  • i have a sony hdr xr200 and that has the steadyshot but is there a chip or something suppposed to go in it to have it or no

  • how do you turn steady shot off?

  • why would you want to?

  • @farang82 cause when u use a fisheye lens, the lens wont bob up and down.

it doesnt matter thought because i figured out how

  • @farang82 Tripod use..

  • yeah... but why is it an advantage to turn it off? what do you gain from it?

  • @farang82

also for fun scenes if you are doing home video... looks like earthquake

  • ..................

  • cool. you can turn it off? didn't know that.

  • That was a great demo! You could not have more clearly demonstrated how well the active setting works... (nice build too, how long did it take you to make that contraption?) I'm off to throw up now, i watched it on my 52"

  • omg

  • Great Rig

  • Wow. So far the best comparison I've seen for a camera.

    The difference is monumental.

  • Excellent comparison

  • Nice comparison, but let me ask...Why the hell would anyone want steady shot in the off selection? I don't even fathom why the hell they even make it an option!!! It shoul dbe on, On/STRONG and ON/INSANE REDUCTION

  • because it digitally alters the image therefore increases the load on the processor which in turn decreases image quality and battery life!

  • Wow, never knew that. Good info, thanks and great test again....

  • From what I have read, the optical active mode does not alter the image digitally. The reason you might want to switch it off is because if you have the camera on a tripod, the OIS will cause your image to shake a little. Therefore OIS should only be used when there are vibrations to stabilize :)

  • steady shot is for handheld shot thats y you need to turn it off when your camera is on a tripod..

  • whats the advantage of having it off?

  • Cool Video! I give you a 5 star for video

  • Great video Pete. Maybe you could make some money selling wobble boards to Sony!
