LOL, great video and NO this is not flamenco, never will be as always my friends this is just a acoustic guitar playing. none own or even come close to a flamenco guitarist skills. but a great video and two talented guitarist.
let me tell u this... this video doesnt help to play guitar xD i mean i dint learn anything at all, the video tells me she's the best woman with a guitar ever xD
Yea sorry mate. I was being cheeky. But remember the old days ( I do, Im old) before we had you tube lessons etc. we had to just use our ears. Now if we don't get it explained step by step we complain. All respect pal. Enjoy
@omgwtfbbqalekx . I see you like David Helfgot. I live on the same street as him. When I looked up your page there is this beautiful guitar music, who is it?
In these parts of Latin America (I'm from Costa Rica, Central America) we call this kind of music Rumba Flamenco, a mix between the spanish flamenco styles with the latin rumba rythims.
There a famous duo called Strunz & Farah (Jorge Strunz is from Costa Rica) who also play rumba flamenco.
I think they are both great musicians, but Gabriela's strumming technique simply blows my mind. What an amazing player!
yeah :) in ethnimusicology lesson we call that just flamenco....it doesn't matter if its mixed with other style melodies...it reminds flamenco! and dude Gabriela's rhythmical techniques are insane! i upload this video because it helps a lot!
definately, not flamenco. This music is fast and aggressive. Their music have alot of riffs that sound to me like Thrash. However, I can see how people see similarities; the beats from the guitar, and the way they talk to each other while going into another riff.
no no! it's just normaly tune! ebgdae! ok look dude:) this progresion is simple.... 1rst chord = Em, 2nd = Am and the 3rd = Bmajor.... and the progresion is [1, 2, 3, 2]]
can you tell me can i play this on normal open tuning or does the guitar need to be tuned to DAGDAD or similar to get that spanish sound also what chord are these bars your playing thanks
Take that Andy Mckee!

I heard that they started out in a metal band, at least that's the story the press has reported.

@Bob6stringer
You're right man, they started out in their native Mexico in a thrash metal band called "Tierra Ácida" (Acid Earth, could be Acid Soil).
dasvassen 2 years ago
yup its true, death or trash metal . But since those kind of bands don't do so well in Mexico they had to try somewhere else.
