DAMN!!!!! an arch spark is really bright! I understand y need such a strong lense. I cnt wait to get to stick welding in my welding class!!!! Hey Freddy Gr8 video on SMAW. I TIG and MIG pretty well but ironically find ARC tricky. I see you move forward then back. I'll have to give that a try.

@valveman12 you do that if you are welding the root like open space between and if you went straight it would melt through. you hold it just until it almost drips out but move it up real fast for a split second and it cools enough that you can keep going. you dont need to do it if the pieces are flush or anything like that. you can't do that with all rods just deep penetrating ones.

@1113562 you can do that with 6010 rods. it mainly for root passes. i learned it at ACC from Tim Strouse. LOL
