When I was a kid living in southern IA, a multiple vortex tornado came through our little town. The next morning we went out and our house was the only one still standing in our entire neighborhood. Most of the houses were just a tangled pile of boards and shingles topped with cars, trees, and who knows what else. It was the scariest thing I've ever been through.
@LaconeJo1 Actually if you want to get technical about it, tornadoes don't sounds like trains or jets, they sounds like HUGE waterfalls. I've seen my fair share of them as a chaser and I always compare them to the sound of rushing water.
@tornadochaser14 Even tho im aussie i was there when i was 9 on that day my god i will never forget it we were like 200feet from the monster as a F5. I'v seen 3 other F5's and EF5s in my life my school and uni paid for my travels. So i'v seen my fair share of tornadoes in my life even ran into a few storm chasers as well.
buddy easily f5 damage the houses are totally one only wood left barely any of it that is f5 damage you are right at the beginning was a strong f3 and f4 but grew to a monster when it combined with a f2 tornado beside it

This storm generated the highest wind speed ever recorded by instruments on the face of the planet...well over 300 mph.
