Afghanistan was one of the rising and developing countries back in the 70s, we were pretty much ahead of our neighbouring countries but unfortunately poor political decisions lead to many wars in our devastated motherland.
My dear Afghanistan Insha'Allah I will work hard with every second of life left in me to serve the poor of my country and to help rebuild it. I hope I will be alive to see the well developed Afghanistan.
What a messy place. Do they not have city planners? Take an example @ Beirut city, where new and old buildings are conform a certain building style. Blends way better than putting these glass monsters between mud houses. They should make a masterplan to rebuild the Kabul of the 70's. In those days Kabul was a beautiful city! Time to kick out the corrupt Karzai gouvernement, and replace them with capable people. Bet his friends earned good money on those Vegas style shopping malls!
@TheSiawashjaan Also you say god bless the USA, you mean the USA that entered your country and killed Afghans, raped women, killed children etc.? Those USA?
If yes, Afghans should seriously lynch you and cut you into pieces for supporting the oppressor of your country.
I HOPE THAT AFGHANISTAN BECOMES ONE STRONG AND DEVELOPED COUNTRY AND AFGHAN WOMEN BECOME FREE SO INSTEAD OF SADDNESS IN THEIR EYES WE SEE HAPPINESS ~ ♥
GREETINGS FROM YOUR IRANIAN SISTER WISHING FREEDOM FOR ALL AFGHANS AND ALL IRANIANS HAR JA KE HASTIM SHAD VA SARBOLAND BASHIM :)
this was awesome till 2:10. afghanistan is riddled with corruption, deceit, no education/schools or infrastructure, lawlessness. a few pretty buildings can't change that. but at least ur an optimist :)
@Muzhket , No , not communist afghanistan, Republic afghanistan and Monarch afghanistan was peaceful and progressive time.. Communist fucked everything up by bringing world politics into afghanistan and Cold war.
Afghanistan is a beautiful country, and its people is one of the most kind, respectful and proud I've ever met. It has been a privilege to serve in Afghanistan among ISAF forces and courageous Afghan National Forces. I hope it will know peace, but I'm not sure it can happen as long as its neighbors don't stop being such asses !
Buildings don't make a city beautiful; but rather, it's peace, justice, and the well-being of the people of the country. So, I disagree that from 2001-present Afghanistan has returned to its "golden days," as you point out in this video. There's still injustice, war, and poverty. And as long as those things are present, Afghanistan will remain in the dark ages. While the toppling of the Taliban regime was a great thing, AFG. is still struggling, and in some ways, is worse-off than before.
@THEMAN201111 My friend I did not say that it has returned to its "Golden Days" , ofcourse afghanistan has a long way to go, but it will always be beautiful. Afghanistan is still struggling but its has hope and a vision. And as i said.. It is catching up. - and has progressed since the fall of the taliban. Some say its worse than before, but others may say that in some cases such as 24 hour electricity - life has improved dispite the taliban attacks.
@Mortaza94 you must have been licking some 'warlord' or other 'important' balls to have witnessed 24 hour electricity. I just came back from Kabul and it didn't last even for 2 consecutive hours. Electricity was not there when you needed it most.
Of course, Warlords and their cronies will give you another account. Wake up if you aren't one of them. Our beloved country - Kabul included - needs real forgiveness, unity and hard work to rebuild, but as long as they are in control, there is no hope.
@1point7g trust me we want to leave asap but at least say thanks for kicking the taliban out of power. 1400 Americans dead and a trillion better be worth it. If it wasn't for us your country would still be a medival heap of rubble with no progress.
Afghanistan was such a beautiful and prosperous country before 1979. It was the Soviets who screwed everything up. Besides Afghanistan, the Soviets also screwed up Eastern Europe and Caucasus. I hope that the Afghan people will restore their lost golden age.
Afghans its our responsibility to return to our country an restore its beauty and, and uplift the people whom have suffered so much. Nato needs to leave
I miss my afghanistan even though all i remember is the war. We left when i was 6 and now im 19, i havnt been back yet and cant wait till i do bakhayr!!!
Communism is the worst thing that has ever befallen man. The communists destroyed Afghanistan just like they destroyed my Cuba. We are all brothers my friend - always take pride in your country and look forward. Kabul will return to brighter days like in the past!
@momo5288 Wrong. The USSR signed a friendship treaty with the Socialist government on December 5, 1978. It was only on July 3, 1979 that the US began to fund rebels fighting the Socialist government. The rebellion began in mid-1978 and the Communist government called for help from the Soviet Union to put down the revolt on April 14, 1979. It was only on July 3, 1979 - THREE MONTHS later that Jimmy Carter signed an executive order to send the anti-communist guerrillas help against the Communists.
@DukeAlba "It was only on July 3, 1979 that the US began to fund rebels fighting the Socialist government" FAIL, the USSR invaded on Dec 24th 1979 the US still funded the "Freedom fighters" before the USSR invaded. You seem to adamantly defend the US government, I'd also like to hear your views, on the US actively recruiting "Islamic fundamentalists" during the 1980's to help fight in Afghanistan.
Excellent video that shows the Afghanistan that most people do not know. We only see the negative images in the media and it was heartening to see rebuilding at the end of the video. Afghanistan is and always has been a beautiful land and I respect and admire the courage and resilience of it's people.
