the Flying Machines in both Warcraft 2 and 3 were gnomes.

  • @thedonoftrek Wrong, the flying machine operator were dwarfs, in wc3.

  • @TarnDarkBlade72 Ah, you have me there. Looked for a source and the flying machines of Warcraft 3 were indeed operated and even built by Dwarves.

  • Northrend was the best! Fuck what you say against!!!

Cataclysm feels so heartless and so broken

  • @MrSanctuary86 Well, it IS a cataclysm...

  • @Werewolf211 Unfortunately, yes :(

  • @MrSanctuary86 agreed. joining a private server just for this :)

  • @MrSanctuary86 cata sucks monkey balls man

  • i fucking want northrend back!!!!!!!!1

  • I would buy a ticket for a Liveconcert of this track!

  • Comment removed

  • i found a cool sound in games but never found it on youtube ,its on alliance side in borean tundra when u go into the gnome house middle of the map amazing song

  • I can almost feel the nipping cold breeze as I walk through the tall trees and smell the think pine smell of winter as the ice cold spring water runs by. This music captures the atmosphere so perfectly

  • I miss wrath...WoW died after wrath...

  • @drpeppa2357 I bet ya you will say that wow died after cata when mop comes out.

  • I started wow because the Wrath of Lich King. Arthas is the most epic villain of the warcraft series. The lore of Wotlk , is amazing , and Northrend is incredible map .

  • Really makes me wonder that this music would really fit games like Fable or the Elder Scrolls series

  • Sometimes I go back to Grizzly Hills just for this track... Love it!

  • I never liked Wotlk as much as BC. It wasn't bad it just seemed to me like part of the precipitous decline of the game. Much of the magic just didn't seem to be there. Everyone will have different opinions of the game, but my friends that started in BC basically feel the same way.

  • Wrath was the last great expansion. Honestly they should have saved wrath for last because I feel like I was watching new years fire works and getting the awesome finale half way through, leading to a lack-luster ending. Why Blizz, why?

  • wrath was the best expansion, looking at the number of subscribers during wrath compared to other expansions proves it.

  • @all4one5 you are completely wrong sorry. Between the releases of Burning Crusade and Wotlk, wow gained 3 million subscriptions (8-11 million). After wotlk, the peak was 12 million. So by your logic, BC would be the greatest expansion.

  • This brings back old memories, Wrath was the best expension ever, maybe not for you but especialy for me.

i remember myself being in grizzly hills for a few hours, enjoying the music and the zone, then i'd go to the fjords for a while and then i'd go to the stormpeaks and then.. then i'd go back to the grizzly hills because it is my favorite zone in the entire game and it always will be, brings back that good old wrath feeling.

Wrath of the Lich king was the best expansion on wow

  • One of my favorite location and music from world of warcraft. I so like to swing here.

  • Grizzly Hills, otherwise known as the home of Arcturis. This place had the best zone music that wasn't Dalaran. So many memories, sitting here for 24 hours plus maintenance waiting on Arcturis to spawn. This music will always be a tune that makes me remember the great days of the camping waits. Wrath of the Lich King, Grizzly Hills, and the rest of this expansion was the best thing that happened to wow. Cataclysm has killed it, but don't take my word for it, check the public revenue records

  • Norwegian folk music in WoW, lol

  • @Jolav4 Swedish. It's a Nyckelharpa, which is a Swedish folk music instrument.

  • @Jolav4

Hey the instrument is a "Nyckelharpa". It's a swedish instrument (I happen to own one too). But whatever. Sweden and Norway are brother countries and we share the culture.

  • @Flyingtart We were even technically the same country between 1814 and 1905.

  • @TheMooseofBattle

Not for longer than that? Oh I need to read some history about that.

On a Swedish gold coin I own that's from the time of the king Oscar II it says: "for the well being of the brother people".

  • @Jolav4

    Why " lol"?

  • @Jolav4 Which is ironic because this zone is obviously Alaska-inspired

  • @Jolav4 For some reason this landscape brings mind Canadian Red wood forests(not even sure are there red forests but still brings them to mind)

WoW brings many cultures thru game.

  • Fuck you /v/ i dont want to resub ;_;

  • I loved all expansions of this game, i dont have a one favourite cause there are so many awesome zone but, Grizzly Hills is up there. Good work blizzard :)

  • <3

  • I hade BC woltk and cata are a lot better

  • The absolute best zone theme music in the game. Beautiful. Gets me a little choked up when I first fly in there. When I quit WoW last summer this is where my character "retired".

  • that musics is so beautiful...that made me sad =(

  • my favorite song in wow.

  • @freezerbabies

The "I need something to complain about" principle stands true to this very day.

  • If vanilla was like the magical period of one's childhood, Wrath was the warm, welcoming sensation of coming back home after a long time away.

  • @filodipicori Yeah, except for the fact that it was GAY

  • @vvbn7890 And? That's your best shot?

  • @filodipicori Yes. It was gay. Now get on your knees and felate me

  • @vvbn7890 Just finished a MMF threesome, but willing for more. Where do ya live stranger?

  • @filodipicori wrath was shit, only the soundtracks were good

  • @Zng0o wrath wasn't shit

  • @filodipicori You know...despite the deathly chills of the northern winters :P

  • @filodipicori

    Yes, I completely agree

  • 12 man is come from scourge.

  • This music has a certain sorrow to it....like when you had to kill the Imperial Eagles......no reason to....but you had to do it..

  • @mkalover232 It's got that woodsy feel to it and that's what it's supposed to have. There was a reason for the eagles dying, I can't remember exactly what it was, but there was some reason. Either way, this music was why I always loved questing in Grizzly Hills

  • @yamibalus Well of course!! :) I mean, of course it reminds me of the Celt lands, Scotland, Ireland, a little bit of Norway/Sweden in it but all the while the music is beautiful and awesome you can't help but feel a little sorrow coming out of it.

  • nice this is on youtube! where did u get this music?

  • Many northrend places reminded me of Canada. mmmm

  • I used to quest through GH, and then this music came on, and I turned it up to listen.

From that day forth, I always quest with the music volume on maximum

  • Like this celtic music. makes me think of scotland.

  • CANADIANS!

  • Don't worry, guys. Skyrim comes out in one month and it'll be like the Northrend of The Elder Scrolls series! I plan on nostalgia'ing really hard about WotLK once I start playing it... might even add this music into the in-game mix!

  • lol In Norway it is always like this lol :P

  • cooooool

  • omg lots of level here:D like

  • this makes me want to go back to wow :(

  • @blackonecro WoW is dead, don't go back.

  • @Vorzt Why? Because you say so? Please GTFO, and take with you. those two douchebags that upovted you.

  • @PlaguedMan World of Warcraft officially died when they nerfed the PvE in Cataclysm and it's all been downhill since then, with patch after hilarious patch. Cataclysm wasn't that great to begin with but at least it was hard, but nope, nerfed.

They also seem to be going with a Call of Duty-esque "game a year" thing, because we're not even a year into Cata and yet we have the raids leading up to Deathwing. That would also explain why the level cap was only 85. Yes, the game is bad and it's dead.

  • @Vorzt Bullshit. The faster Cata ends the better. Yet, you want it to go slow at the same time. I don't see any nerfed PvE. Maybe only the outdated raids at the beginning of the expansion, and if you indeed refer to those, then yes, even more bullshit came out of your mouth. Or your keyboard, whatever.

  • i dont know why but the music makes me think of the Shire from the LOTR, i remember first goin their on my female belf and i just stood there not questing, just listening to the music because it was so great <3

  • the first half is what is playing when my fiance and i walk down the isle. this piece is by far one of the most beautiful ive heard in my life...

  • *nostalgia* WTB Tardis please :(

  • Awesome music. It is heavily inspired by traditional Norwegian music. But hey, this music rocks anyhow where it is inspired from :)

  • i listen to this while i am on ameba pico! :D

  • One of my favorite zones in WoW. Reminds me of nature, and the fun quests in that zone, and WotLK, the expansion I was most involved in, I felt like this was the best expansion.

  • This game was ruined for me with Cataclysm... :(

  • @DarthBlam Idc ;)

  • @TheEducatedStranger Who says I was talking specifically to you asshole. GTFO

  • @DarthBlam I didn't :) I just don't think anyone cares about it :)

  • @TheEducatedStranger I've had several people agree with me now and before... you simply can't speak for everyone.

  • People who paused Disturbed and Slipknot and enabled this music, understand why altoholics exist. It's the greatness of this music combined with the scenery and quests. WoTLK excelled, and the heroic dungeons were certainly the best. I remember the first time I heard this. It was in December, and god I felt so great in that period because of this. The atmosphere from Northrend and Outland gave me chills.

Because of this I can safely say that WoW is a masterpiece, and a work of art. Period.

  • Simply awesome¡¡

  • Best fucking song ever...

  • I miss you WotlK ;)

  • I loved grizzly hills for this.

  • Good old memories eh... :) I will ever love this game ;)

  • brings back good memories! screw cata =(

  • When wotlk was out, sure I was quick to point out its bad sides, like the easiness of epics, and the non-existent raid progression. But Cata ruined the game enough for me to quit, and looking back I can honestly say wotlk was by far superior to Cata and wish I would have focused more on enjoying it while it was around. To me, WoW is no more and I wish I could still play it, but in its current state I can't.

  • @Xoxinwulf i feel the same way 100 percent i loved WOTLK :(, i wish i would of enjoyed it more...the changes in cata i was hyped about it, came back..and the lore straight up sucks compared to wow. Arthas...how i miss you.

  • @Xoxinwulf I dont give a damn dude ;) cry somewhere else :)

  • BC and Wrath are my favorite expansions. I remember knocking out rep in that area, while waiting for a naxx invite from my guild. Good times.

  • Fuck cata man. Im going back and getting all the northrend achievments. At least Ill hav fun and enjoy the music/scenery while doing it.

  • I hated WOTLK compared to all the other expansions, but to me, Cata just seems sort of rushed. I really just liked WOTLK because they didnt mess with classic, and leveling was nerfed. Now it seems cata is almost over, and it hasnt even been a year....at least LK had some deep storyline. Cata just seems to fly by at breakneck speed... alot of the zones were hideous in lk too, but grizzly hills, along with scholazar and storm peaks are the few reaming features...

  • @TahUbermensch Howling Fjord is awesome too in my opinion..

  • Normally I don't play with music on WoW, but whenever I'm about to enter the Grizzly Hills, I turn it on.

  • i really wanna play through this zone again, i feel like i rushed through northrend, without really stopping to appreciate all the time and effort put into it.....shame too, cause hearing things like this really make you wanna go bak to feel the atmospheric aspects alone, let alone the lore and gameplay elements...i miss wotlk =/

  • I always take my toons here to level not only because i memorized the quest line, but to just listen to this beautiful music. Its always a great listen, grizzly hills has great music if you avoid the troll areas lol.

  • my faverite zone with my faverite music
